I love this, the Kiwi, Tasmanian Devil and the Little Blue Penguin are amazing animals. The Spectacled Flying Fox was a happy suprise and in my opinion I would rather have more bats than birds right now. The Quakka is definitely the best animal in the pack for me, I have always loved them and I am so happy that they are being added to the game next week.
I'm so excited for this pack! My best guess for the plants- the fern plants look like silver fern/Ponga. The spiky palm-looking tree looks like a cabbage tree (another plant endemic to NZ but has been quite popular overseas, so now can be commonly found around the globe), I hope they included one that is flowering, as they look even better in flower. It looks like flax plants that you circled in the Tassie Devil screen shot. Not sure about the flowers, grasses, or trees (could be totara or kauri but could also be something else entirely as I'm not too good with similar-looking tree species). I really like that they seem to have included a few of the Oceania cultures to represent the building pieces rather than just one, it's a very nice touch IMO. I'm not much of a bat or flying fox fan personally, so I'm very much 'meh' on more bats (mostly because it was such a missed opportunity to add a different walk-through glass of animals- i.e. bird or reptile- Tuataras would have been amazing as would literally any species of bird IMO), but I'm not unhappy about it either, so I'm just happy for those that are fans of bats I guess lol. LOVE the fact we are getting 2 more birds & that one is the Kiwi! Love, love love that all the animals are small- it makes for building much more balanced zoos in terms of species & scale IMO. Kind of wish the one of the Aussie animals had been dropped in favor of a species of Tree Kanagroo, but I'm not too disappointed about it- hopefully Tree Kangaroos will be added in a different pack, as I know they are a reasonably high requested animal by players.
I think you are right when it comes to all those plants! They are all truly beautiful! I am also a huge fan of smaller animals in PZ - building for them is so much more fun for me personally. When it comes to the Tree Kangaroo - I would also loveeee to have it in the game and I am very hopeful for the future. Maybe they will include it in one of the biome focused animal pack!

Some of these animals weren't on my wish list, but I'm glad we have them. Quokkas are very friendly and would have been added for the walk through habitats mechanic as there's so few animals for that feature atm and the bats are representative of islands that are off the coast of Australia, New Guinea & Indonesia - places that would never have gotten any representation. (I love looking up where each creature is from and the history of those islands is really interesting. That's probably what I like the most, representation of these really obscure places you wouldn't ever learn about without these animals.) I'm excited to see if anyone tries to recreate the Penguin Parade down at Phillip Island now we have the little/fairy penguins! They're an extremely popular animal to see here in Victoria.... and they'd make use of the burrows too as they're the only penguin to do so😊

I'm looking forward to the Tasmanian devil in the Kiwi, but what I'm also really looking forward to is the new update the free one that's coming out on the 19th as well where were be able to have the Observer domes inside of the exhibits and even do it underwater appropriately this time
I had a very good feeling about the bats, I think I made a comment on your previous video. I’m so glad to be able to build for them! You should definitely extend the bat house in the Elm Hill City Zoo!
You could also do something like an indoor jungle (possibly in the reptile house, if your basing habitats off regions) and make a drop-down where the bats just fly and you look over them from a bridge of somesort. Just an idea 👍👍@@CesarCreates
I wish we could have gotten the tree kangaroo rather than the quokka, since we recently got a wombat that feels too similar. I also feel like this could have been an animal pack since it feels so similar to the tropical pack. I feel it's a bit so so, but I always end up loving the new packs way more once they come out!
I loved the scenery pieces from the tropical pack so I am very happy about the ones that we can see in the trailer! I feel like a lot of people change their minds once they actually get the pack and play it!
i'm right there with you. You're allowed to be disappointmed. I feel like i could completely rebuild the entire trailer with the pieces we already have. That being said though, the devil and Kiwi are def. something to look forward too
I'd have traded the Quokka for a Quoll, Numbat, Bandicoots or Bilbies, however Quokkas are the ones most people outside of Australia will be familiar with and the only animal out of the five that can take advantage of walk through habitats which I suspect is why they were chosen😊
Happy there is at least one bird in it! But a bit disappointed since the walkthrough could have had a bird, I feel it's been almost a year since we've been dying for birds, I dream of aviaries with birds singing and flying around (walkthrough is fine). I think the quokka is not a great choice, I'm sure it's going to be a fun animal, but I saw people mentioning they'd rather have a tree kangaroo, and I tend to agree. Animal wise, it's a so so dlc.

The devil is Australian. Tasmania is a part of Aus 😊 the flying fox however is native to many islands of New Guinea & Indonesia, not just to Queensland Australia so the bat makes sense to represent those islands that would normally get egnored

Still got birds. That's better than none at all. There are alot that can't fly like the Australian Ground Parrot & the Kakapo that would be wonderful additions for small habitats in future
Last time i checked the Kiwi is a bird. Also i find it so funny people are still expecting Flying Birds. It ain't happening so late into the games lifecycle, since that requires a major overhaul of the core game.
Because there is just nothing to critique. By now we all know how those packs look and which animals they normally include. Not having super high hopes for some revolutionary things that they never confirmed really helps to enjoy those packs so I would recommend it. It's a 15th pack so if we still didn't get the things you would like to see so badly that means something. Noone forces you to buy those dlcs so let other people be happy
@@CesarCreates right, but every time the community cheers for another camel, or penguin, or bat or rhino, it just makes them think its okay to keep doing it. like, if you want another penguin, just mod and reskin the one they gave us. I think only about 10%-20% of the PZ community actually posts about it, so the devs might be a bit confused about what people ACTUALLY want, not just the loud minority that make content
i HATE that planet zoo is just giving us repeats of the same old stuff. everything here looks like the south America or islands pack. we dont need more penguins, or camels or rhinos or animals we already have! can we PLEASE just get birds or a petting zoo pack or SOMETHING that actually REFRESHES the game play? because planet zoo is getting boring and they really arent giving us anything new and interesting to do with it...
I would advise to leave comments like this under official Planet Zoo posts. There is nothing I can do about how their packs look and what they include. Btw a lot of people have been asking for those animals for ages so just let them enjoy them

I really enjoy planet zoo, i have over 1500 hours in it. I'm letting everyone enjoy it just fine, me not liking it donest mean you're not allowed too. But i'm allowed to be disappointed. And sometimes, people need to see other negative comments before the feel comfortable expressing their true opinions
@@capybara455 we just got a re-skinned bat. you can download that mod for free. Some more new animal models would have been nice. The kiwi is great though i wish we could have more like that

The ponytail Palm looking plant is a Cabbage tree. Cordyline australis. A NZ mainstay.
