6:00 Most wire strippers are marked for solid wire. Stranded wire, thanks to the air spaces between strands, have an overall larger copper diameter than the equivalent gauge solid wire. So it’s absolutely normal to need to go one size up for stranded wire. (Some wire strippers actually have two markings, one for solid, one for stranded, and the latter is simply shifted by one size.)
