Omg you sound exactly how I was for my wedding with the rain!!! I constantly checked the forecast too, going out of my mind! On my wedding day it was also clear and lovely... Until the LITERAL MOMENT I walked down the isle! Lucky I got married in a chapel but to this day I still haven't accepted that it rained on my wedding day and some of the things I spent a fortune on (beautiful decorated palettes with dried flower arrangements and an outdoor bar for our cocktail hour) didn't end up happening! But at the end of it all, it was such a magical day and night. Like you said, you literally can't control the weather! xxx

My fiance and I are prioritizing venue, photography and food. Decor is also up there for me but I am a creative type so I know I can do that. I saved a TON of money by deciding to have my wedding on a weekday (we talked to pretty much everyone we're inviting beforehand and everyone was cool with it) and I've learned that most vendors will give you a discount for a weekday wedding. I've only gotten a few things but so far the photography has been the most expensive thing. These tips helped a lot! I've been on the fence about having a sitting area and about a photobooth. I think I'll prioritize the seating area over the photobooth!

Love this! I got married in Vermont (I live in Jersey) on September 1! Hands down the venue and photographer and videographer were the most expensive. But so looking forward to seeing our wedding video and all our photos! I will say that I saved a ton of money on florals... I spent less than $1,500 on all bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces etc.. bridesmaids had babies breath and that's it.. my bouquet was babies breath, greenery and some Silverstone roses..it's possible to save money and still have it look pretty!! xo

Yaye congratulations!! Can't wait to watch your wedding video. Weddings are so expensive. We saved a lot of money by not having limos and floral table center pieces. We used the bridesmaids bouquets to decorate the head table and also for the flower toss (this way I got to keep my bridal bouquet). Like Tess mentioned definitely splurge on the photos and videos.

My brother got married at Frankie’s restaurant in Brooklyn in the backyard. It was very small but the staff managed to quickly change the ceremony area into an eating/reception area. There was not room for a buffet style dinner but they had sharing plates on each table like family style so it wasn’t like personal ordering nor buffet style. It was in the middle. I was surprised at how lowkey it was for a new york city wedding!! So There definitely is more affordable options if you live in the city!

Love this! I got married in Vermont (I live in Jersey) on September 1! Hands down the venue and photographer and videographer were the most expensive. But so looking forward to seeing our wedding video and all our photos! I will say that I saved a ton of money on florals... I spent less than $1,500 on all bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces etc.. bridesmaids had babies breath and that's it.. my bouquet was babies breath, greenery and some Silverstone roses..it's possible to save money and still have it look pretty!! xo

I *believe* you mentioned before that you had a wedding planner, I just hired one with a certain amount of set "planning hours" (20 hours) -- what would you say were the most beneficial tasks that the wedding planner took off of your plate or the tasks that were the most stressful that he/she helped with? Yaye congratulations!! Can't wait to watch your wedding video. Weddings are so expensive. We saved a lot of money by not having limos and floral table center pieces. We used the bridesmaids bouquets to decorate the head table and also for the flower toss (this way I got to keep my bridal bouquet). Like Tess mentioned definitely splurge on the photos and videos.

I’m currently planning my wedding and I love this video!!!! This was super comforting. My ceremony is outside and thinking about the weather does stress me out but thank you for reminding me that it’s nothing that no one can control. I’m paying a lot for my photographer and videographer and I kinda have buyers remorse.. but again, thanks to you, I feel better about spending the money. Can’t wait for your wedding video! My brother got married at Frankie’s restaurant in Brooklyn in the backyard. It was very small but the staff managed to quickly change the ceremony area into an eating/reception area. There was not room for a buffet style dinner but they had sharing plates on each table like family style so it wasn’t like personal ordering nor buffet style. It was in the middle. I was surprised at how lowkey it was for a new york city wedding!! So There definitely is more affordable options if you live in the city!
