Exactly Hornet 160 shouldn't be discontinued. Im pretty sure if X-blade sales drops drastically they will bring back Hornet 160 BS6 exactly like bringing old Unicorn just because of sales even though Dazzler, Trigger and Unicorn 160 are much updated and better. Lets see.
When you look at it as a bullet proof engine ,highest mileage , low maintenance (even if you skip the service it will run as new) it's your perfect companion.. I'll buy it above the rtr and ns because in the city it can easily keep up with them with zero vibrations!
I bought 160r CBS first edition for ₹95k on road in March 2016, it was the first lot in J&K where I bought it. I'm still a happy customer tho. I've touched the top speed of close to 127kmph.
I demanded for MRFs, because they last longer. If this beautiful machine had a 6th gear, dual channel ABS and a non- rectangular swingarm, like the CB125R and the rest of the lineup, it would have been ranked pretty higher among the "Made in India" mini street fighters out there.
Issues in 160R 2016: 1.comfortable, in what terms? Useless rear suspension 2. Gear lever issue since day 1, can not tap down more than one gear(one by one) at once in case joining a sudden traffic. Need to work the clutch and that breaking sound, gives a mini heart attack. 3. Horn is a joke. Piinp piinp piinnnp seriously a scooter sounds better. 4. Engine heats up like anything, burnt smell in long traffic. You know, gears 1-2-2-1-2-2-3-2-1. Honda's last no-complain bike was Unicorn the 150cc. Later the 3rd class 160cc long stroke narrow bore was a bad idea altogether(CB trigger, useless Unicorn 160, XBlade etc.). Hero has learnt a lot and is better now. Honda CBR 250 was the only good one around. Acceptable and good bike are Else Shine, 110cc commuters done. And the "evergreen" Activa. Has become a joke since some time. Except fanboys and who can actually do something about owned bikes can may be take care and compromise.
Idk why Honda take this legendary beutiful Hornet from 160cc segment and in the name of 160cc bike they gave us ugly looking Honda X Blade .. It's very important segment for every middle class youngsters coz you get best look in budget

I'm a owner of hornet 2.0 and my friend has bought a mt-15 . Hornet accelerates way better than the mt-15 in lower and mid ranges , and it's gearing is way better . For example , you can throttle even in the 3rd and 4th gear and it gives you a brilliant response , in contrast to mt-15 in which you have to be very systematic and downshift and then upshift . The only area where MT is better is the top end .
Hornet 160R looks far better than new 2.0 even without USD forks. Honda should discontinue Xblade (which nobody intrested in) and bring back hornet 160.

I'm an owner of first gen hornet from 2016 and believe me its a gem of bike, Its done around 49000 kms and bike still feels solid, got a nice punch and fairly returns a respectable 52-53 kmpl. Not ridden the 2.0 yet but I don't even feel the need to, ✌️😎

I bought used hornet 160r 17k kms done for 62k inr, from first owner ,minor scratches, minor issues ,im still happy, changed the front sprocket from 15t(stock) to 14t(cbz fromt sprocket), feels more lively , next rear tyre from 140/70 to 140/60 for lighter and flickable feel.
Man the people than have the Hornet 2.0 are very lucky, because for us mexicans, honda send to us the 190R, its a little more larger in the dimensions but there something than i'll dislike the wheelbase is still low, so the muffler can suffer if a damn pothole, the hornet v1 or v2, (mexico called invicta) dont suffer of this, have good wheelbase but the model inst so popular, for the price honda are selling the hornet v1, in 43.000 pesos, with that price you can have a second hand CB190R than are technically a Hornet 2.0 just with another form.
Motorbeam should leave the mileage test on other journalists. Both 160R and 2.0 return far better mileage. I owned the 160R in past both the bikes return 45-50kmpl with thoroughly abusive riding. You should check quality of fuel you are using to get such poor figures.
I would rather buy apache rtr 200 4v at this price point because you can get a better engine better power adjustable folks smart x connect and moreover a bigger and more informative instrumental console.
