Game recognizes game. They first met at the NFL combine and they talked about how they had admired each other's game. Tank wanted to stay in Houston, so after CJ got drafted, he asked CJ to put in a good word for him with the GM. Turns out the Texans were also high on him. CJ told Tank Texans will get him in 3rd round. They've been best friends ever since.
@@gradystanley5812if you watched the video of Tank, he said CJ told him it could be 3rd round. Caserio in another interview said he had asked CJ to ask Tank which other teams were interested to get him and which round. That's why Caserio traded up in the 3rd round to get him.
I also wonder what Houston's plans are regarding their receivers in the off-season. If I'm not mistaken, most of the veteran wide outs and tight ends are on one year deals, and I'd like to see what their plans are for them.
I'm curious too. Their WR core has played extremely well this season, but on paper they aren't names you look at and feel content with. If Stroud is going to play like a top 10 QB, you definitely want to maximize his rookie contract window so I could see them potentially bringing in another WR, but I also don't really know if making such a move would even upgrade their offense given how well the WRs have been playing. Nico Collins, Dell, and Schultz are all still young. I could see them upgrading from Robert Woods over the offseason to make the offense even more of a threat!
@@TheJumboPackage I mean, if Tee Higgins is on the market, they're going to go get him. Keeping Shultz is going to cost a bit, too, and I think a couple of others can leave.
@@thebigdrew12 oh man, Tee Higgins mixed with Tank Dell and Nico collins would be insane! I actually forgot that Schultz was on a one year deal, but I could see him staying… if not it’s not a huge loss, especially if they get a true X WR like a guy with Higgins. Lots of young talent there and they’re an up and coming team with lots to look forward to!
Did CJ make Tank, or did Tank make CJ? I know it's not as simple as that, but I wonder if either of them would have the same success on different teams.
Interesting question! Probably a bit too early to give a definitive answer on that if there even is one. My answer would be that they both just have very complementary skillsets and very good chemistry. Dell has great release ability to create easy separation in quick game, throws over the middle, and vertical throws and Stroud has great anticipation and accuracy to get the ball out early and hit him in stride!

He didn’t tell them to get him any any round he just put in a good word. He had no say in where he was getting picked

Texans will attract free agents in 2024.
Woods is on a 2-year deal. Dalton has a 1-year deal. Noah is probably playing for another contract. Nico is on the 3rd year of his rookie contract.
