- A quick tutorial on how to use the standalone gradient removal tool GraXpert, presented by Warren Keller.
You can use GraXpert to remove gradients from images, and it's arguably more powerful than DynamicBackgroundExtraction or AutomaticBackgroundExtraction. It reads and writes PixInsight's XISF files (or good ol' TIFFs and FITS), and best of all, it's FREE! Works on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Thanks for the quick tutorial. Going over to get me some GraXpert!
Thank you! Although "extreme nastiness"?? Imaging from Tokyo from my point of view this is a super smooth and barely noticeable gradient :D
very useful thank you
Thanks for the demo. It being free is a bonus. Will run some tests against DBE to see how it compares.
Great overview! Thanks for sharing! :)
Excellent tool. Just ran it on a pretty nasty gradient and did a fantastic job!
RBF is probably radial basis function (ruclips.net/video/eHaNryL_ltc/видео.html).
How is it installed in Linux?
Dear Tom,
the provided file for Linux is an executable. In order to run it you want to mark it executable first. E.g., in a terminal in the folder where you downloaded it, run: 'chmod u+x GraXpert-linux'

@@schmeIIy Appreciate your help, thanks.
Tom, it is standalone. Save a 32-bit FP from PI and import the result back in the same format.
