Kenny, this is a terrific video. To everyone with this RX350, the basic instruction is this: “In order to replace all six spark plugs, disassemble the entire vehicle.”
My RX350 is also a 2008, and one of the spark plug connector clips also broke like the one in the video. I hope Lexus improved that part in later models. I also used silicone. I have used zip ties on some repairs like that but I would be concerned that a tie might eventually sever one of the tiny plug wires. There is also very little for a zip tie to wrap around.
I am 66, and in the 1980s General Motors got all kinds of bad publicity because one of its cars had a spark plug that could only be removed when one of the engine mounts was loosened and the engine raised slightly with a jack. I don’t remember the car - it was no doubt a lousy one - but after watching this video RX350 owners would be thrilled to only have one plug that difficult to remove.
I spent nearly $400 to buy a three-volume factory repair manual set. I was browsing it the other day and noticed that replacing the water pump requires removal of the engine. It’s a good thing these cars are among the most reliable.

Totally agree about difficulty of basic maintenance in Lexus. Inherited a well maintained low mileage 2003 Lexus GS300 from mother-in-law, last 5 years it was an driveway spotter, leaking oil from multiple locations. The car has been super reliable. Last oil change I took it in for the mechanic said despite the relatively low mileage of 130,000, if you were to keep the car and fix the leaks it would be just as cost effective to buy a rebuilt motor and have it installed then to have any of pan and valve cover gaskets replaced in the motor because the labor cost would be about the same.
Unfortunately I had just bought another well-maintained 2008 RX350 with 150,000 before my talk with the mechanic about the gaskets in 2003 Lexus and the difficulty of basic maintenance. I sold the 2003 Lexus and now find I need to change ignition coils on no. 2 and 3 on Lexus RX350. We all know they don't build all those shine new car dealerships on how many cars they sell but the $150-200 an hour to repair them!

My cars will do a lot of oil leaking before I chase after seals and such that either cost a small fortune at the shop or require a lot of labor in my own shop. A vehicle that uses three quarts of oil between 5,000- mile oil changes will run up an additional motor oil cost of $200 or so for 100,000 miles of driving at today’s oil prices. Can’t get much work done at a shop for that. Of course, there is the annoyance of constantly checking the oil to ensure that you don’t destroy the engine. I am watching this vid again while I type this. My wife’s 2008 RX has 111,000 miles and the original plugs. They will stay in the engine - at least the rear bank - until the vehicle throws a fault code.

I have the RX and an ES, both with the 3.5
The alternator was a bear to get to in the ES, I imagine the same goes for the RX. It was so tight up against the frame, it took 2 days for me to even figure it out. No doubt why shops charge a lot of money to repair them. The car is extremely reliable, 195k miles and that was the only problem.

I could not get the job done as they did not show how to remove it so i have to put everything back and only changed the 3 spark plugs at the front.
