This week I’ll be answering questions about Using Sheets and Layers within the Vectric software. We’ll discuss what they are, how to use them alone or in conjunction with each other. This will be in addition to our regular Open Live Q&A, where I'll answer your general CNC or Vectric Software questions.
Remember that I host these Live Q&A discussions every Sunday at Noon Pacific Time, 3 pm Eastern Time, so SUBSCRIBE to my channel to stay up to date!
As usual, if you have any comments or questions, please put ‘em in the comment section below.
Thanks for watching!

Please remember that I am NOT a CNC expert, and I cannot help you troubleshoot your CNC router. Every CNC router, controller, and controller software is different. Your best option is to contact your CNC manufacturer’s Tech Support division, or look for a Support Forum or Support Community through their website. They are the people who know your machine best, while I would only be guessing.

I have learned a tremendous amount from watching your You Tubs,
My wife and I are professional craftier. I use an Avid 60X60 Pro machine for 3 years making wooden toys in a production operation. I could have not made it this far with out the help of your videos thanks for all you do.
Thank you for taking the time to make all of your your instructional videos, they have been really helpful. I have a question that I’m sure is too much to text a response to so perhaps it would be a good subject for one of your training videos. I am learning to do wood inlays and I use Aspire. I have found that I don’t always have a large enough piece of wood to do the entire “male” piece. My question is how can I use layers to separate portions of the inlay and use smaller pieces of wood like a puzzle? Mainly concerning the section of carve in relation datum position. If a piece I have on a separate layer is in the top right section of the carve and the whole project has a center datum, can I move the carve to the center datum of its own layer having a smaller wood piece measurement without messing it up? I apologize for my horrible attempt at articulation.
If you have any experience with new construction, sheets equates to a set of plans and you are the designer.
Use layers all the time on many projects. Best way to screw things up is to design for a certain layer, yet fail to make it the active layer. End up with multiple layers of design all on one, then try to separate the information to its properly associated layer. I’m real proficient at doing screwing things up that way.
I too possess this talent. Mainly because I forget which color I've made which layer. Popping out the Layers tab to stay on the screen may help me correct that going forward from here.
I missed this one.
I did too but will catch it later.
