The best car I have owned so far after 911s, BMW 6 series, Jaguar F Type, BMW 750i and Mercedes SL400AMG. It has personality and flair! No issues after almost two years and still makes me feel great whether in town or at speed. Great review
Great review Ron. I'm so glad they added a physical Auto Start/Stop button to the center console. In my wife's 2018 you have to go into the infotainment system to turn it off, really annoying. It's been a great car, no issues whatsoever.

We have a ‘19 Gran Lusso S. The only real disappointment from a “luxury perspective” is the lack of climate controls/usb outlets for the back seats. Granted, few people will ever use the back seats, but for this price point, they should be there.

I think it has super luxury appeal and plenty enough tech. My mate has an E class with all sorts of fancy options, displays, ambient lighting, etc etc... but he said to me , once it's set it's set and you don't touch it again, so ALL the options are not used, so do you need them? The Maz Lusso is a stunning luxurious car.

Dude, my 2017 SQ4 looks like that, ‘cept for the “GranLusso” badge, and the butt coolers in the front seats. Same paint, same interior colors, not the same ctr console cup holders, no surround camera or L2 auto, or wood trim steering wheel (still a nice wheel to steer with!).
Any word on “digital” car keys (Apple) for these Maseratis?

Ron. What is your experience with the 8 speed ZF transmission. I have heard how they were not good in past cars ( not Maserati). Did you find it to be reliable?
I NEVER had any trans problems. Love the ZF in Maserati's and for the Alfa's. Its not the quickest on the block but damn near close!
I want one right now! Such a shame the tech is at least 3 years behind the German competitors. Hopefully we will see the new uconnect 5 12.3 inch screen in the facelift

Beautiful car, however I think that apart a new ghibli, which is not planned for now, Maseratis needs more equipments and more luxury in order to fully succeed. Also mhev and phew versions of its models asap.
We should see the hybrid Ghibli in the next month so lets see what Maserati cooked up for us.

Just add virtual cockpit ambient lighting, and boom Maserati will be converting 5 series and E class owners very quickly.

I wouldn't necessary called it luxury. Except the drive assistance offered my 2015 has more luxury. Ie rear heated seats and sun screen on rear window

It's a luxury car in the sense that Chrysler's own 300 isn't much more than a Charger in a suit. But the interior isn't really befitting a six figure car

Interesting. I’d like them to up the interior luxury game. The E class has a better interior imo.
I just dont like the tan interior. Black with red stitching would be my choice. "Not best in it's class" you can say that about allot of cars but for $83k there's plenty of choices out there some like the Genesis cars are in my opinion more luxurious and frankly faster than the Ghibli. So what reason is there to buy a Maserati? Exclusivity. The fact that you dont see many of these like you do Mustang's or BMW's to me is the reason why I would buy one.
Question for you Ron. How would you compare the Ghibli to the Porsche Panamera? I think that is an interesting comparison.
You're def right, you buy into a lifestyle and reputation when you own a Maserati. And to most thats worth the price tag despite if it may seem to come up short. If I could get my hands on one I would love to do a comparison but it would have to be vs the Quattroporte.
@@RonsRides It probably does compare more to the Quattroporte thing about the Panamera is its a 4 seater but supposedly there is a 5 seat option but good luck finding one. Price wise it says they start out around $80k but I checked the local dealer and the cheapest one they have is $108k and that is the base. But like some Maserati's you can get a 5-7 year old one between $30 and $45 and thats with 40-60k miles. Not bad

Today tech is more important in luxury cars than fancy leather and the Ghibli is a generation behind an E class or a 5 series.
Which would you rather have, tech or good materials?
Rons Rides tech by far. Leather is becoming obsolete for example as it is not sustainable. But for example in a new Merc the nav uses real time video and puts the arrows on top to help you turn on the right street.

Rons Rides I love the quality of the leather in the Ghibli. From 2017 and more recent, it has all of the tech you need to be honest. Apple car play brings in all the media and apps you need.

No phone charger? There is no one who will buy this car who doesn't have cell phone. Whichever executive missed that should be fired. This is not a luxury model foe this and other reasons. The Levante Gran Lusso is much better.

It is 1,50,000 dollars in india and it is the shiti cabin I have seen in that price range. Others car r way better and this car. And it is not even close . Nothing special about this car . Disappointed this reviewer is telling us it's like diamond shaped carefully with Passion. My car cabin is way better than this . Its cost 10,000 dollars 😂
