I feel like they should be legally reqiired to rename "just cotton" to "*mostly* cotton."
I can envision someone missing the 85% cotton small print, using it as a hot pad, and melting their hot pad.
I do love premier yarns though and i'm really glad it's so accessible to people with lower incomes.

Our dollar tree doesn't have hooks either. I am going to keep an eye out for them. When Premier came out the bigger skeins on their site, it turned out to be more yardage for the money. I do love the Just Yarn. Thanks for another great video.

Great video- thank you. I love the Dollar Tree yarn for small projects like amigurumi where I need smaller quantities but I honestly think you can get better value with value yarn at sales prices from Michaels or Joanne's when you need yarn for a decent size project. Haven't seen anyone talk about this yet but it might be something to think about covering in a future video. Enjoy your down to earth style and content. Have a great day!

Hi Ginger, every time I wonder where you are, you pop up either later that day or the next.
I wish the $1.25 tree stores in my area had at least half the yarn in yours and as neat as that. I’ve lots of their yarn when they just came out w/them years ago, also have those hooks and honestly, I love them as much or more than some of my more expensive ones.
Thank you for taking us along with/you, showing what you made w/the yarn and how the hooks work. All in all a really great video. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Dollar tree yarn is made by Premier and if you are short on $$$ usually you can squeeze out 1 or 2 bucks at a time. Buying enough yarn for a blanket might cost more all at once, but it’s like a lay away plan! I always pick up 5 or 6 skeins when I am there.

I don't thing Dollar Tree yarn is a good buy... if I go to hobby lobby with $10 I get more yarn especially if is 30% off week. Dollar tree yarn is a good thing if a friend wants to lean to knit or crochet and you make a kit , or a kit for a person that is in the hospital, or a emergency ( like you are on a trip and you forget you yarn bag LOL) then you can get 2-3 skeins and make one or two hats... I would not buy to stash away!

Thanks for sharing and wow you are very lucky your dollar tree is so well stocked and has yarn and hooks. The ones in my area do not have hooks and usually do not have yarn and if they do its one little box and its all a mess. If I find 2 skeins I am lucky. The plus yarn I used 3 strands of it and made a furry figure - amigurumi, pattern from the loopy lamb. I made the little owl ornament and showed it in one of my youtube videos. So you can use 2 or 3 strands of that yarn and make amigurmis, especially with her Crochetfurryfriends book. 😊 I am also hosting and just started an informal swatch stitch along on my youtube channel. ❤

Loving the squares! Your little rug, is a great bathroom or bedroom size. The plastic hooks tips at the hook are too pointy, and would tend to snag. Boye’s plastic hooks are designed like that. Too frustrating and tend to snag and split yarn. The ergonomic ones, I may have to try. I have a set of Clover hooks, they were a gift. I can’t use them. I just can’t get the hang of the short, flat plastic handle. These look like they might be a bit longer. They aren’t any where near as expensive as the clover hooks, and I could donate them if they don’t work out. Really, really, loving the squares, I am thinking about making some blankets, too. The local dollar tree does have these yarns. Your video popped up in my recommended videos today. What luck! I enjoyed spending time with you. Thank you. 🕊💕🕯😇🙏🏻💚

So after we noticed some of the dollar stores had yarn, my husband and I went out to different ones weekly sometimes and I gathered enough and made a blanket just out of the dollar store yarn. It was so soft. It was worth it in my opinion, plus the time we.got to spend together getting the yarn. Praise Jesus, what a wonderful thing. I havent tried the crochet hooks there tho. I realized after many buys that I kinda stick to clover as a go to. Thanks.for the video.

Their just chenille is really good for making scrunchies, although i would consider it more of a 5 weight instead of a 6, it's a little thin. Not a fan of the cotton though , its only 85% and it seems to be little thinner than other cotton yarns. That polyester isn't going to fare up well in hot water. These are great low-cost skeins for beginners and folks who just want to dabble in the craft though! You are so right with the crafter's square feeling like a heavy 3, I really don't feel like it's a true 4 and it crochets up as somewhere in between. Not so bad for us experienced crocheters, as we have an inbuilt sense to know when to adjust a pattern accordingly, but I can imagine beginners might be upset with a hat that's too tight or a scarf that works up too short.

My DT hasn't had this much yarn in at least a year, or more.
I have to say that i have most of these but i have bought very little since they went to 1.25. Additionally, the just cotton (maybe the others, too) skeins have gotten even smaller.
Consequently, the value just isn't what it once was and i can get value cotton and acrylic for cheaper elsewhere.
At this point, the only reason i would keep buying the just yarn is for a small project where i want a bunch of different colors in small amounts.

Hi Ginger. None of our Dollar Tree stores carry any amount of yarns. It is sad

The premier yarn is a well know brand of yarn and is very good

I'm surprised at the amount of yarn there. I have to check out the dollar tree in Detroit wow

Yes! It doesn’t hurt to check! If it’s a ways away, you might want to call the store first to see if they have it so you don’t waste a trip. Some of the DTs around me have quite a bit of yarn and some don’t have any. Have a great day!! 🥰

Haven't ever looked at Dollar Tree. I'll stop by one this week. And how about "Test WIP"?

We have 2 Dollar Trees in my area, but they are both on the small side & there isn't any yarn or needles, etc. :(

People need to pay attention to the yardage. The prices went up, and the yardage seems to have gone down. The basic yarn used to be at least 131 yards if I'm not mistaken... and now it's 109 and less?? If people want to take one the challenge, try actually measure a couple of skeins to see what the actual measurements are. It's a nice yarn, but the skeins should be consistently at least 131 yards or greater.
