y'all need to play every match from now on like it's your last match together because I don't think this roster deserves the only Filipino franchise spot after already 2+ years of disappointing results.
This current roster is less than a year old... This is a different roster from 2 years ago. New coach (as well as invy and lenne) joined late December lang, and since his arrival maraming changes on how the team plays. New members in the mix (According rin ni jremy in one of his streams, lenne IGLs when he's playing. With addition ni lenne as IGL, nag oopen up yan ng even more new and different possibilities/comps), new coach, new strats, etc... Maraming bago unlike sa OG roster na kasama na sila sa BREN (and therefore may existing strats/synergy/etc sa team na yun) bago binili ng Team Secret yung roster. I think it's best for now to wait and see how the team will improve. The best teams in valorant rn are made up of players who have been playing together for a long time. For example, FNATIC players have been on the team since 2021- early 2022 (with the exception of Chronicle who joined early November). Another example is PRX whose members have been together since 2021, and with the addition of something, whose playstyle meshed well with PRX, they're even stronger now. But could something have played this well if not for the support of the old PRX members who already knew how to work with one another? I doubt that.
@@buhreeriart8620 FNATIC and PRX stuck with the same core cos they have been qualifying in every LAN tournament. TS with their 3 core players couldn't make it to LAN last year. And Jremy is not even a star addition to the team that could carry like Jingg or Chronicle or Leo or Alfajer. Only Invy looks like the bright spot rn and we haven't seen Lenne play.
@@mikedepacina8588 If I had to give an analogy, FNC and PRX are like houses that are being renovated to add a new room. For TS, it's basically changing the house's entire layout. New coach, new members (with one who is apparently good enough to igl according to another member), etc. Let's not forget, Warbirds brought a lot of new things to the table which drastically changed TS play style. And whether or not you think Jremy is a star player, there's no doubt that him and invy brought a lot more firepower to the team. Plus, they're probably the more consistent players in the roster rn. My point here is, we most likely still haven't seen the full extent of how all these changes will affect TS moving forward. While qualifying for a LAN is a good sign that you're better off continuing with that roster, it's definitely not the be-all and end-all of things. eSports orgs take risks like this all the time. It's probably best to wait and see how the team will improve from here on. It's reckless to just drop a whole roster that hasn't even been together for even half a year. I'd say it's best if TS looked for a way to have more firepower. A lot of analysts have said that this is actually what they lack. All the good fundamentals are there, they just need a little more bang. Either they train even more like hell or add a member who can frag like crazy. If that's the way to improve the team, well why not? Last but not the least: TS was actually doing decently on LAN tournaments, like placing second in Daejoon (it's better if you check their record on liquipedia yourself for more details) Maybe it's the fan in me speaking when I say it's best to see first how things will go, but I definitely think the points I raised make sense.
@@mikedepacina8588 I just wanted to add... Speaking of TS core (jessie, borkum, dubstep): I think there's value in keeping them still. Jessie is a good igl and an impactful support for his team especially when he plays sova (see sliggy's analysis on TS games where he often comments on this). Not to mention, it's always risky to drop an igl player who has tons of experience and also capable of holding out on his own. Borkum is a good controller especially on astra where he manages to make good setups for his team. And Dubstep- he might not be able to be on par with the younger duelists, but he does his job as entry well. I still think he does better on a support role than duelist though... One more thing: when I said qualifying for LAN is not the be-all and end-all of things, I meant that even if a roster hasn't, say, placed high in a LAN tournament, it doesn't automatically mean there's no hope for the roster. Sometimes it's better to take a risk and see them improve with time by fixing the issues they had, etc. Of course if a lot of time has already passed and there's no improvement, then definitely TS needs to make even more huge changes to fix the problem, whatever they may be. Edit: It took me a while to realize that when you said LAN, you meant VCT specifically and probably not other offline tournaments. I think my point still stands though.
