tbh, on that team i could even 0cycle MoC 11 on autocombat with manual ulting(Topaz and Aven E0S1, rest E0S0, tho i have a top 50/15k Topaz on Seeleland). when i got sweaty i could 0c MoC 12 and if i play casually i can consistently 1c MoC 12.

I agree with IPC comp beeing extremaly expensive, thats why i think Robin is bait and nice that finally someone points that out. IPC comp is mainly imaginary/fire with some physical and we are getting same elements coverage for fraction of the cost which is firefly/harmony mc comp where 1 char is free, second is a 4 star gallagher and 2 others are limited (ruan mei and firefly). Not to mention there is boothill coming (very cheap comp) and new gamemode.
@@Zergling. Um. You could pick Gallagher from event for free, rumor says its pickable in 2.3, also I wouldnt compare 4 star to limited 5 star (he is already really good at e2). Ruan mei's best lightcone is arguably 3 or 4 star, because dmg boost from her signature gives nothing towards break damage. That leaves You with 2 limited chars, one working with or without lc (firefly) Meanwhile as Smack explained You need some lc's on FuA teams to even guarantee follow up on dr ratio, so its 3 limited char pulls plus preferably at least 2 lightcones, which is literally twice as expensive. Keep in mind also that Ruan mei works in every team aside from Acheron compared to Robin which is more niche.
Robin is amazing. She serves the purpose of being an "almost second" Ruan Mei for the second team. Yes she's best in FUA BUT I've been using her with a Bronya Jingliu/Blade and Huohuo and I've actually been taking a cycle less to clear which is a huge W for me. Some people are just too focused on her Ultimate but Robin with her skill popped gives a free 50% dmg boost and a huge 20% Crit Damage boost which i feel some people have been brushing off. And frankly i haven't been having energy issues with Robin maybe because I've been using her alongside HuoHuo so i am able to get a 2 turn Ult. Hope everyone that did pull for Robin is having fun with her.
Hmmm yeah but for a f2p, Pulling a character just to save 1-2 cycle when you can already get a 7-8 cycle clear is kinda a waste. Since break effect meta is coming next patch better save for boothill/firefly.
@@winningsonn i personally think for an F2P..ruan mei is generally better because robin needs high invested teams...but this all changes when you talk about pure fiction and in general this pure fiction...you normally just do 1 turn and ult with robin and by the time her ult ends because of whimsicality effect she gets her ult immediately again..now although you are right saving 1-2 cycles in MoC for an F2P when they are clearing in 7-8 cycles is not that huge...but this advance forward and saving 1-2 cycles is huge huge for pure fiction..the difference between you getting a 3 star and 2 star in pure fiction might just be that 1-2 cycles saved...thats just my opinion 👍
Exactly this. The Team advancement from Robin can actually come in super clutch be it in MoC or PF. Ruan Mei is so good because she allows dual dps to run in PF. Robin can easily be the Ruan Mei for the second half and sometimes her Action advance can literally be the main factor for a 2* or 3* clear. @@Soham08Sen

Honestly after getting lucky with banners in 2.0 and 2.1 i don't see myself facing any real challenge in the future specially with Acheron. So i can kick back relax and pull for pure design and character. Feels good ngl
@TechyCatz i got e6s1 acheron in 300 pulls. I have most of the 5 stars minus limited sustains (except i got Aventurine), topaz and argenti. I got lc for Black swan and jingliu as well. I get monthly pass occasionally so I'm f2p+. Been playin since launch.

Thanks for the vid smack. From my testing ruan mei is mostly ahead in break teams and heavy sp teams like imbibitor and qq. Every other team robin clears the same as ruan mei or better. Can only speak for my account, but as you stated i guess its for sweats. I will say that she isn't newbie friendly, but that doesn't take away from her power when you know how to play her. Awesome vid in total. Definitely gonna try your xueyi team. Still miss those days of you playing final fantasy. Always good to see a fellow rpg lover.

I've seen a lot of CCs making videos about the Harmony MC and truthfully they aren't doing the MC justice and properly testing them before putting out content, which I feel can be misleading for the larger community. I'm a small content creator doing this for fun but I recently made a video highlighting the Harmony MC, and I have a Showcase of E2S1 Acheron vs E1 Xueyi showing how powerful Harmony MC can be with super break. Robin in my DoT team has been crazy. I managed to get her lightcone as a FTP too. To be able to stack dots, robin ult and stack again, have them blow up twice with Kafka is crazy stuff.
Gigabrain Smack with the Tingyun Robin instant ult with literally any hypercarry. Insane. And it works. Just 1-cycled dino cocolia with Kafka hypercarry.
Saw a lot of people say what you mentioned about her being a side grade to ruan Mei in dot, as someone who didn’t have rm she was a must pull even though I got her in one 10 pull🤣

As my 2nd limited harmony it's nice to have someone who can buff the entire team, instead of only having harmony units that can really only buff one at a time.
started in 1.6, as a low spender, i have the RRAT team (e1 s1 topaz + e1 robin (am trying for her LC)) - got ruan mei + LC when i started then looked through data bank and loved topaz’s design so decided to save for her - saved up since ratio banner, got aven in 4 pulls (at 76 pity) and had 440 pulls to drop on the banner - VERY not f2p friendly, whilst yes ratio was free, you need two of either e1 topaz, s1 topaz or s1 aventurine which for an f2p account is way worse for value compared to just pulling e0 units with said 440 pulls - the team performs ridiculously well against single target, with e1 robin it’s easily the best single target team, you can kill stuff be for it even gets to move - topaz and aven being sp positive makes up for robin generating none and ratio spamming every turn, this will be the best team in the new boss rush sim universe mode - ^ literally every boss in this game is weak to fire or imaginary or both, elation path is quite literally absurd with this team (though high GNG levels i go preservation otherwise i get bodied😭) - outside of fua teams, robins energy cost issues SHINE you basically need to run an e6 tingyun or a team that allows her to skill every turn - i’m by no means a good player or even good at moc (stuck on floor 8 due to second team being so poor in comparison) but this team is so much fun it feels like i’m running march on rememberance the way my team gets like 15 turns before the enemy gets to even move their synergy is actually crazy and robins + avens damage that they provide to this team is like running 4 dps units it’s so much fun
Great video as always! However, there's one thing that I disagree with in the video where Smack said in the IPC team, Dr. R and Topaz need to be above 134 speed with Robin. The theory is complicated so TLDR, if you are not sweaty enough, you can just go 103+ speed for Dr. R and Topaz, run ATK boot instead of Spd boots, it’s not worth running spd boot. For those of you who want to see an explanation, let's continue then. The only scenario in which the good old 134 speed trick is needed is that the extra action would make you able to 0 cycle the first wave. But if you can 0 cycle without the extra action OR you wouldn't be able to 0 cycle the first wave with the extra action anyways, then rocking 134 speed is absolutely meaningless, you may as well just go 103 speed and go full ATK on everything. Here’s why. To make sense of it, we need a couple of facts here: 1. With proper setup, Robin can 2 turn ult. This means after she is done singing, it only takes at most 2 actions to ult again. (For example, song end -> skill -> auto -> ult -> endless loop) 2. While she's singing, her speed is 90, so we have 111.11 action value to attack within her ult buff. After the ult end, she would immediately take 1 action, if her speed is at 120, we have 83.33 action value until her ult is up again. 3. 83.33+111.11 = 194.44 is the action value of Robin’s ult rotation, if her speed is at 120 of course. If shes faster than 120 speed then the value would be smaller. I’m just giving an example here. 4. How much speed does a character need to move 3 times within 194.44 action value (including the immediate action after Robin's ult)? 103 speed. 5. On the other hand, how much speed does a character need to move 4 times? 155 speed. Let’s be honest here ain’t no way Dr. R’s old leg is about to move that fast without any speed amplifier from the other characters ok, so Dr, R and Topaz are more likely to go 3 times 6. Why does this ugly math calculation matter? Because it doesn’t matter how much speed you have, unless it’s not over 155 speed, you can only go 3 times between each Robin ult, then Robin’s ult is going to pull everybody back to the starting point so SPD stat literally makes ZERO DIFFERENCE! If your Robin is faster than 120, say 130, your DPS needs 160 speed to go 4 times... which is even harder. 7. My point here is that many ppl follow the build of their steamer blindly without considering if this is a good build for YOU, not HIM. Going 134 spd without being able to 0 cycle the first wave means you're literally wasting 30 spd for absolutely NO REASON. Don't do this to yourself mkay?
yo the reason why I chose not to pull for her was because I have it hard with speed tuning my other characs just for her. Didn't think of ulting and not hostaging it and having the other characs slower. Another big W take by GachaSmackaroonie, respect yo efforts. Master Guidemaker

I really wish for the people that invested in that IPC comp to not have done it just to make a good team for Ratio because Ratio might get an equally as good comp near in the future in the form of Ratio, Tingyun, Pela, "2.4 character"
That 2.4 unit your mentioning would Replace Pela and you'd put the Sustain or another Harmony in her Place . Cuz you don't need 2 debuffers for Ratio, You Just need 3 debuffs for Guaranteed FUA and that 2.4 Nihility unit most likely has some form of 3 Debuffs so you don't need both Debuffers, + If your looking at E0S0 Topaz vs Pela, Pela is Preferable cuz getting 3 Debuffs with her is Easier then a E0S0 Topaz Team. + I wasn't considering FUA Team cuz I wanted to make Ratio good, I was considering that Team to have a very fun FUA team.
Couldn't agree more with you. I've got the "premium" fua team and it's true, the damage is generally mid unless your relics are good for certain thresholds (eidolons/signature LC ignored). The weakness in that comp is actually dr ratio. Like Smack explained, you need debuffs for ratio to function properly that other fua characters just don't provide baseline. If you really want to play dr ratio, it's much better to not invest in a fua team and instead go hyper carry ratio. Unfortunately Jade isn't the aoe fua attacker I hoped she would be, but I can wait. For me, there needs to be an alternative for ratio that functions out of the box and ideally does some aoe to cover topaz weakness. Herta / Himeko do aoe, but their use is conditionally as well.
@@IdeasAreBulletproof Why would you not want two debuffers for Ratio ? He has a trace that makes him benefit from up to 5 debuffs on the enemy, also, when it comes to def shred, you benefit from stacking it and trying to get as close to 100% def shred as possible (pela + pearls of sweat gives 58% def shred and with the new character you'll reach 100%). Also, no need for sustain, the 2.4 character gives a bit of healing so with some planning you can run him as the sustain.

Since you mentioned how you dont like to explain the unintuitive interactions between turns, av, and frame 1 ulting, I was curious if you actually like theese obscure strategies or if you think it would be better to use "total av used" as a measure of clear speed (for 3* etc) instead of turns.
I pulled her for DoT and dual DPS situations because I don't have Ruan Mei (I did get her E1 so she has that res pen on her ult like RM). I don't have Topaz, but using her with Himeko and Herta in pure fiction was just hilarious with the buff that gives energy. Her phys dmg only procs on one hit per AoE, but it doesn't matter. I ran DDD Asta and basically never got hit (not sure the speed even mattered, so many follow ups and free energy procs it was mostly just back to back ultimates 😂). I will say she performs way better with E2 Acheron hypercarry than expected. 1.2m damage ult on side 2 wave 1 of MoC and 700k single target against Aventurine (with MoC debuff ofc). Knocked no less than 4 cycles off my clear time. She's a lot more versatile than I expected and a truly excellent support.
lmaooo the Blade team comp is the exact ones I run to deal with that floor, at first I would never thought that Sparkle can bring Blade right above Bronya but it works, gotta say this is one of my favorite comp so far
I wish I saw this before pulling Robin. I don't have Luocha or Scooby Doo so my team comps are quite limited having no decent sustain/healer. As an older gamer a lot of what you say goes over my head but I love your videos.
You picked both a fun game and a pretty down to earth youtuber who keeps things honest. Robin is still really good, so she'll help your teams all the same.
About Welt we all know about the Ruan Mei combo but now that we have Robin who's ult has priority, you could perma lock with Welt, Ruan Mei and Robin. The order should be Trap with Welt's technique then break enemy shields with Ruan's extra break and when enemies recover from break then you Robin ult and then rinse and repeat. So the last slot would be pretty flexible such as Huo Huo for more energy and more consistency or either use to include a dedicated break unit such as gallagher or another character with the proper element or with follow up. Another idea I have now that break will be meta is Break Luocha, the real value of Luocha lies in him breaking the enemy shields and since he is imaginary would trap enemies automarically and thus increasing even further his team utility the new gallagher light cone its perfect for this at higher refinements and even adds further to his own survivavility. Id love to see you turn these two ideas into videos if its possible for you.
Good thing I got her in 20 pull's, because I don't have many follow up attack unit's, but planning to get Jade, so maybe Robin gonna be useful in future.
Perhaps she just needs to age a lil bit to find herself being more universal. With future relics and characters hopefully she can shine even more! Just like how ruan mei will start to shine even more with more break effect characters.

I'd say she's already better bu it's not enough to justify people feeling it necessarily or feeling she's tha necessary mixed wi her being less comfy if you wanna turn your brain off an the fact people already hab 3 5 star supports definitely contributes Largely to the community consensus, it's wrong bu hey hopefully she will get a buff directly or indirectly tha makes it more obvious tha she's better maybe eben 1 soon to make it obvious she's a great universal support an maybe 1 to make her fua team synergy powerful enough to cement her place there in the more distant future or something tha cements her role as a universal support
I've known since early leaks of eidolon and LCs that the FUA comp was an expensive one. I planned for it with OT at work to compensate. E4S1 Ratio, E6S5 Topaz, E4S1 Aventurine, and Robin(Haven't decided how much to invest here)... I can say its the most fun comp in the game. Everything is so smooth, ST be damned. You speak the truth, love the content man. Im just trying to have fun. Doesnt even bulldoze content fully since i didn't go for e6 ratio and aventurine which are the two biggest damage increases for the team. Just smoother rotations and ults.
Finally, somebody point out How P2W those FUA comps. It's strong But man that thing is really expensive to really perform (not rng,etc). You better just grab E2 Acheron with that type of investment
We do not need that comp or those Es and Ss tbf. Optimal and best possible, yes; but not required for any current endgame. I have the Top-Rat-Urine comp with Ruan Mei (all E0 S0) and it still kicks ass in MoC (provided weaknesses match). There are enough debuffs going on with Ratio Tech, Topaz's mark, Aven Ult and Ruan's Ult blossoms. You might have to do the Topaz skill once in a wave for Numby to target the correct enemy.

You put up the same investment on Dr Ratio hypercarry, it will perform equal if not better with way less investment because you don't need to pull Topaz. And i don't know if i can really explained it good enough, But those teams you mentioned do have a lot of Debuff. The problem is on Consistency, there will be a times when Enemy die to fast Because Both Topaz and Ratio mechanics and you just apply aven debuff on him not because they on low health but because Both topaz and Ratio kill really Fast (hunt mechanics focus on one target). Now when you switch, Aven Energy still 50% and those Thing could make Ratio not hit his FUA. Ruan mei could indeed Help But Robin make this Way Worse. Basically my point is, this comp is Overrated for F2P or light-spender to perform at Pretty High Level. Those CC really Hyping it up that it's good, When they have Sig Lc left and Right. You put same investment on Dhil,JL,Acheron,Dot they will perform better. But play it if you like it

For this current cycle of MoC I ran Dr Ratio hyper carry with Ho-oh, SW, and Sparkle, and then other side Robin, Clara, Topaz, and Aventurine, Only Sig LC in this comp was Topaz and Robin had Bronyas but I was still able to full clear in 8 cycles, if you dont want to use Ratio in the comp you can replace Clara and she takes care of the single target issues that the comp has.
I really like Robin with Tingyun, where I enable 4 turns with Tingyun per wave in a 0 cycle context. Huohuo also is really handy actually for enabling the second ult if you want to run a sustain outside of FuA. I did a really cool 0 cycle with Critka, Robin, Ruan Mei, Tingyun, in which I made a 113 base speed Kafka go 4 times in Wave 2 against MoC 12 Node A. This freed up my Black Swan in place of Pela for my Acheron team which made it far easier getting a double 0 cycle. So, I'd say she's really good with energy manipulators in addition to follow up teams. I think 4 turn Tingyun + Robin + Jingliu + filler would make for a very potent team. I'd consider running Jingliu with ERR rope and the last spot being either Huohuo with S5 QPQ or another Harmony with S5 Carve the moon, and attempting a full ult uptime comp with Jingliu. Maybe trying to get 3 ults with her in 1 wave could be pretty cool.
This is the first time of heard of someone having Topaz and Ratio attack different targets. I always have them attack the same one because if I didn't there's no reason to run Topaz.
Though I disagree about her needing E2 in the FuA team, I absolutely agree that the team is mid if you arent doing some minor whaling. Robin has some major anti synergy with Ratio, no debuffs for him(unlike RM), no consistent SP generation, and if you try to use his technique to squeeze in an extra debuff that will mean you cant use Robin's technique that gives her extra 5 energy, since they cancel each other. She's a skip for me, the only unit that I can see taking over Ruan Mei's place in that team as a F2P player is a powerful AoE debuffer, so I'll wait for that instead
Robin is the first banner I pulled on for pure Waifu reasons. She does jack all in my current teams, except to change the BGM. Still no regrets though, because I really like her character archetype.
She's stronger bu fair enough ruan Mei is definitely comfier, bu if you don hab either you should really consider getting both, obvi if you don like her then you don like her bu still she is really strong

Robin has been very underwhelming for me, but I don't use fua comps except in pure fiction. In any other comp Robin feels harder to use effectively than existing options. I also had the impression that Robin's additional hit would apply to all enemies hit, but that is not the case either. Ruan mei is just way easier to play and feels almost the same in pure fiction for me (sometimes just better). Hanabi also feels better when you want to hyper carry.
Got both Robin and Ruan Mei E2. Ruan Mei got that utility that you can't just look over tbh. Weakness break efficiency with Weakness break damage and delay. Since Weakness break effect is quickly becoming the new meta. She's goated.
I picked up Aventurine, Jingliu and now Robin. Probably gonna play Ratio, Aventurine, Robin and Tingyun for my follow up team. I also have an E2S1 Bronya for my Jingliu team because I am historically unlucky with 50/50s (I got like three 5stars under 40 pity each as a compensation so I'm not complaining). I'd kinda like to go for a double destruction comp with Jingliu in the future but I'm not sure what other characters to put in. I don't think Firefly is gonna work sadly.
just full star cleared current ffs MoC 12 with premium FuA comps the funny thing is my team is mostly underleveled, n also the head n hands slot of relic is many only at lvl 6-9 Side 1 - Cocolia (lv char, lv LC, trace lv basic/skill/ult/talent) 80 BS E0S1 80, 4/7/7/9 80 Raiden E0S1 80, 2/8/10/8 70 Gallagher E3 Post-opS5 70, 5/6/3/9 60 Welt E0 ResolutionS5 80, 1/2/2/2 Side2 - Aventurine boss 80 Robin E0S1 80, 1/8/8/8 80 Aven E0 TrendS1 80, 2/9/3/8 70 Topaz E0 SwordplayS4 70, 2/7/3/5 70 Ratio E0 OnlysilenceS2 70, 1/5/5/8 i even put Ratio against aven boss with high Imaginary resistant, and this whole team cannot even weakness break him First i thought i may only do this kind of build principle on Genshin, never ever expected to accomplish the same in HsR ngl. It is not a 0cycle but in the end a full star is 36 star and the reward are the same
THANK YOU, MR SMACK! Someone had to point it out. The IPC Rat FuA comp is not F2P friendly and requires E1s and lightcones from all four characters to perform at the top tier level. It is so flawed for the mintpickers. I already spent too much to get E2S1 Acheron and my account is chilling for life to brute force all content. I am not whaling on all four different characters for a different playstyle.
Robin is super helpful against turn slow mechanics as well. Makes the current 12 top side slows way less annoying. I am really happy with Bronya, Robin and Acheron e2… just need a nihility. It’s dope without a sustain but would be perfect if that nihility healed even just a little ;);)
I’ve noticed whenever HoYo brings out a new powerful dps character, like Acheron, they bring out an enemy that hard counters the recently released character, like that cringe ahh Dino
I haven't seen anyone go over how she inflates Seele's power. I've been running Fu Xuan/Sparkle/Robin/Seele, with Robin's backup damage with Seele it increases her chance of one shotting and then activating resurgence...then she can go again like a FuA.
I think it is all about opportunity cost and yes robin can steal the kills. what if the pulls needed to get robin with her lightcone was used to get E2 sparkle instead and now you can use a DDD tingyun with an E2 sparkle alongside Seele. This is probably her bis team for 0 cycling with the same investments (pulls)

Im a follow up acc but being sincere I tried some Robins out there and with Ratio & Topaz, and yea you told all the problem. This comp is kinda mid and with Sparkle I felt it was a bit better though, even Robin being mostly made to FuA comps. Im at 60 pity guaranteed... Starting to think I better skip despite my Nuclear Clara is the one that seems busted with her... Great Vid.

I think all content creators always need to put a disclaimer for gacha games that says "For heavy spenders only" for some builds or something like that. Everyone hyping ALL characters when there is limited money should not be the standard.

And nobody was talking about that they were all (by all I mean all the guides I've watched) talking about how game changing she is but they never talk about the flip side of things this is why I like watching smack's guides.
@@MaineOneV1 On DoT teams specially yes you do run into SP problems because it's a skill point heavy team. You can say that you can just basic atk sometimes but it really affects the dmg you deal

having a RuanMei, Sparkle and Bronja i just cant bring myself to get Robin, she would be such a small upgrade even for my Dr. Numby team that its not worth it. Im honestly now more hyped what they will do with the super break and while im sure our TB will be overshadowed by future Super Break Harmony units, so far its super fun to play if u have worked on some break chars. Mb im also a bit too spoiled now after Black Swan, Acheron and Aventurine which where all a huge upgrade for their teams. Also if im wrong wih my guts feeling and she will become a big puzzle piece needed for FuA comps there will be a rerun anyway.
Even though I don't have aventurine or topaz I still feel like robin was a good pick up. My problem in MOC and Pure fiction has been my second team doing no damage when compared to my stacked Acheron team that has Ruan Mei and now having robin on that second team I've been able to comfortably beat content.
For the FUA team it's not as expensive as you make it sound to be (even though it's still above average cost compared to other comps). The biggest factor is indeed E1 Topaz with sig LC to comfortably 0 cycle MoC 12/play optimally, but if you're not a tryhard, it's still an extremely powerful auto comp. You don't need Ratio, Robin or Aven sig/eidolons
All the issues with the IPC comp are Ratios issues needing debuffs, when a better followup main dps comes out he'll be replaced easily, or at least be a more consistent option for people without lcs/e1s
From what i heard from other player who has whaled acheron, robin becomes valuable if acheron is e2s1, so she can spam ult more often cos of that turn manipulation, that is what they said
The only reason I pulled for Robin is because I want to move Ruan Mei to Firefly's team so I needed a good support for my DoT team! And tbh, Kafka/Black Swan with a 4k attack Robin and a 3k attack Tingyun managed to get me my first 0 cycle! It was amazing!
thanks for pointing out the problem with the premium FUA team, though i feel that it's a problem of that archetype in general. each FUA unit has a specific use case where they shine while being lackluster in other scenarios. for example, ratio and topaz are good in single target scenarios, but far from ideal in PF type content. the opposite is true for herta and himeko. this doesn't even account for their elemental typing. in the end, you'll be picking up a different FUA unit or set of units for every type of content and elemental matchup if you want an optimal or functional FUA team. it can become really expensive, really fast. i like the gameplay, but i'm not a fan of where that road is headed towards.

I picked her up as I don't have Ruan Mei and I needed a second high end support to run through high end MoC. Sparkle has helped me out a lot but I don't have Tingyun quite ready. I do have Blade pretty much locked in and I think Robin will work great with him but I have to see how to make it work.
He's kinda bad paired with Robin since robin has an atk buff which blade doesn't scale really that great from it. Though he enjoys the dmg% bonus and that advance forward i guess..
The IPC team is expensive as fuck right now but if they release a follow up dps (maybe blast damage) that doesn’t rely on a ton of debuffs then ratio can be replaced and the whole team becomes less expensive.
I agree, and this is very stupid. I NEVER go for anything other then E0, yet I spend and have almost every chr + their sign LC. But getting more dupes of a chr for them to REALLY shine is beyond dumb. I feel like they all work and still perform, you dont "need" it.. but damn does it feel bad on some chr's to NOT have acces to their eidolons.
Thats makes a lot of characters skippable at least but at least Acheron was overwhelmingly powerful at E0S0. Robin E0S0 just seems like a lot of trouble for not much reward over other supports.
Damn, I wonder what would happen if GS was here for E7 cause that game is ultra sweaty in PvP and the PvE end game content is no joke. Maybe he’ll play the new SG game. I’m banking on it having some PvP akin Summoners War and E7. That would be sick.
Just for me personally, I would prioritize 5-star sustainers, then DPS, then buffers. Robin is great, but she is for those who sweat and for those who have no buffers yet.

I think a DMG% orb might be competetive with an ATK% orb, since you can't get DMG% on an ATK% orb, but you can get ATK% on a DMG% orb, since she only needs ATK (and some speed for maybe 120 speed req).

tbh, on that team i could even 0cycle MoC 11 on autocombat with manual ulting(Topaz and Aven E0S1, rest E0S0, tho i have a top 50/15k Topaz on Seeleland).

I agree with IPC comp beeing extremaly expensive, thats why i think Robin is bait and nice that finally someone points that out. IPC comp is mainly imaginary/fire with some physical and we are getting same elements coverage for fraction of the cost which is firefly/harmony mc comp where 1 char is free, second is a 4 star gallagher and 2 others are limited (ruan mei and firefly). Not to mention there is boothill coming (very cheap comp) and new gamemode.
@@Zergling. Um. You could pick Gallagher from event for free, rumor says its pickable in 2.3, also I wouldnt compare 4 star to limited 5 star (he is already really good at e2). Ruan mei's best lightcone is arguably 3 or 4 star, because dmg boost from her signature gives nothing towards break damage. That leaves You with 2 limited chars, one working with or without lc (firefly) Meanwhile as Smack explained You need some lc's on FuA teams to even guarantee follow up on dr ratio, so its 3 limited char pulls plus preferably at least 2 lightcones, which is literally twice as expensive. Keep in mind also that Ruan mei works in every team aside from Acheron compared to Robin which is more niche.

Robin is amazing. She serves the purpose of being an "almost second" Ruan Mei for the second team. Yes she's best in FUA BUT I've been using her with a Bronya Jingliu/Blade and Huohuo and I've actually been taking a cycle less to clear which is a huge W for me. Some people are just too focused on her Ultimate but Robin with her skill popped gives a free 50% dmg boost and a huge 20% Crit Damage boost which i feel some people have been brushing off. And frankly i haven't been having energy issues with Robin maybe because I've been using her alongside HuoHuo so i am able to get a 2 turn Ult. Hope everyone that did pull for Robin is having fun with her.

@@winningsonn i personally think for an F2P..ruan mei is generally better because robin needs high invested teams...but this all changes when you talk about pure fiction and in general this pure fiction...you normally just do 1 turn and ult with robin and by the time her ult ends because of whimsicality effect she gets her ult immediately again..now although you are right saving 1-2 cycles in MoC for an F2P when they are clearing in 7-8 cycles is not that huge...but this advance forward and saving 1-2 cycles is huge huge for pure fiction..the difference between you getting a 3 star and 2 star in pure fiction might just be that 1-2 cycles saved...thats just my opinion 👍
Exactly this. The Team advancement from Robin can actually come in super clutch be it in MoC or PF. Ruan Mei is so good because she allows dual dps to run in PF. Robin can easily be the Ruan Mei for the second half and sometimes her Action advance can literally be the main factor for a 2* or 3* clear. @@Soham08Sen

@TechyCatz i got e6s1 acheron in 300 pulls. I have most of the 5 stars minus limited sustains (except i got Aventurine), topaz and argenti. I got lc for Black swan and jingliu as well. I get monthly pass occasionally so I'm f2p+. Been playin since launch.

With JY i started to deal 3 harmony tier dmg with her Ty and HuoHuo.I wasnt expecting deal 650 k LL against that dino AT ALL.Her Buffs are massive.

Thanks for the vid smack. From my testing ruan mei is mostly ahead in break teams and heavy sp teams like imbibitor and qq. Every other team robin clears the same as ruan mei or better. Can only speak for my account, but as you stated i guess its for sweats. I will say that she isn't newbie friendly, but that doesn't take away from her power when you know how to play her. Awesome vid in total. Definitely gonna try your xueyi team. Still miss those days of you playing final fantasy. Always good to see a fellow rpg lover.

I've seen a lot of CCs making videos about the Harmony MC and truthfully they aren't doing the MC justice and properly testing them before putting out content, which I feel can be misleading for the larger community. I'm a small content creator doing this for fun but I recently made a video highlighting the Harmony MC, and I have a Showcase of E2S1 Acheron vs E1 Xueyi showing how powerful Harmony MC can be with super break. Robin in my DoT team has been crazy. I managed to get her lightcone as a FTP too.
To be able to stack dots, robin ult and stack again, have them blow up twice with Kafka is crazy stuff.
Gigabrain Smack with the Tingyun Robin instant ult with literally any hypercarry. Insane.
And it works. Just 1-cycled dino cocolia with Kafka hypercarry.
Saw a lot of people say what you mentioned about her being a side grade to ruan Mei in dot, as someone who didn’t have rm she was a must pull even though I got her in one 10 pull🤣
Well yeah a side grade is something that is just as good in a different way so ofcourse she would feel incredible if you don't have Ruan mei.

As my 2nd limited harmony it's nice to have someone who can buff the entire team, instead of only having harmony units that can really only buff one at a time.
started in 1.6, as a low spender, i have the RRAT team (e1 s1 topaz + e1 robin (am trying for her LC))
- got ruan mei + LC when i started then looked through data bank and loved topaz’s design so decided to save for her
- saved up since ratio banner, got aven in 4 pulls (at 76 pity) and had 440 pulls to drop on the banner
- VERY not f2p friendly, whilst yes ratio was free, you need two of either e1 topaz, s1 topaz or s1 aventurine which for an f2p account is way worse for value compared to just pulling e0 units with said 440 pulls
- the team performs ridiculously well against single target, with e1 robin it’s easily the best single target team, you can kill stuff be for it even gets to move
- topaz and aven being sp positive makes up for robin generating none and ratio spamming every turn, this will be the best team in the new boss rush sim universe mode
- ^ literally every boss in this game is weak to fire or imaginary or both, elation path is quite literally absurd with this team (though high GNG levels i go preservation otherwise i get bodied😭)
- outside of fua teams, robins energy cost issues SHINE you basically need to run an e6 tingyun or a team that allows her to skill every turn
- i’m by no means a good player or even good at moc (stuck on floor 8 due to second team being so poor in comparison) but this team is so much fun it feels like i’m running march on rememberance the way my team gets like 15 turns before the enemy gets to even move their synergy is actually crazy and robins + avens damage that they provide to this team is like running 4 dps units it’s so much fun

Great video as always! However, there's one thing that I disagree with in the video where Smack said in the IPC team, Dr. R and Topaz need to be above 134 speed with Robin.
The theory is complicated so TLDR, if you are not sweaty enough, you can just go 103+ speed for Dr. R and Topaz, run ATK boot instead of Spd boots, it’s not worth running spd boot.
For those of you who want to see an explanation, let's continue then. The only scenario in which the good old 134 speed trick is needed is that the extra action would make you able to 0 cycle the first wave. But if you can 0 cycle without the extra action OR you wouldn't be able to 0 cycle the first wave with the extra action anyways, then rocking 134 speed is absolutely meaningless, you may as well just go 103 speed and go full ATK on everything. Here’s why.
To make sense of it, we need a couple of facts here:
1. With proper setup, Robin can 2 turn ult. This means after she is done singing, it only takes at most 2 actions to ult again. (For example, song end -> skill -> auto -> ult -> endless loop)
2. While she's singing, her speed is 90, so we have 111.11 action value to attack within her ult buff. After the ult end, she would immediately take 1 action, if her speed is at 120, we have 83.33 action value until her ult is up again.
3. 83.33+111.11 = 194.44 is the action value of Robin’s ult rotation, if her speed is at 120 of course. If shes faster than 120 speed then the value would be smaller. I’m just giving an example here.
4. How much speed does a character need to move 3 times within 194.44 action value (including the immediate action after Robin's ult)? 103 speed.
5. On the other hand, how much speed does a character need to move 4 times? 155 speed.
Let’s be honest here ain’t no way Dr. R’s old leg is about to move that fast without any speed amplifier from the other characters ok, so Dr, R and Topaz are more likely to go 3 times
6. Why does this ugly math calculation matter? Because it doesn’t matter how much speed you have, unless it’s not over 155 speed, you can only go 3 times between each Robin ult, then Robin’s ult is going to pull everybody back to the starting point so SPD stat literally makes ZERO DIFFERENCE! If your Robin is faster than 120, say 130, your DPS needs 160 speed to go 4 times... which is even harder.
7. My point here is that many ppl follow the build of their steamer blindly without considering if this is a good build for YOU, not HIM. Going 134 spd without being able to 0 cycle the first wave means you're literally wasting 30 spd for absolutely NO REASON. Don't do this to yourself mkay?
yo the reason why I chose not to pull for her was because I have it hard with speed tuning my other characs just for her. Didn't think of ulting and not hostaging it and having the other characs slower. Another big W take by GachaSmackaroonie, respect yo efforts. Master Guidemaker

I really wish for the people that invested in that IPC comp to not have done it just to make a good team for Ratio because Ratio might get an equally as good comp near in the future in the form of Ratio, Tingyun, Pela, "2.4 character"
That 2.4 unit your mentioning would Replace Pela and you'd put the Sustain or another Harmony in her Place . Cuz you don't need 2 debuffers for Ratio, You Just need 3 debuffs for Guaranteed FUA and that 2.4 Nihility unit most likely has some form of 3 Debuffs so you don't need both Debuffers, + If your looking at E0S0 Topaz vs Pela, Pela is Preferable cuz getting 3 Debuffs with her is Easier then a E0S0 Topaz Team. + I wasn't considering FUA Team cuz I wanted to make Ratio good, I was considering that Team to have a very fun FUA team.

I've got the "premium" fua team and it's true, the damage is generally mid unless your relics are good for certain thresholds (eidolons/signature LC ignored).
The weakness in that comp is actually dr ratio. Like Smack explained, you need debuffs for ratio to function properly that other fua characters just don't provide baseline. If you really want to play dr ratio, it's much better to not invest in a fua team and instead go hyper carry ratio.
Unfortunately Jade isn't the aoe fua attacker I hoped she would be, but I can wait. For me, there needs to be an alternative for ratio that functions out of the box and ideally does some aoe to cover topaz weakness.
Herta / Himeko do aoe, but their use is conditionally as well.
@@IdeasAreBulletproof Why would you not want two debuffers for Ratio ? He has a trace that makes him benefit from up to 5 debuffs on the enemy, also, when it comes to def shred, you benefit from stacking it and trying to get as close to 100% def shred as possible (pela + pearls of sweat gives 58% def shred and with the new character you'll reach 100%). Also, no need for sustain, the 2.4 character gives a bit of healing so with some planning you can run him as the sustain.
Great video. Since you mentioned how you dont like to explain the unintuitive interactions between turns, av, and frame 1 ulting, I was curious if you actually like theese obscure strategies or if you think it would be better to use "total av used" as a measure of clear speed (for 3* etc) instead of turns.
I pulled her for DoT and dual DPS situations because I don't have Ruan Mei (I did get her E1 so she has that res pen on her ult like RM). I don't have Topaz, but using her with Himeko and Herta in pure fiction was just hilarious with the buff that gives energy. Her phys dmg only procs on one hit per AoE, but it doesn't matter. I ran DDD Asta and basically never got hit (not sure the speed even mattered, so many follow ups and free energy procs it was mostly just back to back ultimates 😂).
I will say she performs way better with E2 Acheron hypercarry than expected. 1.2m damage ult on side 2 wave 1 of MoC and 700k single target against Aventurine (with MoC debuff ofc). Knocked no less than 4 cycles off my clear time. She's a lot more versatile than I expected and a truly excellent support.
I don't have jack shit for follow up characters. Still grabbed Robin because that final boss was hype as hell thanks to her

I wish I saw this before pulling Robin. I don't have Luocha or Scooby Doo so my team comps are quite limited having no decent sustain/healer. As an older gamer a lot of what you say goes over my head but I love your videos.

About Welt we all know about the Ruan Mei combo but now that we have Robin who's ult has priority, you could perma lock with Welt, Ruan Mei and Robin.
The order should be Trap with Welt's technique then break enemy shields with Ruan's extra break and when enemies recover from break then you Robin ult and then rinse and repeat.
So the last slot would be pretty flexible such as Huo Huo for more energy and more consistency or either use to include a dedicated break unit such as gallagher or another character with the proper element or with follow up.
Another idea I have now that break will be meta is Break Luocha, the real value of Luocha lies in him breaking the enemy shields and since he is imaginary would trap enemies automarically and thus increasing even further his team utility the new gallagher light cone its perfect for this at higher refinements and even adds further to his own survivavility.
Id love to see you turn these two ideas into videos if its possible for you.

Perhaps she just needs to age a lil bit to find herself being more universal. With future relics and characters hopefully she can shine even more! Just like how ruan mei will start to shine even more with more break effect characters.

I've known since early leaks of eidolon and LCs that the FUA comp was an expensive one. I planned for it with OT at work to compensate.
E4S1 Ratio, E6S5 Topaz, E4S1 Aventurine, and Robin(Haven't decided how much to invest here)... I can say its the most fun comp in the game. Everything is so smooth, ST be damned.
You speak the truth, love the content man. Im just trying to have fun. Doesnt even bulldoze content fully since i didn't go for e6 ratio and aventurine which are the two biggest damage increases for the team. Just smoother rotations and ults.
Finally, somebody point out How P2W those FUA comps. It's strong But man that thing is really expensive to really perform (not rng,etc). You better just grab E2 Acheron with that type of investment
We do not need that comp or those Es and Ss tbf. Optimal and best possible, yes; but not required for any current endgame.
I have the Top-Rat-Urine comp with Ruan Mei (all E0 S0) and it still kicks ass in MoC (provided weaknesses match).
There are enough debuffs going on with Ratio Tech, Topaz's mark, Aven Ult and Ruan's Ult blossoms. You might have to do the Topaz skill once in a wave for Numby to target the correct enemy.

Im just say It is not as strong as People hyping it up to be. You put up the same investment on Dr Ratio hypercarry, it will perform equal if not better with way less investment because you don't need to pull Topaz.
And i don't know if i can really explained it good enough, But those teams you mentioned do have a lot of Debuff. The problem is on Consistency, there will be a times when Enemy die to fast Because Both Topaz and Ratio mechanics and you just apply aven debuff on him not because they on low health but because Both topaz and Ratio kill really Fast (hunt mechanics focus on one target). Now when you switch, Aven Energy still 50% and those Thing could make Ratio not hit his FUA. Ruan mei could indeed Help But Robin make this Way Worse.
Basically my point is, this comp is Overrated for F2P or light-spender to perform at Pretty High Level. Those CC really Hyping it up that it's good, When they have Sig Lc left and Right.
You put same investment on Dhil,JL,Acheron,Dot they will perform better. But play it if you like it

those comps do have a lot of Debuff. The problem is on Consistency. There is a time on battle (from my experience) that you kil Enemy so Fast because on how Both ratio and Topaz work (focus on one target) and you just apply Aven debuff Ult, It's not because the enemy have low health but because it's just how those two work. For this current cycle of MoC I ran Dr Ratio hyper carry with Ho-oh, SW, and Sparkle, and then other side Robin, Clara, Topaz, and Aventurine, Only Sig LC in this comp was Topaz and Robin had Bronyas but I was still able to full clear in 8 cycles, if you dont want to use Ratio in the comp you can replace Clara and she takes care of the single target issues that the comp has.
I really like Robin with Tingyun, where I enable 4 turns with Tingyun per wave in a 0 cycle context. Huohuo also is really handy actually for enabling the second ult if you want to run a sustain outside of FuA. I did a really cool 0 cycle with Critka, Robin, Ruan Mei, Tingyun, in which I made a 113 base speed Kafka go 4 times in Wave 2 against MoC 12 Node A. This freed up my Black Swan in place of Pela for my Acheron team which made it far easier getting a double 0 cycle.
So, I'd say she's really good with energy manipulators in addition to follow up teams. I think 4 turn Tingyun + Robin + Jingliu + filler would make for a very potent team. I'd consider running Jingliu with ERR rope and the last spot being either Huohuo with S5 QPQ or another Harmony with S5 Carve the moon, and attempting a full ult uptime comp with Jingliu. Maybe trying to get 3 ults with her in 1 wave could be pretty cool.
This is the first time of heard of someone having Topaz and Ratio attack different targets. I always have them attack the same one because if I didn't there's no reason to run Topaz.

Though I disagree about her needing E2 in the FuA team, I absolutely agree that the team is mid if you arent doing some minor whaling. Robin has some major anti synergy with Ratio, no debuffs for him(unlike RM), no consistent SP generation, and if you try to use his technique to squeeze in an extra debuff that will mean you cant use Robin's technique that gives her extra 5 energy, since they cancel each other. She's a skip for me, the only unit that I can see taking over Ruan Mei's place in that team as a F2P player is a powerful AoE debuffer, so I'll wait for that instead
Robin is the first banner I pulled on for pure Waifu reasons. She does jack all in my current teams, except to change the BGM. Still no regrets though, because I really like her character archetype.

Robin has been very underwhelming for me, but I don't use fua comps except in pure fiction. In any other comp Robin feels harder to use effectively than existing options. I also had the impression that Robin's additional hit would apply to all enemies hit, but that is not the case either. Ruan mei is just way easier to play and feels almost the same in pure fiction for me (sometimes just better). Hanabi also feels better when you want to hyper carry.
Got both Robin and Ruan Mei E2. Ruan Mei got that utility that you can't just look over tbh. Weakness break efficiency with Weakness break damage and delay. Since Weakness break effect is quickly becoming the new meta. She's goated.
I picked up Aventurine, Jingliu and now Robin. Probably gonna play Ratio, Aventurine, Robin and Tingyun for my follow up team. I also have an E2S1 Bronya for my Jingliu team because I am historically unlucky with 50/50s (I got like three 5stars under 40 pity each as a compensation so I'm not complaining).
I'd kinda like to go for a double destruction comp with Jingliu in the future but I'm not sure what other characters to put in. I don't think Firefly is gonna work sadly.
yeah firefly is locked w/ rm, harmony tb, & gallagher. jingliu synergizes well w/ blade but idk if u like him + jingliy hypercarry is better

THANK YOU, MR SMACK! Someone had to point it out. The IPC Rat FuA comp is not F2P friendly and requires E1s and lightcones from all four characters to perform at the top tier level. It is so flawed for the mintpickers.
I already spent too much to get E2S1 Acheron and my account is chilling for life to brute force all content. I am not whaling on all four different characters for a different playstyle.

I haven't seen anyone go over how she inflates Seele's power. I've been running Fu Xuan/Sparkle/Robin/Seele, with Robin's backup damage with Seele it increases her chance of one shotting and then activating resurgence...then she can go again like a FuA.
Its a double edged sword since it can also not make Seele activate resurgence because Robin can steal the kill
I mean even if backup damage doesnt get her kill that flat 1500 attk buff to seele does wonders
I think it is all about opportunity cost and yes robin can steal the kills. what if the pulls needed to get robin with her lightcone was used to get E2 sparkle instead and now you can use a DDD tingyun with an E2 sparkle alongside Seele. This is probably her bis team for 0 cycling with the same investments (pulls)

Im a follow up acc but being sincere I tried some Robins out there and with Ratio & Topaz, and yea you told all the problem. This comp is kinda mid and with Sparkle I felt it was a bit better though, even Robin being mostly made to FuA comps. Im at 60 pity guaranteed... Starting to think I better skip despite my Nuclear Clara is the one that seems busted with her... Great Vid.

And nobody was talking about that they were all (by all I mean all the guides I've watched) talking about how game changing she is but they never talk about the flip side of things this is why I like watching smack's guides.
i don't run into when into a sp problem when using her. It depends on your team comp tbh. I always use her with aventurine so that's probably why.
@@MaineOneV1 On DoT teams specially yes you do run into SP problems because it's a skill point heavy team. You can say that you can just basic atk sometimes but it really affects the dmg you deal

I used her as hyper carry with all supports for fun. Robin, Tingyun, Ruan Mei, and Aventurine/HuoHuo cleared Moc12 in 3 to 4 cycles.

IPC emergency does have a debuffer. It's called E2 Aventurine. So yeah, it is an expensive ahh team.

having a RuanMei, Sparkle and Bronja i just cant bring myself to get Robin, she would be such a small upgrade even for my Dr. Numby team that its not worth it. Im honestly now more hyped what they will do with the super break and while im sure our TB will be overshadowed by future Super Break Harmony units, so far its super fun to play if u have worked on some break chars. Mb im also a bit too spoiled now after Black Swan, Acheron and Aventurine which where all a huge upgrade for their teams. Also if im wrong wih my guts feeling and she will become a big puzzle piece needed for FuA comps there will be a rerun anyway.
I thought I was gonna regret pulling for robin because I already have RM. But turns out she enabled me to clear moc 12 on autoplay.
Even though I don't have aventurine or topaz I still feel like robin was a good pick up. My problem in MOC and Pure fiction has been my second team doing no damage when compared to my stacked Acheron team that has Ruan Mei and now having robin on that second team I've been able to comfortably beat content.

For the FUA team it's not as expensive as you make it sound to be (even though it's still above average cost compared to other comps). The biggest factor is indeed E1 Topaz with sig LC to comfortably 0 cycle MoC 12/play optimally, but if you're not a tryhard, it's still an extremely powerful auto comp. You don't need Ratio, Robin or Aven sig/eidolons
Having either S1 or E1 is already good for Topaz, Having both is even Better for the 3 debuffs and the Combined buffs both Provide.

If you are running the IPC comp and everyone has their sig LC's Topaz only needs S1, she doesn't need both E1 and S1.

All the issues with the IPC comp are Ratios issues needing debuffs, when a better followup main dps comes out he'll be replaced easily, or at least be a more consistent option for people without lcs/e1s
From what i heard from other player who has whaled acheron, robin becomes valuable if acheron is e2s1, so she can spam ult more often cos of that turn manipulation, that is what they said

I am running E0Ratio with herta LC, E0S1 Topaz, E0S1Robin, and adventurine with trends. It's pretty comfortable:-D
The only reason I pulled for Robin is because I want to move Ruan Mei to Firefly's team so I needed a good support for my DoT team! And tbh, Kafka/Black Swan with a 4k attack Robin and a 3k attack Tingyun managed to get me my first 0 cycle! It was amazing!
thanks for pointing out the problem with the premium FUA team, though i feel that it's a problem of that archetype in general. each FUA unit has a specific use case where they shine while being lackluster in other scenarios. for example, ratio and topaz are good in single target scenarios, but far from ideal in PF type content. the opposite is true for herta and himeko. this doesn't even account for their elemental typing. in the end, you'll be picking up a different FUA unit or set of units for every type of content and elemental matchup if you want an optimal or functional FUA team. it can become really expensive, really fast. i like the gameplay, but i'm not a fan of where that road is headed towards.

I picked her up as I don't have Ruan Mei and I needed a second high end support to run through high end MoC. Sparkle has helped me out a lot but I don't have Tingyun quite ready. I do have Blade pretty much locked in and I think Robin will work great with him but I have to see how to make it work.
He's kinda bad paired with Robin since robin has an atk buff which blade doesn't scale really that great from it. Though he enjoys the dmg% bonus and that advance forward i guess..
The IPC team is expensive as fuck right now but if they release a follow up dps (maybe blast damage) that doesn’t rely on a ton of debuffs then ratio can be replaced and the whole team becomes less expensive.
After Acheron's release the following characters are following some kind trend where you can get the most of it when you E2 them.
I agree, and this is very stupid. I NEVER go for anything other then E0, yet I spend and have almost every chr + their sign LC. But getting more dupes of a chr for them to REALLY shine is beyond dumb. I feel like they all work and still perform, you dont "need" it.. but damn does it feel bad on some chr's to NOT have acces to their eidolons.
Thats makes a lot of characters skippable at least but at least Acheron was overwhelmingly powerful at E0S0. Robin E0S0 just seems like a lot of trouble for not much reward over other supports.

Once ratio gets out of the FUA team (he will sooner or later), the whole team becomes a LOT less expensive
Just for me personally, I would prioritize 5-star sustainers, then DPS, then buffers.
Robin is great, but she is for those who sweat and for those who have no buffers yet.

I think a DMG% orb might be competetive with an ATK% orb, since you can't get DMG% on an ATK% orb, but you can get ATK% on a DMG% orb, since she only needs ATK (and some speed for maybe 120 speed req).
If you have insane amount of attk% subs then sure
if you can get over 4k attack without an atk orb then go for it,
