- I found the bucket washer on RUclips. This is an important up-grade you need to add. The center disk. After that you will need a wringer. I made mine from Maple fire wood. Using my tinkering skills and Being a redneck. This is what I came up with.
Bob. Finally someone who actually made a wringer and didn't shoot their mouth off for 15 minutes. I call it RUclips {psycho babble} I've been looking at getting one for when SHTF but that will be the day I pay $150.00 or more for something you made out of items I have lying around my garage. Thank you for you advice.
Excellent! This is exactly what I have been trying to find!! I think that if a person could make these cheaply & efficiently enough, you could make a real business supplying preppers.

Great improvements over mine. I did make my own style agitator out of wood. now I need some ideas on how to make the wringer. interesting weekend project for families with children. Wonderful learning tool. This is a terrific video.
I had a wringer that was store bought and it did a great job no drips after one pass the rollers were rubber and clothes dried faster than when i used regular washing machine. they cost alot or i would buy another.
Yes the roller would work better if I had found 1/8" rubber tube I could have slipped over the wood. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

You can find some nice rolling pins to make one with. Not everyone has a wood lathe. The fun comes from making it with what ever you have.

@@CorrinaConlan That is great. Have her check out using rolling pins for wringers too. I almost did. But I wanted rubber so the rollers would grab the fabric and pull it threw.

good job! I have been thinking of making a wringer & you have made one almost exactly like my plans. I had not thought to put the shelf on it. I think you could also coat the rollers with plastic paint.
I did find 2" clear vinyl pipe to cover the rollers. That was what I was looking for when I found the blue vinyl thin stuff.It is 1/4 thick and works much better.
Love it. I am trying to make one myself but much less sophisticated than your machine . I noticed that the water in your tray seems to also drip on the 'dry' side of the rollers which must mean that it re-saturates the clothing a little bit each time, maybe angling the tray downwards just a little more might help.

I wish you could make a wringer for me! 🤠 I can't find a decent one out there that's affordable and one wide enough for towels, sheets and blankets. I can make one but I will need to improvise because I don't have all the tools to make one like yours. I'm trying to figure out how to make and assemble the frame with the bolt and spring. 🤔 I'm wondering if there is a way to use some PVC pipe for the rollers, or perhaps or find some premade wooden wide rods.
For the wringer you can use rolling pins like you use to roll out dough. This has a center hole that can be drilled out to except a larger rod. PVC will bend from the pressure needed to press the water out of the towels and blankets. I hope that helps.
Oh, love the bed frame idea! Strong and will last forever. Why are the springs on a horizontal to the rollers? How's that work?
The rollers are tightened with the springs. This will give tension to the squeeze yet let the buttons and zippers will press threw as it opens just enough for them. Thanks for stopping by.

I have been doing this for years little suggestion just sit on the bucket to smash out the water hell if you are a little heavy like me they almost come out dry 😁

Actually I have only one issue with no lid in my plunger.
My soaks and small items go through the holes. I just turn it and they pop out.
Also I use a plastic tub not a lil ol bucket and the plunger does great.
It's great to see you noticing what works for you. So many can not.

I could make everything I just don't understand how you did the springs and how you attach the springs is there a way that you could show me how to Springs are attached in another video Jackie
It is a simple trap joint. The top is bolted lose on the right and left so it can swivel. Then the bottom where the rollers are. You pinch the rollers closed by tightening against the spring tension. The spring is only there so it can open if to large an item tries to wring threw the rollers. Like zippers or buttons will do. You need the spring tension so it pulls tighter, but lose enough to flex. Stop the video at 6:58 It gives the best view on the two arms and the spring that pulls it tight. 18:46 time stamp also gives a good view of the side you have questions about too. Show the video to a few friends. I am sure you will see then how it works.
Great video! One question. Did you use any bushings to keep the rollers from sliding back and forth or rubbing the sides of your bracket?
I did put a washer on each roller end. Thanks for the question. It is slow speed using you hands to turn it. But if you put a motor on it. "Look out." You will need a safety pop-open device.

i get reason for adjustment of Top Roller, but i don't understand the 'Spring Action' and adjustment that Pushes on clothes.
Also - You probably have Washers & Bolts at Top to allow adjustment. ? : }
Great question. The springs will let the cloths push back on the rollers, if zippers or buttons need more room to roll thru. If it were stiff and not movable it would cut into the rubber and wood behind. Good luck with your build.

It works well. I am lazy so I did socks.
The tray is on the wet side. It rolls out the open side. I have found the thicker clear Pump inlet pipe. It is the size I was looking for in the first place. They must have been out. Also running it threw twice helps too.
Bob Anderson Its really nicely put together and I like how you have it at a standing height so now bending over to use it. I've done mine now. I used rolling pins for the rollers. One has radiator hose on and the other is silicone coated using oogoo so that they grab on to each other as the bottom cranked one rotates.

Me too. I have already had to cover the second roller with radiator hose after all because the silicone was starting to pucker up when things were a little tight going through.
Seems to work anyway.

My Mum used to have a Victorian cast iron mangle. It was the best thing I had ever used for wringing out washing on my chore day. Really a shame you can't buy these any more. Not all of us are so good with making things like this.
Great video though. I might give it a try sometime. Really can't beat a mangle - which, I forgot to add we call it a mangle in England

It is hard to see. But if you make the frame, you will need the springs to put pressure on the rollers.
