I have been to Gir forest and to the Maldhari village last year. It has been an amazing experience. It's true they live very close to the lions and I was shocked how they coexist with each other.
Several natives from Gujarat had wore warm clothes due to cold. Indeed this clip is filmed during winter. Here native is called as maldhari. I liked very much it.
I visited nass ones and found these people are just awesome, they offer you food, butter milk ,milk without any expectation. I would love to live in that Nass rest of my life. The smell, the silence, and the honesty Love it.
Love how they describe factually that electricity wires will cause ForestFires and hence they shouldnt use it. 🙏 And the bravehearts who return to live there after 'education' in the Cities🙏 (Wish the subtitles were better)
Maldhari are the tribals of Gir jungle. They live on natural resources of the jungle. People should learn from the life style of maldharis, how they live with no electricity and minimum resources of life.
@Rofrest hi thanks a lot for watching the films and appreciating it well i understand ur problem and will try to put some English captions on it or will up load English version of both the parts

India remains indebted to the visionary steps of erstwhile Nawab of Junagarh who , in British times stopped hunting of the majestic Asiatic Lions in the Gir forest ( Gujarat ) . Thanks to Nawab's efforts the lion population in Gir increased from the then about 20 to around 600. The project to relocate some lions to Morena district ( Chambal River Valley ) Madhya Pradesh , should be undertaken without any delay . ---------------------- India is the only country in the world to have both Tigers and Lions ( also Panthers and Snow Leopards )
The CHEETAH was not so lucky. Soon after independence Cheetah became extinct in the land which gave it its name. But all is not lost. Cheetah can be and should in some suitable habitat. We appeal to like minded people to come together and initiate a Project , even as a N.G.O. , to bring back the cheetah in India .
