saw the show on tv when i was just 10 years old...now almost 7 years later I went back and finished the entire series...I'm still amazed at how scfi abandoned it... definitely the best science/fiction series i have ever watched. the characters were what made the show so dam enjoyable for me. i just have to say from beginning to end the journey was incredible.

I think they could’ve easily gone for eight seasons, including a complete season five. They would’ve had to shift gears and make it about John and Aeryn traveling the universe exploring and trying to make things better on other worlds while raising a child alongside say an alien child. But there’s something about the old expression, “leave them wanting something more,” that suits Farscape. It’s such a jewel, beautifully polished. But dammit I miss it.

Me too. I was like "What the hell is this?!?" When my very first show was over, I was in total awe. I was instantly addicted.

Best sci-fi ever, the show was a true psychonautic experience, every challenge and hurdle the crew of Moya overcame were physical manifestations of their own inner turmoils, it was in many ways a perfect character study; what happened to the characters on screen mirrored their mental states. It was clever, it was psychadellic, it had an air that kept you on edge, a subtle sense of pervasive danger that drove you forward rather than back. Dear god, I miss it.

Farscape was such a rich, diverse universe, not just a bunch of actors with knobbly noses and funny ears. You had puppets, animatronics, CGI, explosions, guys on fire...it was huge. H-U-G-E!! Watch the first season to get a good taste of the world, then watch Season 2 for the Universe...then go with Seasons 3 and 4 to go beyond that. The main actors are wonderful, amazing. The characters are deliciously complex. Only "Firefly" has inspired similar devotion in me. Farscape is a wonder.

I've watched it not less than 5 times. Every time I see something new that somehow I've missed the previous times. Like the fact that sebacians are humans taken away by the ancients many years ago to keep the peace...

Thank you so much for uploading that. I got into the show pretty late (didn't reach my part of the world) and I wish it had gone on as it was supposed to as it quickly became my favorite show of all times.

    As I like to say:
I came for the Lifting Body (Farscape 1), and I stayed for the science fiction stories.

Never has there ever been a sci-fi series like Farscape that had so many different and unique characters in it. I applaud the creators, actors, & writers of this futuristic series. Too bad that there were some very short sighted controllers that pulled the plug.

It will be impossible for Farscape to be forgotten... to the extent that so many fans admire it..."there is no hope only the future is made by its people"... FarScape will be back. if it isnt ill eat my hat... Peace to all... Frell all the rest.

This was recorded before Peacekeeper Wars almost immediately after the wrap. They had no idea fan response was going to lead to the miniseries.

If it is not possible to get it back as TV series, I would be more than happy to see Farscape as movies. (probably in the same veins of Star Trek movies.)

I want to thank you too. This video gave me some hope. Now I want to see Farscape rise from the ashes and continue to it's very true end. And maybe a little more... :)

Farscape really shone in the later seasons. 1812 - GREAT episode. The Cartoon Episode. The Story with the ogre and of course the great "I am an American, and what does an american want? He wants to sell out" speech :D Really seemed like they let the writers kind of freelance and do what they always wanted to do.

as much as i miss farscape, i don't want to see farscape movies get made - the biggest strenght of the show was its characters, and in film you can't have a real character development, well at least to the degree that these characters deserve.

You know, I've never really heard a reason why Farscape was canceled. It really tore my heart out, even though I wasn't an avid watcher, but thinking that I'd never again heart John say something witty and earthly to unearthly aliens really hurt me. I'm currently watching all seasons, front to back.

Exactly. People don't want to use their brains in front of TV, that's why intelligent series never survive. They want action every 3 minutes, or "at least" outstanding special effects, not thinking about how well scripted a character is. They rarely care about characters and get confused when there are more than 3. That's the future on TV: Get a kill every 10 minutes, a new spaceship encounter every 20 minutes, forget about characters, that's true scifi *sigh*

Was this before or after PeaceKeeper Wars?

  • @gryphonshire
    @gryphonshire 14 лет назад

FARSCAPE, like FIREFLY, was too intelligent for the masses. Complex characters, developed and sustained over multiple episodes was just too much for the "reality-show-addled" brains of many TV viewers. Another example of great shows shoved aside for the all mighty dollar.... What a shame.
