Thanks for this. I'm totally puzzeled of the situation as well. I don't understand KG hype, what is going on. Collin is a rock star. And you can not play rock'n roll without an attitude. Thanks, Jonny
I don’t understand the hype either I think they really want him to be something he isn’t and looking for anything to confirm their bias and I think it’s hurtful in the long run. They need to full embrace sexton as the pg
Key has all the tools. Decent size and athleticism at the 1. great as an off the dribble shooter. Can pass and dribble really well. Not a total liability on D. Has really high confidence and is a leader. I’m high on him.
Last game was great, was a bit worried when they took him off the court when he was injured. Just my less informed view of the NBA, but actual point guards are getting rarer and rarer in college and the NBA and thus maybe we shouldn't worry about this as much as we do (I am guilty of this). There still is a need for at least one person that is not just a scorer, but can play great defense and isn't a shoot first guy, so maybe that is the prototype for the future (think Jrue Holliday of the Celtics).
You raise a VERY good point about that and a glue and utility piece like that is arguably necessary for all teams in the modern day. Some teams can spread the responsibilities between multiple players but if you can find your own Jrue then life gets A LOT easier
Keyonte is special !! If he can get to a 45% fg from the field he will certainly become an all star. Love sexton though he is definitely the better player at this time. On a championship team sexton would be the ideal 6 man
Nothing about sextons game projects his to ideally be a 6th man. He’s starting guard period lol saying that’s ideal when he’s one of the more effecient guards in the league is weird
I'm worried Colin will help us get to many Ws this season. We either need to limit his minutes or trade him. I'm a huge fan of him but I'm on the Cooper/ Bailey train in the draft. Jazz actually need to be a bottom 4 in my opinion. I think the Jazz have a good enough team that they could easily place themselves in the 7-12 spot in the draft again. The Bull would be a important piece playing to that level again.
I definitely respect that take and it’s something that really needs to be observed, especially when we get to around the 30 game mark of the season for certain
I love the way Collin Sexton plays. I just wish he was three inches taller. As for who the future long-term point guard is? I don't think he's on the team yet. For now, I'll go with Sexton and let Keyonte play the shooting guard position.
It should be Collin sexton. It’s pretty clear on the floor when he’s at point how well the team flows . I don’t think it needs to be made a complicated situation. The game is simple and it will tell you what is what. Sexton impacts the game at all levels and it shows
In the Sacramento game when Sexton was Played at the PG position he had a bunch of turnovers. He is a 2G in a short body. George and Collier are both better passers than Sexton. Sexton is a bonafide scorer. He's not the point guard of the future for the Jazz...
Advanced analytics don’t support that argument. I would say that Keyonte is a lot closer to sexton’s passing than collier is but collier in college was known to be extremely turnover prone which helped contribute to his fall in draft stock and Keyonte last year had poor numbers from ratios and overall turnover metrics on average while attempting to learn the PG position. He wasn’t great for more than a 3 game stretch when the objective was keeping turnovers low and have a roughly 1.75-2/1 ratio of assist/turnover
The debate continues

Hopeful keyonte has a breakout season this year

My vote is eventually start key at pg and Cody at the 2. Sexton can come off bench as 6th man at either pg or sg. Trade clarkson.
I respect it!
