How Good is the YOUNGEST PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYER EVER Actually?
In September of last season, 15-year-old Ethan Nwaneri became the youngest player in Premier League history when he debuted versus Brentford. So how good is he ACTUALLY?
There is a large number of Arsenal fans that are of the opinion that 16 year-old Ethan Nwaneri is destined to follow in the footsteps of legendary midfielders Jack Wilshere and Cesc Fabregas. The similarities being that all three of them are Hale End graduates who contained a level of maturity and natural ability that allowed them to dominate youth levels far above their age, causing them to debut at absurdly young ages. With Fabregas going on to become one of the legendary midfielders of the game, and Wilshere going on to become one of the best talents of the game until a series of injuries hampered his development, it’s large boots to fill; but it’s not hard to imagine that Nwaneri is next up in that line of legendary Arsenal midfielders. Even Jack Wilshere himself hailed him as one of the best players he's ever seen at that age. But there’s a catch. At the same time us fans witnessed Wilshere and Fabregas debut at 16, we also watched Jose Baxter and James Vaughan steal the show at that same age just to falter out into irrelevancy and never reach anywhere close to the hype. So this now leaves us with the real question: Will Ethan Nwaneri follow in the steps of Wilshere and Fabregas, and become a world class player? Or will he succumb to the same fate as Baxter and Vaughan; fizzling out and never reaching the heights fans expected.
Now, no matter how you put it, his debut was not just a case of a player being brought on just to shatter a record. He earned it and it certainly was not received overnight. Nwaneri has been consistently playing years up his entire career, and his talent has been impeccable since the very beginning. As an 8 year old, he was brought to Hale End. At 10, during a trial that included academy players from all over the country all in hopes of earning a scholarship at the highly regarded St John’s preparatory, the coaches asked Nwaneri to leave… not because he wasn’t good enough but rather he was so brilliant that the coaches couldn’t evaluate any of the other kids due to his superiority to all of them. It wasn’t fair, everyone looked like beginners in comparison to this absurd talent. Fast forward to 2021, when he had just turned 14 years of age, Ken Gillard, after watching Nwaneri dominate in the U15’s & U16’s all season long, would call him up for a U18 match vs Reading. It was supposed to just be a debut. The season was almost over and at the end of the day, he was still way too young to be playing with this age group consistently. Most of his teammates were 4 years older than him… But by the end of the game, Ethan would have scored a phenomenal goal in a 6-1 win. He would receive the ball, fake out his defender and release a dazzling shot from just outside of the box that would nestle into the top left corner. It was picturesque. Arsenal would post his goal on their main twitter, captioned “imagine making your Arsenal U18 debut… at 14 years of age… and scoring a goal like this”.
Now despite an excellent debut for the U18s, he wouldn’t get the full nod to the side in the following season. In February of last year, he received his very 1st call-up to the three lions playing for the under 16s, despite being 14. His next opportunity for the U18s would come only a few weeks later, when he would get the start against none-other than Reading… And he would do it again. By the 28th minute, Arsenal were up 2-0, and Nwaneri had dished out both assists. A month later he would score vs Southampton before heading off to the Mondial Minimes with England’s U16’s. He would shine against Mexico, scoring a goal and getting an assist as well. But the side would get easily dispatched by Brazil, where Madrid’s prodigy, Endrick put on a solo show bringing Brazil to a 3-0 victory, knocking England out of a potential spot in the finals. When he returned, he would score one more goal vs Norwich, to end off a very successful season. Well he wasn’t truly part of the team just yet, it surely wasn’t due to his skill level, as he had netted 3 goals, and assisted 2 in only 417 minutes of playtime.
Sure, Nwaneri was already on the radar for some more invested fans, but it would really be this past season where he'd earn the reputation of arguably being the finest young talent in Great Britain. Now 15 years old, he would be officially promoted to the under-18s and in the third game of the season, in the youth North London derby, he and teammate Omari Benjamin would steal the show. In the 17th minute, with Arsenal already up 1-0 Nwaneri would play a flawless trivela setting up Benjamin for his second. He was relentless all game and finally, 53 minutes later, he would
AND A HATTRICK IN U21 TODAY!!!
Is there a video?
@@bigbyavs8695On Arsenal.com they always have the highlights after every u21 and u18 game.
he is an absurdly well rounded talent that can essentially be moulded into any position and excel. he can play as a 10, 8, winger or even striker and dominates in all of them against guys 3/4 years older than him
Lewis Scully is incredible bro. Carrying the ball he's the perfect Mezzela honestly he's unplayable with the ball at his feet in U18
Lewis-Skelly.
Arsenal hale end always produces these sort of little tiki taka players
very nice, cant wait to see more of him in the future
That was an unreal informative video. Thank you!
Appreciate that bro!
Great vid, hope your channel grows
❤️
Outstanding player
In his Instagram he has a pic where he is clearly an inch taller than Wilshere... so in the last months and maybe even in the next year he has developed phisically and will continue to adapt to his body. If he can grow a bit more and/or become a bit faster/stronger than he already is, there is no way he doesn't become a top central/attacking midfielder considering the technical skills he already has
For many reasons It's better for him not to grow much
What a talent.always kerp your head and remember where and who you came from..
Cesc wasn't a Hale End graduate. He was bought at 15 and almost immediately went into the first team squad. Facts matter.
Played 1 and half seasons in the academy. He is our academy graduate.
Where is Chalie Patino? another brilliant kid who received much praise a few years ago.
Just like Chido-Obi Martin, these kids must be brought in once in a while next season to test the waters.
Looks like Arsenal have got their Foden. However he is stronger and has better defensive capabilities.
I saw Fabregas at 15. Nwaneri is nowhere near Cesc
Great channel keep it up
Yes he will be the best in the Arsenal team.Thanks.
He has to find his own path, C.Fabregas at 16 debut EPL, and at 18 he ousted P.Vieira at a C.League match.
Bro he’s taller than Wilshere. Wikipedia is wrong with that 5’5.
Yeah my fault. He looked about the same height as Fabio Vieira last year who’s 5’7, and I saw that photo he was a tiny a bit taller than wilshere a couple months ago, I’d estimate that hes now probably 5’8.5, which is still small but not that small.
@@JW.Football5'8 is not small for a winger or attacking mid at all. It's only small for a CB, GK, CF. Those are the main positions that require height. Especially with Nwaneri having a robust physique. It's not like he is skinny and frail.
Great video, next do Leo Cardoso and Shea Lacey
Appreciate that man❤️
Oddly enough, haven’t heard of Leo Cardoso (and I feel like ik everyone lol), but Shea Lacey yeah, he’s definitely gonna be a future video
@@JW.Football oh wow Leo Cardoso joined Chelsea last season from WBA (Fabrizio had reported this) but he was injured throughout the whole season. Before that he was imo the best talent I've seen, was linked with City, United, Benfica etc and has represented both England and Portugal . There's not many coverage on him on social media tho , seems all his clips on insta, twitter, RUclips has been deleted but he's one for the future for sure

School game from when he was younger against Harrison Parker. If you have time give it a watcj
Aight, I'll check him out thx
great video thanks. side question, what is that accent, where in the US are you from?
Appreciate that. I’m from California
i completely forgot about this yute, he disapeared from the first team after his debut
Big fucking W video
❤️
Let's talk about ESR who's been frozen out on bench just because folks (including the coach) are calling out to give time to a sluggish Harvertz
Now I know why Charlie wants to leave permanently
Sure he could play instead of havertz
Bergkamp!!!
wow he is good. do you think he has higher potential than yamal?
He's brilliant but Yamal is on a different level. I wouldn't be surprised if Nwaneri becomes one of the 5 or so best in the Prem, but I feel like Yamal will be the guy on the Ballon d'or podium every single year in the 2030s.
We should have Kept Patino
He seems like a perfect fit for the Xhaka role instead of Havertz
He seems to play better from the right side of the pitch unfortunately. Arsenal are blessed and cursed.
A lot of our young players that break through seem to be left footed. It’s strange because most clubs have the opposite problem. But all of our best U23 players the past 5 years are left footed.
Cozier doberyy, Lewis skelly, nwanyeri, Saka, Hutchinson just to make the most recent prospects. They’re all left footed.
Our right footed prospects are Eddie, Balogun, Smith Rowe.
Brother more talents you are the best I like you page you are the best ❤❤❤ go work 😊
Appreciate you❤
The Most High. Supreme True Divine Infinite Almighty. Nhanji..Grahm
Fabregas was not a Hale End graduate.
He did briefly join the academy first.
Hale End Academy is for school boys. He joined as a scholar (post school boy age) and was accelerated into the first team. Barcelona's La Masia was were he did all of school boy training. @@amu7379
7 mins 42 seconds it says he five foot five but he five foot nine
Would you play him in place of Viera?
A little bit too young right now, but give him say half a season, and if he performs well in the pl2, which he will, then give him Vieira’s spot.
phong cách chơi không giống Cesc , mà giống Persi + Wilsea
I wanted to say Bergkamp but no, he is Fabregas-type of a player
Fabregas isn't a Hale End graduate 😂😂
I mean he did play in the academy for a year… but yeah, your right. It fits the narrative though so let me be haha
Arteta will unleash him next season and he will tear teams apart.
Next Wilshere not Fabregas!@okey
Looks like Pepe. Deadly in front of goal..All but left foot. Slow in progression. Holding the ball to long for only a backward pass. He needs to watch Viera more often if he wants to improve.
wilshere is a legend? woah, never knew that. Its alright gasing up, but this is down right shameful.
Wilshere more than fabregas
If hazard and Messi was placed in a black kid.
Next Fabregas? The captain who was on strike to force his way to Barca. Rather next Jack Wilshere.
Jacks talent yeah' hopefully not his game time 😢
He's better than Kai Harvets🤷🏿♂️
I’m sure that when Sanogo scored 4 goals in Emirate cup, people has compared him to Henry. Give this kid a break.
Exactly..
No 😂😂absolutely nobody compared sanogoal to Henry...ever!😂😂
Sanogo always had the touch of a donkey. Nwaneri has a gift with his touches you can't teach that
Great vid mate but I must tell ya, you NEED to stop saying "zero" lad hahaha, If it's 1-0 its ONE NILL, 2-0 TWO NILL.
Legendary midfielder Jack Wilshere uno 😂😂😂
Next Fabregas? Fabregas was on strike to be allowed to go to Barca. Ethan won't do that. Don't compare traitor Fabregas, Chelsea legend to him.
