Thanks for being honest about the difficulty of this job and for posting it even though it didn't go as planned. I've been working on vehicles for 20+ years and when I looked at the truck I thought it was going to be a pain to do even though belts should be one of the easier things to do on a vehicle. So I came to YT to see if anyone had some slick tricks to make it go quick. Good to know my assumption was right and glad you posted this video.
I did this for first time recently 08 6.7. What a Pita!! Had to use pipe on ratchet to get the tensioner released. Very little room. Threw it in my truck box in case I have to do it on the road. Later found a long flat bar tensioner release tool at Harbor Freight. Now I'm carrying it. Appears it will clear shroud much better than pipe/ratchet. 👍💪
Raither than pushing the tensioner to get the loop over it its much easier to just loosen the tensioner bolt till its almost off but not quite. Getting around the fan pulley is just a bear.
You mean like the radiator, intercooler, etc? No, that’s not required. You can remove the fan shroud to improve your view and access to things but it’s not required.

Just installed gates kit for my 05 5.9....idler pulley...tensioner...green belt!
Right on, thanks for watching
Better to struggle in your own driveway instead of on the side of the road somewhere if it breaks.
You’re right about that!
Did you have to take all the front end stuff off to do this job

You showed nothing!
where did you start with the new belt on installing it?
The first thing I did was get the new belt onto the tensioner pulley
What’s #6 on the diagram called?
This is the AC compressor
Where did you find the belt diagram?
Dude why did u even record you showed absolutely nothing only that your truck runs and drive I learned nothing
