And that's a wrap! Thank you to all who joined me live for this premiere! It was very fun, as always! The next premiere should probably be for Yuri's Nendoroid, and I will give a bigger heads-up so more people can see it in time. Catch you all then, and have a lovely rest of your Sunday!
@@the_clover_star Ha ha, yep! Glad you liked it! I honestly struggled to come up with a good tag title for the thumbnail on this one. But I figured I couldn’t go wrong with numbering them in order vs saying “first for so in so” every time, so I rolled with it. At the very least, I do like the font style/color much better than what I did for Monika’s thumbnail. The gold and red turned out really eye catching it seems.
I feel that. She sold out so fast unless you had her pre-ordered or watched like a hawk on GS/their partner stores. I hope you can find her for a good price at some point in the future! 🍀
Ooh, I think GS definitely improved with Sayori, when compared to Monika at least. I've always had a soft spot for Sayo's Plus design, and this figure does it justice. Makes me more excited for a certain missing lavender lady- Anyways, I always like the detail and explanations you do in these reviews, so keep it up! I also liked the Ash ASMR and the chibi Sayo at the end, lol. I wish I could make it to more of these premiers, though. 🥲 I usually can't tell when they're happening... By the way, out of pure curiosity, how do you have your DDLC Nendoroids displayed? Are they interacting with each other, or just kinda doing their own thing? I've changed the whole groups poses around like 9 times, but right now I just have them in a set up based on the Reflection Side Story, since it's my fav. :)
@@inky7437 Ah, thank you as always for your kind words, Inky! Glad you like my descriptions, haha! One of my favorite parts of making reviews is describing/highlighting an item, so it makes me happy that someone else likes them too^^ I certainly can yap, but if it’s useful, I can get away with it lol. Sorry about the premieres. Tbh, I don’t know how good a job YT does at notifying my subscribers sometimes. I guess it doesn’t show my community tab or the premiere tab soon enough for everyone to see. 😓 Also, probably didn’t help I premiered this review so late on a Sunday. Guess people aren’t on YT on Sundays as much as I thought. But not to worry, for Yuri’s nendoroid review I plan on releasing a teaser trailer AND a community post at least a week in advance, so hopefully everyone gets to join in then. As for my display, I have two options I swap them between. One I have on a shelf above my stop motion set by my desk (I like having them by me while I work, lol). I normally use that shelf to store figures when not animating, but for them, I have their backdrops out to act as little rooms for them. I don’t normally pose them interacting here since It’s easier to keep them idle, but they can still peak over and have room parties, haha. When I’m gone, need to clean the shelf, not needed for an animation, etc. I take them to a shelf in my room I call the “Nendo Lounge.” It’s basically a large custom display I made for all my nendoroids to chill and interact with each other when I’m not animating/just want to display them! It’s not fully complete yet, but I’m trying to incorporate elements to accommodate each nendo in my collection. For the Dokis, I am working on a library for them, so I usually have them posed in there. Might change it up as release more of my babies I think they would like to meet, but that’s what I have for now! I probably still sound really crazy for being so extra with them, but it’s better than putting them on an acrylic riser and calling it a day (nothing wrong with displays like that, though. They look very clean and organized. If it’s a big collection, that’s all you can do to show everyone, too. I’m just lucky to have the room to spice up my display since I don’t have +100, yet, lol.) Also, your current display sounds SO PERECIOUS!!! 🥹 That’s a great side story choice, and I bet it looks so cute with them!!! Oh, also…. THE MONIKA WHITE DRESS PUP JUST RELEASED TONIGHT AND SHE’S GORGEOUS!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Like, it’s way too late at night for me to be this excited still, but I just had to tell someone about it! I would love to hear your final thoughts on her and her bonus when you get a chance.
@@LuigisToyBox Thanks, Luigi! And you're right; You can yap up a storm, but it's yapping with ~substance~! It's a big difference. And you can BET I will be there for Nendo Yuri's premiere (As long as I'm not at work or school of course)! Can't wait to hear you go in detail about her, too. I don't usually get notified when you're doing a premiere but uploading a teaser trailer would be much easier for me to prepare for it. Your Nendo Lounge idea is also so creative! That's what I love about small collections. Sure, you could jam 50 Nendos in a glass case and call it a day, but I feel like you get much more freedom in how you want to display a small number of figures. And you don't have to worry about it looking cluttered. It forces you to get creative with the empty space in a way that's pleasing to the eye, while not looking like a wasteland. It's fun to see how collectors make it work! It's something I'm still working on, actually. I love themed collections, so my set up is currently separated into a "cute" side and "cool" side: The cute side has brighter, pastel colors, and the cool side has darker, moody colors. Funnily enough, the only problem is Yuri because she stands out against the bright pinks, blues, and greens on the cute side. But I can't just separate her from her friends- Alright, Alright. As for the White Dress Monika PUP, I feel so conflicted on whether I want her or not! On one hand, she would look great in my collection, and she's PRETTY, but I just don't feel convinced enough to put that pre-order down. Maybe it's because of how simple the sculpt/pose is? And after getting all the Nendoroids, I kind of felt a sense of closure. I have all the girls represented in my collection already, so do I really need more? Or maybe I should wait for a more grandiose, cooler figure? I'm still getting Yuri's PUP of course because I'm biased, but I just like to make sure I *truly* want these things (Or perhaps it's not that deep and I'm just worried about having too many anime girls in a guy's room, lol). But that's the dilemma that comes with passing up new DDLC merch, right? You have to be absolutely sure you don't want it, because if you change your mind, it's probably too late to get it for a half decent price. Anyway, I think the pre-order bonus is fine, too! It's what all pre-order bonuses should be: unnecessary, but cool, extras. I'm kind of hoping there's some special poem hidden inside it, but it's probably just your average notebook... It seems I was very motivated to write this comment, haha, but I know you enjoy these by now, so I'm not worried (Character growth, yippee). I'm happy you're so excited for everything, though! Looking forward to your thoughts on whatever comes next.
@@inky7437 Haha, "yapping with substance," I like that description. 😂 Ah, ty! I totally agree with you there. Some of the most interesting setups come from smaller collectors who have to work with a certain amount of space. The only downside to the lounge is regular dusting since my shelves don't have glass panels. This isn't too big of a problem as I like to move them around regularly, but delicate dusting can easily take me several hours as I like to get personal with my figures, lol. Talking to them, fiddling around with poses, and dusting the space are all just part of the process for me. I have the same problem with my Pokemon figures, too. I just feel it's important to give everyone a little bit of my time and attention so they feel seen, ya know? They may be inanimate plastic objects, but if you love them enough, they feel like your babies, so it just happens naturally. Ah, I love to look at themed collections, too! I can never seem to pull it off super aesthetically, but when I've seen it done well, it's almost as satisfying as a straight-A report card! I especially love to see color themed collections^^ Your themed collection setup sounds really awesome! You have a combo of both color and content going on, so it's got it all. But for some reason, I could picture the figures on the cool side trying to convince Yuri to join them, Star Wars-style. "Yuri... come to the cool side... we have tea, chocolate, and raccoons over here~" But I respect that you make her the only exception to your rule in favor of keeping the club together. Sometimes... sub-classes are more important than the full collection theme, haha. Hmmm, that's fair. They really didn't change much from her painted prototype stage except for a bit of refining in the hair and face, so I don't know what I was expecting to change either. Now that I have calmed down from my initial frenzy, I must admit the skirt still bothers me. It just floats out oddly to me and would have looked better with a twist or a twirl instead. But I can see what you mean with the pose, too. It is rather static compared to her first figure, when they could have based it off the art piece and did an over-the-shoulder shot instead. That would have been pretty cute ngl... But I still stand by the idea that this should have been a scale figure and not a PUP. It is a beautiful design that deserves better than PUP status to properly show detail and quality. Not saying that PUPs aren't nice, but they are cheaper for a reason and can only capture so much detail for their price range. So I can feel your sentiment on that front. But if you feel like you are content with your DDLC collection (minus PUP Yuri for now), then there is no reason to push yourself. Yes, she is charming, but if she's not your favorite, then it's ok to take a pass. Either that or you could pre-order her just to be safe, but if you change your mind, she should sell pretty well after the fact. If you got the bonus, too, it would be a good investment and increase her value if you decided to resell. But then again, selling is a pain in the butt, so it's back to square one again. If anything, I fear they will keep making more and more expensive DDLC figures, and I will feel compelled to collect them all! The FOMO is real with any DDLC merch, but especially with the GoodSmile figures. It's like a weird obligation I have to them and also the channel, as I know everyone expects me to review them. I am more than happy to oblige since I enjoy making them, but it makes you feel like you can never say no to the Dokis sometimes. But at the very least, the PUPs aren't very expensive, so it's not too hard on the wallet. However, I fear the scale figures. O - O And hey, as long as you're not one of those guys who have wall-to-wall bunny girl and bikini girl scale figures, then you are just fine, haha. A few completely normal anime girl figures should be no issue, but I can see where you're coming from. It's very easy for people to get the wrong idea in this day and age. And a fun fact: Monika’s new PUP wasn't even sculpted by the same person who did the first Monika and Sayori PUP! It's a wholly different sculptor, which I can kind of see in the bangs and facial sculpt, but that dress is definitely lacking since Ketia mastered the idea with Sayori. Perhaps this new sculptor specializes in dresses or fancy PUPs, which is why they switched? Or maybe Ketia was busy with other models, so they gave the opportunity to a new sculptor since Monika already had one previously? I guess we'll never know, but it's interesting to think about. I still hope Ketia gets to do Yuri and Natsuki, tho, for collection's sake!!! The bonus though... that I wasn't expecting. Like the idea is cute, as mini notebooks are nice, but it's only 20 pages, so it's more like a glorified pamphlet than anything, lol. I still really like the cover deco, though, and the idea of an exclusive poem hidden on the inside flap is tempting. Either way, I must have it, so I guess I'll be waiting till May of 2025 for her since it takes forever for PUPs to get to the US store... - _ - Sorry, AmiAmi... I got so panicked at first, thinking she was a GoodSmile exclusive and would sell out super fast, but it's only the bonus being a US store thing that earned her that title... way to make me have a double heart attack GS, lol. Oof, it seems I was very motivated to write to you as well, lol. I had a lot more thoughts than I originally thought! But hooray for your character growth! Thank you, as always, for your time and input, and I'm glad to have you here with us for more exciting DDLC developments in the future! I look forward to sharing^^
