It's just a simple math equation. If you gain a pound a week, it's because you are overeating by ~500 calories each day. To lose the same, you would have to subtract that amount from your break-even point at which your weight is stable. There is no mystery here... fat people simply eat too fking much..

Notwithstanding the few people who have hormonal / glandular / other medical issues, most people who are fat are fat because they eat too much and take too little exercise. That is just a fact of modern life in the UK, USA and other western countries, and is supported by countless studies and investigations.

What skinny person is out there thinking "I am lucky to be skinny".... I'm sure exercise or eating habits aren't based off of luck.
You kinda missed the point there, bud lol she was referring to fat people thinking that skinny people are that way because they're lucky, rather than that they simply don't overeat all the time.
I think it's incredibly ignorant of so called 'clever' KH to think that a thin person, putting on 4 stone and then losing that same 4 stone PROVES that it's easy for a fat person to lose weight.
The BEST advice I can give to anyone, fat or thin, is to LEARN about your OWN body - we are NOT all the same at all.
I know of people who are 'big boned' and trust me, if they lost weight, they would look very wierd.

OK she's very forthright and opinionated but she does recognise that she herself is on the chubby side, and showed a photo, which takes guts.
And she is basically right. Notwithstanding the few people who have hormonal / glandular / other medical issues, most people who are fat are fat because they eat too much and take too little exercise.
That is just a fact of modern life in the UK, USA and other western countries, and is supported by countless studies and investigations.

Eating less and moving more is absolutely free. An average woman needs about 1500 calories a day to keep fit and healthy, regardless of job/kids/social class/wealth.

For the vast majority of people, keeping within NHS guidelines of food consumption, coupled with very modest daily exercise (such as twenty minutes of housework, or washing the car, cleaning the windows or whatever) is quite sufficient to guard against becoming very overweight.
What I find naïve, or even injurious to public health, is the endless catalogue of excuses dreamt up. "Oh I have long hours, I have children, I don't live in proximity to a gym, I am being forcefed processed food etc"
All this does is tell people they are the hapless victims of circumstance, and that their own chosen dietary habits have noting to do with their weight problems.

Knappa22 i have to agree, most foods are processed shit and way to much sugars.
people dont know what they take in and how much they burn. its not hard. its just knowing how and what you take in. sadly a lot of people miss the will power to educate them self's and do something about it.
this is not fat shaming, this is just how it is. many people use to eat food as comfort and its a hard habit to get out of, combined with a lot of different factors from bad parenting to all others its a hard but doable thing to loose weight.

There is truth in what she says. There are too many people making excuses - As you say apart from certain cases, most people are fat dues to science; eating too many calories thwn you need and no exercise.
It's just a shame that she comes across so badly that people don't listen to what she says, only how she says it.
