I just got a M58, the condenser version in your video sounds warmer and better in my opinion, the M58 in comparison sounds drier and more brittle.

I think it's a very precise dynamic - clean and a bit sterile. Perhaps that's it?

The M58 sounds vastly better ... Even than your SM7B to be honest. Nothing beats a Beyer M88 though!

The snag would be that I only have 2 x 414 XLS, I don't have the Xlii to compare - I know they are a bit brighter up top and have 9 not 5 patterns, but that's it really? Good idea though
