  • Outside noise. We all know. We all have it. Well, I think I found a solution from INDOW and their amazing window inserts!
    Indow Acoustic Grade window inserts can block up to 70% of outside noise. Soundproofing windows is fantastic way to block noise in your home studio. That’s not the only benefit of noise cancelling windows: they keep noise out, but also keep noise in.

    I’m a home performance contractor. These are legit for improving window efficiency. Also pertinent for musicians, they cut UV light that would otherwise fade/damage instruments and artwork.

    • @Nyarlah
      @Nyarlah 5 лет назад

      Please, don't promote this for "not damaging instruments". It like saying blocking the sun will prevent skin cancer.

    • @ryanwilson5936
      @ryanwilson5936 5 лет назад +4

      Nyarlah
      Well......skin cancer due to UV radiation then yes, blocking the sun will help prevent skin cancer. Skin cancer from smoking tobacco, well, then the sun has nothing to do with it. Why do you think people use “sunblock” when they go out into the sun?............
      UV radiation is something that shouldn’t be underestimated and the OP’s advice against “damaged instruments” in a home/studio setting pertains to UV damage. You know, from the sun. Which is a very plausible thing (especially when it comes to artwork and documents you want to keep in archival condition). Many framed documents are put into frames with UV blocking panes and they do a great job at eliminating UV damage to the object.
      Your analogy doesn’t make any sense.

Frank saw that a garage presents a space that can hide clutter and if the door is left open can detract from the aesthetic look of the home. The open exposed carport design encouraged keeping the area clean. Now im in the military and miss being home in Bentonville. These guys could design some awesome homes!

I Have a Serious issue (My Studio is upstairs and the Road is a Main road so a LOT of cars all day and night) I Do not live in a Major city or nothing like that,but i do live in a pretty decent sized town and all i hear is Car subwoofers,idiots flooring it in their trucks,noisy engines,semi trucks etc.etc. usually early in the morning,at around noon daily,and at around 3-5pm when people are leaving work,etc. I Cannot physically alter my bedroom/or studio windows in the house,my windows are older wooden and glass windows also ! I NEED SOMETHING that i can use that will both reduce or completely block out outside noise that also will not alter the windows in any way. (as in permanently)

    A couple of things. 1 did I notice in lower right an edge like a tri angle that wasn't fully up against the wall? why?
    Did you say you had single or double pane windows before? You mentioned both got confused. Do you know who Indow's competition is? who? and does anyone beat them in price and how is their quality? I'm on a fixed income so Indow is a bit expensive from my understanding. So I know I have 7 windows. Since the 3 in living room even though one assembly next to each other count as 3 correct? Not just 1 for the space they cover? two are adjoined in my bedroom and 2 in my den next to living room 3. Before asking rest I want to see your db ratings if you've done them. Another video showed about glazing have to do more about soundproof than 2 vs 3 panes. I noticed only a 5 db level deifference btw 2 and 3 shocked me.

    Also, remember that 50% volume level is only 3dB! It is not a linear scale. A lot of people forget that. 85dB outside would not be 42.5dB inside, reduced to half. It would be 82dB.

      @@216trixie . Its not hard to do or expensive. Order a window sash from a window company. A sash can be ordered to the 1/8th inch. Also, a sash could be ordered with many typs of glass. Single pane, double or triple pane, argon gas insulated, many types of coatings for light filtering. Most options could be added without great differences in price. An average size window would cost around $70. Be resourceful and find a place to aquire some foam.
      $700 is alot for one window. Let alone several. Most people that are trying to use a spare room in their home are not in a position to spend that amount of money on one aspect of recording.
