She was very ill during the filming of this movie and was taking B12 shots and uppers to keep her filming throughout. She had a doctors note to excuse her being ill and unable to show up to the set but still the studio hounded her to get back to work immediately. They were were counting on Marilyn to be the saving grace for the studio because they had gone into bankruptcy due to the enormous amounts of money they had spent on the filming of Cleopatra and the huge payout for their star Dame Elizabeth Taylor. The heavy burden was then put on Marilyn to rescue the studio. This would be considered too much a burden for any star to undertake: Bless her beautiful heart and soul. We miss you Marilyn.💋😘☺️
Can you imagine how she must have really felt? She lost her children and they would have been around the same age as these so they say. Poor Marilyn she just had to go numb inside the way the world used her up

The end product tends to make it so worth it, but during the process you have moments where you’re like, “God, why do I do this to myself?”. In the end, those moments were just too much for Marilyn. ♥️♥️♥️ Thank God we have this now to see how hard she worked even when she was ill.

Hollywood killed this beautiful soul- no rest, stress and exploitation.....possibly the Kenney's too from a video of confession I saw on here....sad really sad...💔
Did anyone notice that towards the end of her life she seemed to have a slightly lazy eye sometimes? For some reason I think that made her look even more stunning than she already was!!
Gregory Garland yes and that eye also showed up on pictures and video as having an overexposure or white. In other words, that eye glowed unnaturally like when people get red glowing eyes in pictures--but that lazy eye glowed white. It's usually a tell tale sign of eye or brain cancer/tumor. Makes me wonder. It has been jumping out at me on dozens of videos of her later in life and now I read your comment.
Yes I've noticed it too. You can especially see it here in this close up but you see it in many of her photos. Many actors have it too. It's a less distracting trait than being somewhat cross eyed but with MM she's so absolutely intoxicating and her eyes are so utterly mesmerizing it really doesn't matter (to me). I have photographed a couple of Marilyn like women and they are something to behold. Photographing MM must have been the highlight of every photographer's career who ever got the chance.

Thank you very much for posting this incredible footage. Love to watch her emote, over and over. Even when she looks up for direction. About 27years ago, I purchased a couple VHS tapes that had so many out takes of Marilyn from this film. I kept on hoping over the years that Fox would clean up and color correct all of her footage here and release a DVD set of her wonderful performance and some in-between footage of her as well. Some laughing with Dean, some talking to Cukor, but mostly her saying, "sorry, sorry, sorry" many times for making a mistake. Please Fox, release a "Something's Gotta Give" complete box set.

Marilyn was perfect she didn't blow one line, take after take. I think this footage was shot right after she returned from Kennedy's birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden. Marilyn got into a gigantic power struggle with the Kennedys. JFK dumped her immediately following the gala. Things were getting too hot. Jackie had put up with Jack's infidelities for years but did not relish being publically humiliated by his entanglement with Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn's frequent calls to the White House and the birthday celebration almost caused a divorce between Jack and Jackie. Joe Kennedy paid Jacqueline one million dollars to remain married to Jack. Marilyn became a pest. RFK was assigned to get Marilyn off Jack's back and he became involved with her. Both JFK and RFK blabbed many top secrets, like little boys, to Marilyn. She knew some dangerous things to know. The Kennedys cut her off completely. Marilyn had a big mouth and was not discrete. She was threatened that if she did not shut up she would be permanently silenced. Marilyn was tricked into going to the Cal-Neva Lodge (Sinatra) on the pretext of meeting Bobby Kennedy. RFK was not there. Sam Giancana of the Chicago mob was. Marilyn was drugged and photographed having sex with Giancana and other men. She was threatened that if she didn't shut up these photos would be made public. She did not care. She became angrier and angrier and threatened to call a press conference and expose them all. She had been offered monetary bribes and had her life threatened but she could not be controlled or reasoned with. All of this was going on when she was filming Somethings Got to Give.
Wow, you ARE so well read about the stifling, insane, destroying Marylin s integrity background, which reminds me of lots of biographies read over 30 years with several theories as to her ultimate week... but we all agree on her horrible childhood and sensitive soûl, the loss of her baby, addiction to a wicked psychiatris. In bad English. Respectfully from France

I was thinking the same she really wanted to be respected & loved but no one really understood her actually 😳
I think this is the saddest few minutes I’ve ever witnessed
0:07 "I feel sick, need some sleep."
No, she says, "Just a second, my leg's asleep."
Solshard "I feel sick and my leg's asleep."
Thought it was 'Just a sec, my leg's asleep.'
She said my necks asleep
"Just a sec oh my leg's asleep".
He talked to those kids like they were out of control dogs!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL PHENOMENAL
Marylin was a real one u can tell she was getting pissed but also staying real sweet at the same time a real role model for the kids💯💯💙💙
Oh, what a hard work, isn't it? This scene really hurts my heart. But Marilyn is so patient.... and beautiful as always.
i hate the director in this one. hes mean!
She is so beautiful
My name is Tim and I just love her saying "Timmy come here ", "I wanna hug you".... She had no clue just how good she was as an actress but I do think she was starting to figure it out, a little anyways, IMO. Maybe it was coming with age.
When she hugged those kids sorry getting emotional I just lost it wept soo😢 long
Marilyn is the sweetest, ever there was
So sweet, kind and gentle.
Her voice is sweet, kind and gentle too.
Anyone would jump out of the window repeating that like a gazillion times. There's no surprise what happened next.
To be an actor is also a hard job..
For tht they get PAID like a king. Ok!
Katharina K. I’m agree but that profession doesn’t look like as we imagined
he just yelled and look at the way she just gives a little reassurance to those kids
no do the right thing and be quiet!
and she looks at the little girl and goes: you will :)
I could watch this on repeat forever shes the love of my life and I’m always thinking of her everyday. Once I move to la I’m gonna visit her for the rest of my life 🤍
Marilyn was phantastic .....isn´t it sad that she didn´t finished this movie ....Cukor dont know what an Icon he had and also couldn´t know that this " fragments " find the way to us . Dear Marilyn
A good person
IN a wrong place
IN a wrong time
Can end up just of a victim End of off reality and the end unfortunately can be horrible..
LOVE FROM A BEAUTIFUL TIMELESS BELLISSIMA LADY FULL OF CLASS AND ELEGANCE ❣️❤️
MANY THANKS ❤️👍❣️👌🏼❤️
I wonder what this looks like on DVD probably different compared to VHS

Fascinating to watch and hard to believe it’s nearly sixty years since she died.
she was 36 when she died
She's totally mesmerising
what does mesmerizing mean
She was going through alot during this time in her life and it showed when she went to work. I mean, you can tell. Shortly before he death, it truly sad to think about all the foul play that went on with her death as well.
my god! what a stunning beauty is this woman. and she knows it, she,s a real eyecatcher.👌👌👍👍
She would made a great mother ❤❤❤
If u slow it down at the very beginning before her lines, she says "I'm sick ,I need some sleep,"
How could we be so lucky to have her on this planet among us and fuck this up is beyond me!
Ashley, I love ❤ this. Marilyn and Norma Jeane Baker
Was so precise and precious 😍 💖 💓 💕 💗.
We all 💘 her. How she looks at those
Adorable children 😍 💙 ❤ 💕. I love her laugh. Her mesmerizing gaze. Like these children
Were hers. How she wanted to love and hold them. Had she'd never had them, the little 👧
Would have been the age if she had
Her own, but, lost
Her, her pregnancy.
I love you friend 💛 ❤ 💓 💗 as the

Geez she’s gorgeous
Fantastic woman.
Nobody as beautiful as when with herwet hair she talks with martin. What a unique, beautiful soul.
I wonder if they would shout at Elizabeth Taylor like this. I’m not blaming Elizabeth but I just doubt it.
Lol. Liz was s beast. Lol...they wouldn't dare. She shouted back. Hahahaha...
And remember Liz was highest paid actor that time. Nobody try to mess her.
Tell them!
I think this was around the time she was really depressed
Just breaks my heart
That director was an evil jerk. How dare he yell at those sweet kids and wonderful Marilyn.
I always thought if Marilyn had kids she would have made an asoome mother 🌟❤️❤️❤️
A tristeza profunda no olhar dela, o cansaço. Deus, a indústria matou essa mulher
Great Marilyn Monroe 💋
The director was so mean! I love that Marilyn was there to help guide the kids through that, she was so loving and nurturing to them.
The 1st take was perfect, dont know why the director wanted take after take , marilyn was a good actress ,
Marilyn was perfect she didn't blow one line, take after take.
