Falling asleep is different than passing out. A lot more of going on in the brain -extreme stress- to make someone pass out. Children probably shouldn’t be on slingshot ride. It’s not fun for those children. Obviously
Why shouldnt they be? Like i would be having a blast as a kid, its not like theyre going to die, passing out isnt even dangerous.

Passing out and “falling asleep” is not the same thing.
Tell that to the soldiers in the front lines that developed narcolepsy from the stress of battle. They literally fell asleep just like the little girl.

Knowing the difference between a Roller Coaster and a carnival ride is important....
It should be more a difference between established parks/chains (eg. Six Flags, Disney, etc.) and fairs/carnivals. Most established parks and chains are very safe to go to; safer than driving or riding in a car.
@@bandmfanboy This has nothing to do with a travelling funfair attraction. Accidents do occur anywhere. But 99% of those accidents are not due to mechanic failure, but due to how people use it. The kids passing out at the slingshot are not accidents due to mechanic failure, but as reaction on what happens to their bodies and/or brains. Maybe their parents should not let those kids into these rides. The snapping of the rope on the slingshot looked to me this was in a park and not a travelling funfair. Also (luckily) here nothing happened and this ended safe. The young adults on the duckride did something that the ride was not calculated on or designed for, but still this should never should have happened anyway. Accidents happens everywhere, travelling funfairs or themeparks. It also has nothing to do with the rides themselves. There are lots of same rides made by the same designer for rides, travellers versions as the versions you find in parks. Also most rides are 3-4 times protected. The bolt falling of. Everyone was safe. The ride got repaired and tested and examined before opening again.
@@chris1978nl Yes I know accidents are everywhere, but just because of the moving process, carnival/fair rides are slightly more dangerous than amusement park rides. Anyhow, driving is more dangerous than riding any amusement ride.

These kids are not sleeping, they are passing out due to the gforces a child should never be exposed too. Rule of thumb,, if they don’t reach the shoulder pads probably a bad idea.

I am 100% positive these children are experiencing a Vasovagal syncope (aka fainting).
This actually happened to myself when I was about that age, while riding a roller coaster. I would liken the tunnel vision to an "iris out" technique, like that employed at the end of an old cartoon short. Fortunately, I snapped back into consciousness at the end of the ride, when the coaster train came to a complete stop (as opposed to being 50-100 feet in the air).
Those kids are way too young for that ride. They're terrified.

It is one of the safest roller coasters period. There is a 24 hour maintenance schedule for this ride.

Literally only 1 coaster in this whole video the rest is just slingshots and flat rides
and the coaster in this video is incredibly safe; more safe than riding in a car or an airplane. It was just a POV of Kingda Ka working exactly as it should.
I like how it says this roller coaster should be shut down and it's literally the safest ride in the world. there are thousands of sensors monitoring everything from where the train is and if every single brake fin is in the correct position.

Each ride did what is was designed to do flawlessly. By the way, a rope snapping would happen on a Slingshot at the beginning of the ride because the ride has the most tension at that point. If it were in the air, the cable would have minimal tension since the ride is self-propelled while in the air.
I remember being a kid and hearing a story about the Zipper ride at the Carnival and one fell off of it at the very top.

There are too many stimuli plus those arm/shoulder things (don't know what they're called) which keep you in the seat prevent any peripheral vision. In other words: You can't see what's going on with the person beside you.

The kids on the right on the slingshot ride are those characters from the movies who turns in to really Badass villains when they grow up! When I was a kid, my mom refused to let me go on any of those temporary carnival rides... if the ride wasn’t permanent, I wasn’t going on it.
Back then, I used to get angry, thinking she was preventing me from having fun but now I realize what she was doing is called GOOD PARENTING!!

Green coaster at the end is named Kingda-Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. Keeping my eyes open made my eyelids flap! First 6 seconds you get flung forward 128mph. Feels like you’re dying haha! Uses them launching tech as an aircraft carrier. I’ve also ridden a smaller version of this coaster at Knotts Berry Farm in California.
I’ve ridden front seat on that last ride!! AH-MAZING!!

I’ve ridden it also! Well, not this exact one, but they have a ride that does the exact same thing at an amusement park called Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. It’s called “Top Thrill Dragster” and yes, it is awesome!!!

I've worked for a carnival in the 1970's. When a high shear bolt broke on a ride the owner/operator just replaced it with a deck bolt of equal size from a hardware store. "He'd done it before and it seemed to work okay."

If a ride is so violent it makes someone pass out then it isn't safe to ride as anyone with an un-diagnosed medical condition could die. Not to mention these rides are assembled in just a day or two at various fairgrounds and are apt to break. I never ride these things and it has always amazed me that so many people think these kinds of rides are fun.

I've ridden the last one, Kingda Ka at Six Flags, NJ. It was awesome!!! Problem is, it doesn't run all the time, if it's too windy, they shut it down.

I have ridden Kingda Ka (last ride) multiple times in the front seat, and ride Top Thrill Dragster (similar ride) regularly in the front seat.

Tonic/clonic (motor) and absence (non-motor) are just sub categories of presentations. Narcoleptic episodes involving sudden loss of consciousness caused by stress fit the category of narcoleptic seizures.

Notice!! the roller coaster at the end is as safe as any roller coaster out there. Its extremely unlikely there is an acident on a roller coaster if the park has a good work team to fix all coaster wich as far i know is required for a park for operating a coaster. Thanks for reading

I used to take a large nut & bolt with me when I went rollercoasting
& just as the ride started I'd drop it to the ground, the reaction was priceless.! (this was years ago when I didn't know any better) & I do think it's shameful now!
