This may not seem like the traditional RE games in any way except experimental chemicals, and viruses, but I think the story exceeds any other RE ever made.
The story in this game kind of sucked. There are some huge plot holes. Lucas for one is a main villain that ends up disappearing. Ethan, the main character in RE7 kills the father, the mother and we see the daughter die if you give her the serum to cure her. However the son, Lucas, is practically forgotten. Lucas forces Ethan to figure out the puzzle room that he needs to escape from, then that's it. After Ethan escapse the puzzle room, Lucas is gone from the storyline and is completely forgotten. Then you fight the father one more time, then go through some kind of mine which for whatever reason has a tunnel that leads right back to the Bakers house, then you fight Evelin, which at this point is the grandma and turns into a huge ass tentacle monster. I'm pretty sure the game devs made a huge story change somewhere towards the middle to end of development. During the playable demos, the game made it seem that the person who was calling Ethan on the phone was someone who was devious as if she was toying with Ethan. Then when we get the final product, it turns out that the person calling him is Zoe who's also a victim of what's going on and needs Ethan to get the parts for the serum so they can all escape. The story was lacking, the gameplay was ok. Overall i would have preferred an old school RE 1,2,3 type of game.
Nah, the game lore is solid, you just didn't check enough files to catch up. Here's the thing, Lucas was recruited as an agent for the unknown company Mia worked for, (You can read about at the laptop) this is why he wasn't under Eveline's influence (They gave him a suppressant) after Ethan manages to leave the ship and eavesdrop at the radio, a merc tells another soldier that "Redfield, was looking for Lucas at the salt mines" the mine was mentioned in a book (In the same shelter of the radio?) it was a 1800's construction. I knew Eveline was the Grandma since the moment I landed my eyes into that photo "EVE - 001" no Baker family member ever mentioned the Grandma.
We still have no idea what happened to him (Lucas). Then there's the part where Ethan's hand was cut off and stapled back on. So either he was infected and somehow left the house without needing a serum, which doesn't make sense. Or he wasn't infected, so how the fuck did he have full use of his hand when it was only stapled back on? Then there's the lazy writing that came with the choice between giving the serum to Mia or Zoe. Despite the choice you make Zoe dies regardless and you continue through the tanker part as Mia. There's practically no difference in the story progression regardless of the choice you make. Like i said. Gameplay is good. I personally prefer the old games (1, 2, 3) MOSTLY because I really liked the story in those three games. I was also getting motion sickness as well. That's more a fault of mine than the games. The story on the other hand was lackluster.
We'll probably find out about his fate on the next most likely action packed FPS dlc "Not a hero" Ethan was indeed infected (That's why he had visions) the thing with the mold infection is that it's related to the subject (Eveline) she was the one who ultimately had the power to make people turn or not (Like she did with Mia's partner) since she was dead, Ethan wasn't at risk anymore.
This is why i hate DLC's because it makes the game feel incomplete. No i'm talking about right at the point when Ethan gives Mia/Zoe the serum. When they took the boat to leave the Baker house, they were pretty far away and yet Evelin still had control over them and kills Zoe (if you give her the serum). Why was he able to leave at that point without taking any serum without being killed himself. Also why the hell did Zoe die when she was given the serum? Wasn't the whole point of the serum to cure her of the infection that allowed Evelin to do anything to her....?!??!? That also brings up another point. If Ethan was infected, why would Evelin allow him to kill her when she could have just controlled him like all the Bakers and Mia. way too many plot holes in this story.
when he started movin around and freaking out, it looked like he could've maybe avoided it because he moved pretty far to the right and maybe could've lived

However, here, Lucas didn't just put them in the trap, recorded a message on tape, and left, hoping for the bes-worst. Instead, he directly monitor the whole game, and I think it's not far-fetched to say that in the case of Hoffman ducking to the left, the saw would have just moved downward.

At least in saw, the jigsaw killer doesnt kill people himself, and isnt that sadistic. I have one thing to say about the fact that everybody says he doesnt actually hurt anyone. In the first movie he slices detective Tapp's throat. He doesnt die from it, but that still says he tried.
The amount of online capabilities with this game it's obvious that they could add a online 21 but they could add a hide and seek type game mode where one plays as Ethan and one plays as Jack or magurrite(depending on the location)
I felt like it was drawn out a bit too much. I was beginning to lose interest towards the end because it started to seem like it wasn't even a game for life or death, he was just stalling his inevitable demise.

I knew Eveline was the Grandma since the moment I landed my eyes into that photo "EVE - 001" no Baker family member ever mentioned the Grandma.
We still have no idea what happened to him (Lucas).
Then there's the part where Ethan's hand was cut off and stapled back on. So either he was infected and somehow left the house without needing a serum, which doesn't make sense. Or he wasn't infected, so how the fuck did he have full use of his hand when it was only stapled back on?
Then there's the lazy writing that came with the choice between giving the serum to Mia or Zoe. Despite the choice you make Zoe dies regardless and you continue through the tanker part as Mia. There's practically no difference in the story progression regardless of the choice you make.
Like i said. Gameplay is good. I personally prefer the old games (1, 2, 3) MOSTLY because I really liked the story in those three games. I was also getting motion sickness as well. That's more a fault of mine than the games.
The story on the other hand was lackluster.
We'll probably find out about his fate on the next most likely action packed FPS dlc "Not a hero"
Ethan was indeed infected (That's why he had visions) the thing with the mold infection is that it's related to the subject (Eveline) she was the one who ultimately had the power to make people turn or not (Like she did with Mia's partner) since she was dead, Ethan wasn't at risk anymore.
This is why i hate DLC's because it makes the game feel incomplete.
No i'm talking about right at the point when Ethan gives Mia/Zoe the serum. When they took the boat to leave the Baker house, they were pretty far away and yet Evelin still had control over them and kills Zoe (if you give her the serum). Why was he able to leave at that point without taking any serum without being killed himself. Also why the hell did Zoe die when she was given the serum? Wasn't the whole point of the serum to cure her of the infection that allowed Evelin to do anything to her....?!??!?
That also brings up another point. If Ethan was infected, why would Evelin allow him to kill her when she could have just controlled him like all the Bakers and Mia.

However, here, Lucas didn't just put them in the trap, recorded a message on tape, and left, hoping for the bes-worst. Instead, he directly monitor the whole game, and I think it's not far-fetched to say that in the case of Hoffman ducking to the left, the saw would have just moved downward.

I felt like it was drawn out a bit too much. I was beginning to lose interest towards the end because it started to seem like it wasn't even a game for life or death, he was just stalling his inevitable demise.
This was a surprisingly complex mode, I had a lot of fun with the puzzle/risk-reward mechanic that the trump cards added
