The ‘Z’ is for Godzilla
LC Classics has acquired many beautiful and amazing performance cars over the years. That said, we have to admit that this 2019 C7 ZR1 Corvette convertible takes everything to a new dimension. Dressed in striking G26 code Sebring Orange paint, carbon fiber wing, a bisque tan soft top and luxurious Kalahari interior, this vehicle is simply off the charts. The ZR1 is a take-no-prisoners pavement pounding supercharged beast capable of 3 second ‘0 to 60’ times and a top speed north of 200 mph…simply stated, it’s the ‘Godzilla’ of all Corvettes.
This ZR1 is powered by an LT5 6.2 L. cast aluminum V-8 fed by a dual, direct and port fuel injection system. The engine is boosted by a massive factory installed 2.6 L. Eaton Supercharger and it spawns 755 hp and 715 lb-ft. of tire shredding torque. This prodigious power is transferred to the pavement through an 8-speed automatic transmission coupled with an electronically managed limited-slip differential. Where the rubber meets the road are 19”(F) and 20”(R) Michelin Pilot Sport Cup-2 competition tires, and they’re mounted on specially cast performance wheels to handle both tour and track mode driving. Power and performance get most of the attention, but bringing this supercharged ZR1 to a quick stop is a critical job, and it’s well managed by huge cross-drilled Brembo brakes.
2019 was the final year of the C7 series, and of 34,822 Corvettes assembled, just 512 ZR1 versions were produced. Of these, only 26 left Bowling Green, Kentucky with the combination of Sebring Orange paint and the sumptuous Kalahari cabin. Add to this
the tunnel-tuned composite ZTK ‘high wing’ option, dynamic ground effects, a competition spec cooling system and an air induction carbon-fiber hood dome and it’s clear that nothing has been overlooked on this truly rare and spectacular sports car.
