This generation of players have to understand that dealing with the media is a part of the job( obviously harder in the digital era) and Chuck is right 95% of the time. He only speaks about their skills and never talks about their personal life. Chuck is the definition of a great basketball analyst who provides entertainment and realness through his opinions. as a warriors fan, with klay being my favorite player, chuck was right about klay and didn’t say anything out of line. i know its a sore spot for klay because i’m sure he’s insecure about how he’s been playing lately and how his injuries will affect the rest of his career, but it’s the truth. and it really sucks that we missed out on more years of klay being the best 2 way player in the league, but it is what it is. klay is already returning to his former self this season, but he won’t be as elite as he was and it’s a hard pill to swallow for all of us.

    • @sup9542

I agree, and Klay was also my favorite but he’s not the same and I don’t enjoy watching him like I used to because I can just see the chip on his shoulder. He’s getting better but I see more chip than joy. Steph was also dumb in his remarks that Chuck should look in the mirror at his own career. Chuck has always said that the end was rough for him. That was his whole point, he saw himself in Klay.

This interview had way too much emphasis on feelings. It was a decent interview for the most part. I feel the actual business and player performance talk of the NBA gets lost in the shuffle with caring a bit too much about critiques players don't like to hear. A lot of 9-5 workers who don't make near as much as these millionaire ballers would loved to be coddled like that when their bosses get down their throats... but that seldomly happens. Pay me 20 million a year,... hell, pay me a million a year, and I could care less about what Barkley has to say about me. The NBA is still a product to sell, and the even the worst player on an NBA team is still earning more than most WNBA players. These guys are being compensated very well, so its totally fine to just stick to analytics, player performance, GM moves and other business side of things.

Chuck is right about Zion. Gotta figure out your body. Jordan and Kobe did the opposite, they knew they had to bulk up and they did.
And going off what Chuck said about having 2 deaths. I saw Steve Young describe it perfectly on PTI last week when he was asked about Tom Brady. Imagine being so good at something for your entire adult life that you are known for it. Then it stops and you become just another average guy. If given the opportunity everyone would run back and try to make the thing that you are good at last as long as possible. Because once it is done, you (the athlete) will never be the best at anything (athletic) ever again.

My biggest argument with Barkley is acts as if every player is sensitive. He makes blanket statements grouping everyone together. LeBron rarely responds to criticism
