    I don't know why it's wobbly. But I definitely heard a Thunderbolt 1000T in the background

    I KNEW this was getting sick! I could hear it clear as day from the 1003 at the fairgrounds and I knew something sounded off about it. What's really weird is we left an audio recorder here on November 8th and it sounded just fine, so maybe it was fixed right after this, although it seems a bit out of character for Paulding to fix stuff that quick, so I'm not entirely sure.
    Paulding County's system has pretty much completely collapsed at this point. It seems as though their radio transmitter has kicked the bucket, as the last couple times we've been there, their entire system failed, and they told us that they already tested when we called, but we heard no tones or anything.

      Apparently they’re fixing Auglaize too. Maybe the combination of that siren and the fact that Charloe literally died made them realize that they should probably check up on their system

      From my understanding the county doesn’t have funding to maintain the sirens themselves. It’s all up to the individual cities/townships. Some places seem to care more than others.
      As far as the radio issue, yeah that’s definitely a problem at the county level. I’m definitely interested to see how this plays out.

      @@WarningSirensOfMichiana So, little update on the Paulding County situation. Yesterday, Tommy and I were near the area, so we decided to pass by a few of their 'bolts to see if any had changed directions since their system wide failure, and we found that both 1000s, as well as Briceton's 1000T were facing different directions than they were before, so hopefully that's a sign that they're starting to get the radio issue resolved.

      I was out there almost 3 weeks ago and the same thing happened. Called and they said they already tested, reported that nothing went off, and hung up. What makes me laugh is how paulding tests weekly yet nobody on the government level is EVER checking to actually make sure shit is working at all, nor do they even listen to hear them at the very least. Kinda defeats the point of a “siren test” lmao.

    Everything, and I mean _everything_ in Paulding Co. is falling apart. Got the now dead 1003 in Charloe, the same fate for the 1000T in Auglaize.. and many more throughout the county.
    This was filmed five months ago, and sounded fine.. it had developed the wobble, but it wasn’t as bad.

    These things are definitely showing there age i think the county is giving up on them. They don't have money to buy new sirens and can't even afford them. They got all the thunderbolts used at a discounted price (around 10 grand or less each) so its surprising theve held up this long. The darley in Cecil is gone completely and i have no idea what happened to it. It would be nice if the county could get more money from the government but as usual rural counties get forgotten about completely

    • @WarningSirensOfMichiana
      @WarningSirensOfMichiana  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah from my understanding the county wants nothing to do with them anymore. It’s all up to the individual towns/townships to come up with the money for maintenance. Some towns in the county are doing better than others. Cecil has been gone for a few years now so probably safe to say it isn’t coming back. A damn shame

    • @warningsirensofmichio9660
      @warningsirensofmichio9660 7 месяцев назад

      @@WarningSirensOfMichiana the Paulding trustees do want to fix them unfortunately their dying faster than they can buy parts for them. They only get about $5,000 a month from the government total and obviously other things take priority over the sirens. Considering they got the bolts for dirt cheap I don't even think they expected them to last as long as they have. Keep in mind these bolts are over 30 years old at this point and being out in the weather reeks havoc on them. As far as this one goes I think the high winds we had last spring really did it to this one
