Push button automatic transmissions were a signature feature of Chrysler Corporation products from the mid-50’s into the early 60’s. Neither GM nor Ford nor American Motors adopted them (except for Ford’s short-lived Edsel line). My brother had a 1960 Plymouth Valiant which had a push button automatic, and the Valiant was their smallest, cheapest car.
