Curious about thoughts on fall festivals? I will not celebrate Halloween, trunk or treat anything that has to deal with it. I wonder does that make fall harvest festivals bad or is that just consider celebrating fall?

I personally dont celebrate Halloween anymore! I don't want my children walking around the neighborhood being terrified just by see ppl dressed up as anything scary. Its a hard NO for me and my family! I remember when they announced it on the news years ago that ppl were injection poison in the candy bars. Imagine now what ppl are doing.. also you see teen run and grab bags from little kids that have candy bags. Thats crazy

We haven’t celebrated it in years! Looking at it now, people just look silly to me. Seeing a 45yo man or woman dress up as a pirate and post pictures is just cringy to me now. Looking in from an outsider now the “holiday,” is just ridicules
Each year I pray against the demonic spirits in charge of the deception of those who either do not know Jesus but really go after those who do know Jesus. What relationship does darkness have with light...none. if you love God, do not glorify things God hates. Why is there so many different angles and debates connected to this topic?? It feels like I go through absolute chaos with my kids trying to explain what God showed me when I asked. Even if you do a history of masks they are used for evil witch doctors wore them then bank robbers and then there was a serial killer that used to take the faces off his victims and wear their faces as a mask the same way people wear faces of celebrities as mask very very creepy.
Unfortunately my Christian mom informed me that in her spirit she felt it was wrong and couldn't find it in the Bible as something Christians do. But since all my friends and neighborhood kids celebrated it and we were new to the neighborhood just moved in and I was invited by kids i wanted to be friends with ....she allowed me after I begged and pressured her. But it is my one regret that I participated for 3 years 7-10 yoa. I regret it. Christians are to be set apart. My mom did what she could with a stubborn kid but I wish she had stuck with her convictions. But i love her for still raising me as a believer in Christ. So at least there was tension regarding Halloween celebrations in my house. At 10 years old I knew it was wrong and it wasn't fun. I believe it was GOD making it NOT fun.
Same but it was never a “holiday” in my country but nowadays because we are so Americanized some people are having Halloween parties but for adults and they dress provocative and seductive.

@@autumnfaith4601 We read scriptures at home and watched Biblical movies instead. Also fasted during that day. It did affect me as a kid, I was always wondering why others celebrated it. I also never watched horror movies so the thought of Halloween was unappealing to me even when I was little. I would even stay at home instead of going to school on Halloween. My family wasn’t perfect but as long as you follow God that’s what truly matters.
We stopped celebrating two years ago.. we knew for many years the origins but church culture just says.. “ahh don’t be too religious.” Realized compromise isnt about religion it’s about relationship so we are DONE.

I taught my Wednesday class over this. It was all youth who were getting ready to go out this weekend for Halloween or parties etc. God really put it on my heart to speak to them about this and give them history on the origins. I pray it touches their hearts. Even if it's only a handful.
As a single parent of teens, I really appreciate and praise God for your class. Please be encouraged that you are touching lives even if it might not look so, believe me, I would be the first to drag my sons to your class and pray for ears to hear! They need to know.

Absolutely not, for what does darkness have to do with light? It's disturbing to see, that the skeletons of GIANTS are all the rage now outside of houses here in Grand Rapids Michigan. People don't understand that the giants are coming back, hence years ago, Hollywood released "Jack and the giant beanstalk." If you've seen it, it's mind blowing. No wonder Jesus warned "men's hearts failing them for what's coming upon the Earth." ❤
Guys, it's starting. I was nearly attacked by a young, largish, man dressed in a white thobe in the early dark this morning. I walk the neighborhood and pray early mornings. The Holy Spirit told me to go a different way and not be predictable. I cut down another street. I sat on a bench in a small park, the Holy Spirit urged me to face a certain direction, but I felt uneasy about behind me. I obeyed anyway. "Sing your prayers and praise," He said. I didn't want to wake people. I sang softly. "Sing louder. Now." I obeyed. I heard a rustling but couldn't see anything. I kept singing, stirring up the Spirit. Words were coming out of my mouth, calling for Jesus' presence. "Pray for your enemies, bless your enemies." I saw a man's shadow running (because of the direction I was facing) and turned toward the light source behind me. I still couldn't see anything. A tree's trunk was creating a blind spot. I got up and saw a man rushing toward me using the tree to block my view of his approach. I kept singing, blessing this man, praying for his salvation as I faced him. He stopped about 40 feet from me and doubled over and wretched. He was wearing a curious white "dress" which I discovered online was an Islamic garment (thobe). He tried to take another step toward me, bent and wreched more. I prayed louder. His wretching reminded me of when people are getting delivered. Evil cannot be in the presence of the Lord. I did not feel afraid (in that moment). I knew he could not come near. He tried again. He was coughing and wretching hard, then threw his hands up like he surrenders, shook his head and turned and ran away. He looked back a few times and tried to conceal where he was going by crossing the street and standing in driveways I knew were not his. There are some strange things going on in my neighborhood. A man calling himself "Persian" keeps buying houses (he has 6 now) because he wants to move his whole "family" over here. They have so many BMWs, Mercedes, Range Rovers, Escalades, etc. that they cannot fit into his driveway. He runs a small construction business where he works alongside two or three labor workers. They carry heavy safes out of the house, and drive 50mph in this tiny residence. They don't want to associate with anyone and have cameras every few feet on their houses. Something is off. They don't act like normal neighbors. They also don't decorate for Halloween, which is fine by me, but unusual here. Be aware of your surroundings. Strengthen your faith. Obey the voice of the Holy Spirit. There is a practical reason for every one of God's Commandments, and they're all for your good. You must trust and rely on the Lord.

Thats why this person said “listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit” because God knows what is best. If this person didn’t listen, s/he probably would’ve gotten spiritually attacked or physically & s/he wouldn’t be prepared as s/he was. God is truly amazing. He never ceases to amaze me.
I don't know who he was or what he wanted, but he was obviously trying to approach me rapidly and skilled at concealing it. The Holy Spirit was instructing me to do things that didn't make sense, and He was talking more than usual. I had a sense of danger I haven't had there before. There is a war in Isreal, they don't like Christians either (if what he was wearing was a thobe). Men don't typically wear plain, white, long dresses around here. Don't think what is happening elsewhere in the world can't happen here. We already know several countries or factions that hate us are here. I don't think his intentions were friendly. Why did he start puking and couldn't get near, tho he was obviously trying? If he was being motivated by evil then he was about to get delivered or it had to make him back off. God wants that man the same as he wants me or you. We are all precious bought. It's a predicament to love someone who may be trying to hurt you. Only God makes it possible. If I feel fear or anger or hatred Satan can touch me. We're told to bless our enemies, not because we're simpletons, but because it is a sword. This sword protects and delivers. We struggle not with the mankind, but with an evil spirit realm. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. If you're aligned with the Lord you have the best protection in existence. Don't underestimate the power of the Lord, but you have to have a solid relationship with Him. I pray almost constantly, repent daily, thank Him all the time... He had been telling me to stop asking, "why aren't you helping me or protecting me ..?" because I'm facing difficult trials... He said, "You don't know times I've helped or protected you. Thank me, in faith, for helping and protecting you." So I did. And He showed me why obedience matters. This is not a time to be lukewarm, lazy or rebellious. What if I just walked the way I preferred or sat facing the direction I wanted to? It would have been easy to do. Practice obedience now because you need to be good at it when the time comes. You cannot use your own understanding. You must rely on God.
Some do but not all.. Me and my family don't observe Halloween at all. Sadly, Hollywood misrepresents a large part of our nation and misrepresents Christians even more.
Hollywood portrays almost nothing about the reality of what Americans are really like. Including "reality" shows. Hollywood is just propaganda. I was on a Tahitian atol when the ship came that yearly brings supplies to the remote islands and they had the worst music and movies Hollywood ever made for sale and distribution. I was shocked. It was mostly B movies and porn. The islanders thought it was how we really were. How could they have known any different?
Yes, even as a Christian, I used to celebrate Halloween 😔 until about 5 years ago. I stopped simply because PTSD has consumed my life since March of 2019, and depression and anxiety, off and on since 1995. I've lost interest in so many things I used to love. Now, even though I wouldn't celebrate it due to my mental health rolling around in the dirt, I won't be celebrating simply because it does not bring glory to our Savior. ✝️
I had the same issues with ptsd, depression and anxiety. When I i got delivered and healed I realized it was my agreement with things, like Halloween, that caused it. Have nothing to do with darkness. It makes you sick, literally. Get delivered. You can't just stop doing the things that allowed it in, you now have to kick it out. It's a wonderful feeling to be free. I pray you receive it too.

My neighbors this year (Los Angeles) are cluttering their yards with life sized realistic skeletons, monsters and gouls. Walking in the evening is unsettling. They look real. One guy has one hanging from his eaves. His neighbor has one of those cages from days of kings they use to lock criminals in to view as they starved to death and rotted. 100% creepy.
I seen more of ppl hanging dummies this year, and witches life sized. It's getting more obvious and dark but the Lord is on our side. Praying for our children, they are the target with the candy

After I did a shift from my job, there was a house that was a spooked up with animal skeletons for a pet cemetery to even having a spinner where there’s 3 puppets looking like girls spinning around a witch pot. That was VERY concerning that this was not too far from a elementary school
Isaiah, Please pray for my wife. We are torn apart on this every year. We have two young kids and she insists that it’s not bad and “what if we dress them up nice and make it ‘not scary’” I’ve sent her your videos explaining it and it seems as though it goes in one ear and out the other. God already told me he’ll protect my kids cause of my prayers but won’t spare her protection any longer because she knows the truth but denies it. It’s as though she thinks if she turns the opposite way to the truth, then everything bad about this day just magically goes away and that nothing bad can come from this demonic holiday.
I am praying for you and your wife! Praying God opens her ears and removed the scales from her eyes! That she may see that God does delight in his children partaking in darkness disguised as light. I'm praying she recognizes God's call for her to submit to you, especially with something this serious. Years ago, I took two of my little kids to a trunk or treat at a church. My 3 year old ran off suddenly and I couldn't find him in the crowd. I was frantically searching everywhere. I started praying for no harm to come to him and for the angels of the Lord to form a hedge of protection around him. I finally found him. He was picked up by a stranger who said he almost ran out in front of a car, but she was able to grab him in time. I will NEVER forget the absolute terror that came over me during that evening. I felt the Lord ask me why I was there in the first place. My husband is very much against Halloween, even though we both grew up secular and loved Halloween growing up. The Lord impressed on him to really shield us from the potential dangers of it, so we don't celebrate it at all. Even my 7 year old was going to get to go to a fall festival at our church that takes place before Halloween, but when he found out some secular people go with creepy costumes, he told me he didn't want to be around that stuff. He was missing out on candy, hay rides, games, pony rides, etc, but his conviction was stronger! I'm so thankful that he was that same 3 year old in my original story, who (by the grace of God) is still here today serving God with conviction. God is so good!

My husband grew up, not celibrating Halloween. We grew up, my mother tried to make Halloween a chance to witness to others and tried to make it glorify God in some way. I know that now is not possible. Light has no fellowship with darkness… But I really stopped celebrating when my children screamed and cried. When we tried to dress them up to take them trick-or-treating We knew there was something wrong. Why should we force them saying It's fun it is fun. I only have grown to hate Halloween more and more. Through the years I want no part of it, not even a wit.

My new church celebrates Halloween calling it “trunk or treat”, but I’m not in agreement. It’s very frustrating that they can allow any evil to infiltrate the church. This is why the spirit can’t move as willingly as it wants to. It’s a shame that a church can’t be held to a higher standard

Oh yes!!! I'm a Spanish teacher and it's a very popular cultural aspect to talk about to the point it's debated about sending letter home to parents saying that it's a part of cultural study. Before I was filled with the Holy Ghost and born again, I would talk about the tradition in my classroom, we even built an altar as a dedication to their past loved ones, as I thought there wasn't any harm. As of last year I stopped because of conviction. Día de los muertos is VERY demonic and dark. I won't even bring it up in my classroom this year, even the "harmless" side of it. They celebrate at my church, they have a party inside the church and call it the Hallelujah party and that really bothers me. I sent this video to my pastor's wife in hopes that this would strike something in them. we're praying for miracles and signs and wonders in the church and I'm afraid that celebrating this could keep the Holy Spirit from moving.

I used to be a big fan of Halloween. I spent hundreds of dollars on decorations and stuff. But when I became a Christian the Lord freed me from the occult of Halloween. I had decorations up and the Lord told me to take my Halloween decorations down and throw it in the trash. I haven't been into Halloween since then.

We always had Halloween parties at our house for the kids. They were more like friendly and fun Fall costume parties with games, pizza, dunking for apples, popcorn balls, caramel apples, etc. It was a lot of fun and no scary costumes.

As a Pagan, I have to say it's amusing watching the fundamentalists Christians get their knickers in a bunch over Halloween. Many of us celebrate Samhain as one of our most important festival days where we honor our ancestors and the cycles of nature. It's a somber ritual, often involving a ritual supper in which the dead are invited and no words are spoken for the length of the meal. Most of us like Halloween as well, but it is not the same thing. It is a commercial and cultural holiday for kids to indulge their creativity and imagination and to get some free candy. Celebrating Halloween no more makes you a Pagan than my attending a Macy's Christmas sale would make me a Christian.

Unfortunately my Christian mom informed me that in her spirit she felt it was wrong and couldn't find it in the Bible as something Christians do. But since all my friends and neighborhood kids celebrated it and we were new to the neighborhood just moved in and I was invited by kids i wanted to be friends with ....she allowed me after I begged and pressured her. But it is my one regret that I participated for 3 years 7-10 yoa. I regret it. Christians are to be set apart. My mom did what she could with a stubborn kid but I wish she had stuck with her convictions. But i love her for still raising me as a believer in Christ. So at least there was tension regarding Halloween celebrations in my house. At 10 years old I knew it was wrong and it wasn't fun. I believe it was GOD making it NOT fun.

I also never watched horror movies so the thought of Halloween was unappealing to me even when I was little. I would even stay at home instead of going to school on Halloween. My family wasn’t perfect but as long as you follow God that’s what truly matters.

Underrated verse
I taught my Wednesday class over this. It was all youth who were getting ready to go out this weekend for Halloween or parties etc. God really put it on my heart to speak to them about this and give them history on the origins. I pray it touches their hearts. Even if it's only a handful.
As a single parent of teens, I really appreciate and praise God for your class. Please be encouraged that you are touching lives even if it might not look so, believe me, I would be the first to drag my sons to your class and pray for ears to hear! They need to know.

Guys, it's starting. I was nearly attacked by a young, largish, man dressed in a white thobe in the early dark this morning.
I walk the neighborhood and pray early mornings. The Holy Spirit told me to go a different way and not be predictable. I cut down another street. I sat on a bench in a small park, the Holy Spirit urged me to face a certain direction, but I felt uneasy about behind me. I obeyed anyway. "Sing your prayers and praise," He said. I didn't want to wake people. I sang softly. "Sing louder. Now." I obeyed. I heard a rustling but couldn't see anything. I kept singing, stirring up the Spirit. Words were coming out of my mouth, calling for Jesus' presence. "Pray for your enemies, bless your enemies." I saw a man's shadow running (because of the direction I was facing) and turned toward the light source behind me. I still couldn't see anything. A tree's trunk was creating a blind spot. I got up and saw a man rushing toward me using the tree to block my view of his approach. I kept singing, blessing this man, praying for his salvation as I faced him. He stopped about 40 feet from me and doubled over and wretched. He was wearing a curious white "dress" which I discovered online was an Islamic garment (thobe). He tried to take another step toward me, bent and wreched more. I prayed louder. His wretching reminded me of when people are getting delivered. Evil cannot be in the presence of the Lord. I did not feel afraid (in that moment). I knew he could not come near. He tried again. He was coughing and wretching hard, then threw his hands up like he surrenders, shook his head and turned and ran away. He looked back a few times and tried to conceal where he was going by crossing the street and standing in driveways I knew were not his.
There are some strange things going on in my neighborhood. A man calling himself "Persian" keeps buying houses (he has 6 now) because he wants to move his whole "family" over here. They have so many BMWs, Mercedes, Range Rovers, Escalades, etc. that they cannot fit into his driveway. He runs a small construction business where he works alongside two or three labor workers. They carry heavy safes out of the house, and drive 50mph in this tiny residence. They don't want to associate with anyone and have cameras every few feet on their houses. Something is off. They don't act like normal neighbors. They also don't decorate for Halloween, which is fine by me, but unusual here.
Be aware of your surroundings. Strengthen your faith. Obey the voice of the Holy Spirit. There is a practical reason for every one of God's Commandments, and they're all for your good. You must trust and rely on the Lord.

Thats why this person said “listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit” because God knows what is best. If this person didn’t listen, s/he probably would’ve gotten spiritually attacked or physically & s/he wouldn’t be prepared as s/he was. God is truly amazing. He never ceases to amaze me.
I don't know who he was or what he wanted, but he was obviously trying to approach me rapidly and skilled at concealing it.
The Holy Spirit was instructing me to do things that didn't make sense, and He was talking more than usual.
I had a sense of danger I haven't had there before.
There is a war in Isreal, they don't like Christians either (if what he was wearing was a thobe). Men don't typically wear plain, white, long dresses around here. Don't think what is happening elsewhere in the world can't happen here. We already know several countries or factions that hate us are here.

Why did he start puking and couldn't get near, tho he was obviously trying? If he was being motivated by evil then he was about to get delivered or it had to make him back off.
God wants that man the same as he wants me or you. We are all precious bought. It's a predicament to love someone who may be trying to hurt you. Only God makes it possible.

We're told to bless our enemies, not because we're simpletons, but because it is a sword. This sword protects and delivers. We struggle not with the mankind, but with an evil spirit realm. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
If you're aligned with the Lord you have the best protection in existence. Don't underestimate the power of the Lord, but you have to have a solid relationship with Him. I pray almost constantly, repent daily, thank Him all the time... He had been telling me to stop asking, "why aren't you helping me or protecting me ..?" because I'm facing difficult trials... He said, "You don't know times I've helped or protected you. Thank me, in faith, for helping and protecting you." So I did. And He showed me why obedience matters. This is not a time to be lukewarm, lazy or rebellious. What if I just walked the way I preferred or sat facing the direction I wanted to? It would have been easy to do. Practice obedience now because you need to be good at it when the time comes. You cannot use your own understanding. You must rely on God.

Some do but not all.. Me and my family don't observe Halloween at all. Sadly, Hollywood misrepresents a large part of our nation and misrepresents Christians even more.

Hollywood portrays almost nothing about the reality of what Americans are really like. Including "reality" shows. Hollywood is just propaganda. I was on a Tahitian atol when the ship came that yearly brings supplies to the remote islands and they had the worst music and movies Hollywood ever made for sale and distribution. I was shocked. It was mostly B movies and porn. The islanders thought it was how we really were. How could they have known any different?
Yes, even as a Christian, I used to celebrate Halloween 😔 until about 5 years ago. I stopped simply because PTSD has consumed my life since March of 2019, and depression and anxiety, off and on since 1995. I've lost interest in so many things I used to love. Now, even though I wouldn't celebrate it due to my mental health rolling around in the dirt, I won't be celebrating simply because it does not bring glory to our Savior. ✝️
I had the same issues with ptsd, depression and anxiety. When I i got delivered and healed I realized it was my agreement with things, like Halloween, that caused it. Have nothing to do with darkness. It makes you sick, literally. Get delivered. You can't just stop doing the things that allowed it in, you now have to kick it out. It's a wonderful feeling to be free. I pray you receive it too.

My neighbors this year (Los Angeles) are cluttering their yards with life sized realistic skeletons, monsters and gouls. Walking in the evening is unsettling. They look real. One guy has one hanging from his eaves. His neighbor has one of those cages from days of kings they use to lock criminals in to view as they starved to death and rotted. 100% creepy.
I seen more of ppl hanging dummies this year, and witches life sized. It's getting more obvious and dark but the Lord is on our side. Praying for our children, they are the target with the candy

After I did a shift from my job, there was a house that was a spooked up with animal skeletons for a pet cemetery to even having a spinner where there’s 3 puppets looking like girls spinning around a witch pot. That was VERY concerning that this was not too far from a elementary school

I’ve sent her your videos explaining it and it seems as though it goes in one ear and out the other. God already told me he’ll protect my kids cause of my prayers but won’t spare her protection any longer because she knows the truth but denies it. It’s as though she thinks if she turns the opposite way to the truth, then everything bad about this day just magically goes away and that nothing bad can come from this demonic holiday.

I'm praying she recognizes God's call for her to submit to you, especially with something this serious. Years ago, I took two of my little kids to a trunk or treat at a church. My 3 year old ran off suddenly and I couldn't find him in the crowd. I was frantically searching everywhere. I started praying for no harm to come to him and for the angels of the Lord to form a hedge of protection around him. I finally found him. He was picked up by a stranger who said he almost ran out in front of a car, but she was able to grab him in time. I will NEVER forget the absolute terror that came over me during that evening. I felt the Lord ask me why I was there in the first place.
My husband is very much against Halloween, even though we both grew up secular and loved Halloween growing up. The Lord impressed on him to really shield us from the potential dangers of it, so we don't celebrate it at all. Even my 7 year old was going to get to go to a fall festival at our church that takes place before Halloween, but when he found out some secular people go with creepy costumes, he told me he didn't want to be around that stuff. He was missing out on candy, hay rides, games, pony rides, etc, but his conviction was stronger! I'm so thankful that he was that same 3 year old in my original story, who (by the grace of God) is still here today serving God with conviction. God is so good!

My husband grew up, not celibrating Halloween. We grew up, my mother tried to make Halloween a chance to witness to others and tried to make it glorify God in some way. I know that now is not possible. Light has no fellowship with darkness… But I really stopped celebrating when my children screamed and cried. When we tried to dress them up to take them trick-or-treating We knew there was something wrong. Why should we force them saying It's fun it is fun.
I only have grown to hate Halloween more and more. Through the years I want no part of it, not even a wit.

My new church celebrates Halloween calling it “trunk or treat”, but I’m not in agreement. It’s very frustrating that they can allow any evil to infiltrate the church. This is why the spirit can’t move as willingly as it wants to. It’s a shame that a church can’t be held to a higher standard

Oh yes!!! I'm a Spanish teacher and it's a very popular cultural aspect to talk about to the point it's debated about sending letter home to parents saying that it's a part of cultural study. Before I was filled with the Holy Ghost and born again, I would talk about the tradition in my classroom, we even built an altar as a dedication to their past loved ones, as I thought there wasn't any harm. As of last year I stopped because of conviction. Día de los muertos is VERY demonic and dark. I won't even bring it up in my classroom this year, even the "harmless" side of it. It just doesn't sit right with my spirit.

They celebrate at my church, they have a party inside the church and call it the Hallelujah party and that really bothers me. I sent this video to my pastor's wife in hopes that this would strike something in them. we're praying for miracles and signs and wonders in the church and I'm afraid that celebrating this could keep the Holy Spirit from moving.

I used to be a big fan of Halloween. I spent hundreds of dollars on decorations and stuff. But when I became a Christian the Lord freed me from the occult of Halloween. I had decorations up and the Lord told me to take my Halloween decorations down and throw it in the trash. I haven't been into Halloween since then.
This just gave my hope! You literally had them up when you got saved! My neighborhood is so decked out right now, but you just broke my sense of defeat! Broke it off!

We always had Halloween parties at our house for the kids. They were more like friendly and fun Fall costume parties with games, pizza, dunking for apples, popcorn balls, caramel apples, etc. It was a lot of fun and no scary costumes.
I'm one of the " ' NO. We should NOT .. ! ' '' crowd because in 2003, the Lord showed me some info and told me that samhein is the biggest day for human sacrifice. Second biggest is Dec. 25th. Third is 'easter'. I don't celebrate any of these at all anymore. My family thinks I'm 'crazy' but .. no ... My children are raised in the word and understand what Halloween is really all about and if you asked them if they wished they could celebrate it they would tell you no. They do not desire to serve Satan and we don’t eat candy in our house anyways. If it’s about the candy then by it and give it to your kids. I have never understood how anyone could have a sick desire to scare children!! Ppl tell their kids 364 days a year to not take candy from strangers but then one day a year tell them it’s totally ok and then think that they won’t justify it to themselves if a stranger offers it to them another day!!

As a Pagan, I have to say it's amusing watching the fundamentalists Christians get their knickers in a bunch over Halloween.
Many of us celebrate Samhain as one of our most important festival days where we honor our ancestors and the cycles of nature. It's a somber ritual, often involving a ritual supper in which the dead are invited and no words are spoken for the length of the meal.
Most of us like Halloween as well, but it is not the same thing. It is a commercial and cultural holiday for kids to indulge their creativity and imagination and to get some free candy.
Celebrating Halloween no more makes you a Pagan than my attending a Macy's Christmas sale would make me a Christian.

This is one time a year where hundreds of lost people will potentially come to your churches. and you could be giving them the gospel. You don't have to celebrate the day but use the day to spread the word give candy to the kids and hand out salvation tracks to the parents . We must bring light in the darkness.
