What a funny , nostalgic, and touching story. The end and the fate of the young boys off to war brought tears. I grew up during the Vietnam war and remember those boys. As a lover of all things Bigfoot the picture of it watching the July4th fireworks is pure magic. This was a beautifully written story, read in the wonderful way only our Nance can do. Thank you. I'll enjoy this story every year as part of my 4th of July celebration!🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊
I hope the author of that story reads these comments, as I really want to share my heart. That story touched me very, very deeply as I listened to it, and I feel for the author and for his family just as any other decent human being would feel for another one. I am so thankful that you were a good cousin and a good friend who loved Ron. You were probably one of his dearest and most loyal and most trustworthy friends or relatives that he had. And I guarantee you that Ron knew how much you loved him. You had his back, and you care deeply for him. I nearly cried listening to the story. You had a good father, and it is a shame that Ronnie did not. But people cannot choose their parents. At least you and your father were people that Ronnie could count on and depend on. I am so sorry that you lost your cousin during the war, and I think both you and Ronnie for your service for our country. Your story touched me deeply and I believe every word of it. You had a wonderful grandmother too. I just pray that you have healed over the years and then that your heart is at rest knowing that one day you will see Ronnie in heaven. God bless you sincerely, and thank you for sharing that touching story. God bless you.
Thank you Nance for sharing this one again!! You ROCK!!! Best narrator EVER!! Have a safe & blessed Fourth Nance & the Sasquad!! 🎉🎊🎉🎊💥💥💥👀👀👀🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 This one was so very heart-touching Nance that it brought tears to my eyes, as I too have lost family members in the war. Many of us have. But it was a beautiful story. Thanks again Dear Nance
I live in TN. My family had a reunion every year. When my grandmother was still living, there were often around 250 people. And oooh the food! Those were some good memories.
I don't think they're afraid of fireworks, because they tend to live long lives and would have seen fireworks displays many times before. They seem to love scenic views, so they probably like to watch them for the same reason we do.
That man told his story beautifully! If that swatch grew up in that area he may have been aware that when the corn gets yay high and the children all arrive at that farm there would be lights in the sky soon. He may have grown up watching them himself, and he may have thought that chance meeting made it all go away.
Thanks Nance! Even though I heard it before, I loved it even more. Brought back memories of people and past events. Seems like many things do so these days. Seems like time almost stops for a moment. Anyways, thanks again Nance. Love your shows!
Fantastic story, however the end brought me to tears. Thanks so much Paul for sharing your treasured last 4th of July family gathering & thank you Nance for another great narration-!
What a fabulous telling of that story Nance! I was 8 in 1965, turned 18 in April of 75 just before the war ended while my family was stationed at Ft. Hood Texas. Dad was career Army and a Drill Sgt, he had already been to Vietnam and back. But the story brought back so many memories of family get togethers and us teenaged boys traipsing off to the woods. You have a wonderful way with words and a way of putting love into your telling that's just magical to me! Thanks for taking this old boy back to his youth one more time! The men back then were a different breed I believe and I miss the old days and the family and friends I've already lost. Sorry you're having issues with those pirates!
My God, what a great story all the way around. It brings back my memories of big family get togethers back in that same relative time frame, except that in 1965, I was five years old, not 15. Our family reunions took place in Indiana, a midway point for the Illinois contingent of the family and the Ohio one to meet, held at a lake front place of the Indiana squad. I didn't even know but a fraction of those present. It's hard for me to imagine now I ever had so many distant relatives. The only time I'd see them was at this annual event. I remember all the old timers, the men hanging in out along the lake, telling stories, fishing, drinking their beers or maybe something a bit stronger. The women usually inside or close to the cottages, making food, maybe sewing or knitting. I think the big thing they all did was to work on quilts. This story is so vivid, it brought back memories of times that as a child I don't have too many memories of, more hazy bits and pieces of distant memories and I haven't thought of those days in many, many years. The recollections of this author relating to the Vietnam War, I found to be very powerful, especially his feelings of loss over losing his best friend to that war. I have gotta say, Uncle Vern sure was a nasty piece of work. That was downright cruelty to write that letter. Finally, as to the Bigfoot watching the fireworks, I hope he enjoyed them as much as the family did. I hope he got as much awe and joy that humans do from seeing them. I am coming to the conclusion that we lump a mix of creatures into a big bag of Bigfoot/Sasquatch type creatures with some of them being very much human like, not really a true threat to us on to other true monsters being dangerous and downright evil and not quite of this Earth, or at least coming from those dark places that go back deep into antiquity.
Aaron Billings - It's one of my favorites, too. I remember working so hard to get all the video just right for this story that it really upset me to have to give it all up, even though I could prove I had a license on all of it. Thanks for enjoying it all over again!
@@BuckeyeBigfoot I am sorry it is robbery that RUclips is doing this to people's material we all know that you put alot of work into your videos and the quality shows thank you !!!

Koko Comma - thanks for understanding. I've only had to do this twice, and I hope I don't have to do it again. I hate giving up all the comments on the original video, all the stats - it ALL goes away when I have to delete it. :(
I don't know who was responsible for writing this story but it was brilliant!!! One of the best I have heard. Who ever it was needs to write a book! The way it was told and written it was like I could see this tale unfolding in my mind!! Just brilliant is all I can say. Thanks Nance you nailed it !!! 🤯😍🥰 I loved it you are one mean story teller!!!
Before the nanny state laws forbid such home grown fireworks, we used to gather with the neighbors in NW Oregon and do the same thing. Lots of fellowship and good food and fireworks as big as only the licensed outfits set of now. No bigfoot around that I knew of but ya never know! Thanks for bringing up a good memory of when my own state was a whole lot more "live and let live".
I love the stories that are full of nostalgia! This was a good one! From all the stories I've heard, I believe Squatches are very intelligent creatures. Most people just see an animal. I think he did know what the fireworks were. 🇨🇱
I just love this story. I think that Bigfoot was just as amused by the fireworks show as the kids were after all they don’t get to see them very much anyway
That was a good story Nance! Think a big foot will eat almost anything, the corn plant is 100 percent used corn for us the rest for feed for the farm animals. Thanks!👍🇺🇸👍
Hi Ms. Nance. I remember this story from the first time you told it. I've always liked it too. I couldn't even imagine what was going through the minds of those youngmen. Just from what you told us, they WERE silently freaking out!!! But still, not knowing just EXACTLY what you were seeing, well, THAT in itself is scary enough. THEN seeing it AGAIN while watching the fireworks...WOW!!! Now, as far as why the Big Guy was there, watching the fireworks, I think at first he DID come to look what was causing the loud noise. BUT, when he saw the pretty lights AND different colors, he was mesmerized by them!!! Just like alot of us still are today. Well, I know I still am sometimes. He didn't even think about the fact that people could see him. Well Ms. Nance, I hope you have had a great 4th of July weekend, and a safe one too. OH, BTW, I just ordered me a Sass-Squad Founding Members Coffee Cup!!! I already have a Buckeye Bigfoot mug. But I just love the Logo on this one and I just HAD to have it!!! Take Care of Yourself and Your Family!! Be Careful and Stay Safe Out There Ms. Nance!!! Much Love to You and Yours!!!
I have to agree for years my family gathered at my paternal grammas house for a weeks camping it was wonderful now she is gone & so are my aunts & uncles so we can't do it anymore
I bet the creature was generally scared of the booms of the fireworks, but was uSed to this every year, & had figured out you could watch them for a show & had seen the humans watching & happy about them.
Thanks Nance, I really enjoyed listening to this one again, I think (now, as well as then) that it is one of the better stories sent in to you, maybe it being from that time frame, I am about a year younger than the writer, that I enjoyed it so much. I can't remember if I commented back then, I probably did, but hey, the memory bank doesn't always let me make a withdrawal when I want it to, lol. Thanks again, Nance, your Sas-Squader from South Jersey, D.J.
PS: As for whether the fireworks should have scared the Sasquatch off, I'd say that the one in the story had probably seen them before and maybe more than once and figured out that whatever this was it wasn't going to hurt him and I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't actually looking forward to seeing them again, and he probably figured out that when all of those folks gathered there he knew that the colorful light show was going to happen again! Now about the corn, I do believe that due to the corn being so short, the stalks were still pretty pliable and were easy to eat. I'm no corn expert but I did live in the mid-west from '03 until '17 on a corn and soybean farm and actually did some farming!
This is one of my favorite stories I've ever narrated. I'm glad it still is popular with people. The original video graphics were just perfect with it. Ahh well - blame AdRev for Third Party for not being able to use the videos. (They are well known pirates from Malaysia, I think it is. They try to look all legal, but they are pirates) And I didn't see another comment from you from a year ago. :)
@@d.j.smithjr.3029 - Yeah, I think it had seen them at least a couple times before. For all we know that bigfoot was a good hundred years or more old and had seen them many times in its life.
I'm glad the other uncles gave Vern a taste of what he needed most! What a lousy low down dirty thing for him to do sending that letter about his son being killed. Didnt sound like he cared about his son but just wanted to upset his nephew who was still in country serving.
I'm really enjoying your stories on Bigfoot. I have had a few incidents myself over the years in Northern California about the time of the infamous Patty & in Oregon where I live now. So I am definitely a believer of the big guy. And I do love hearing other peoples stories.
That story was originally released July 4, 2019 - and it is STILL one of my all-time favorites that I've narrated for this channel. I wish I could put the original video back up with it - it was perfect. I am glad it still has the power to please people. Thank you!
What a tragic loss in a war created for profits. Those young hero's 🇺🇸 I was 8 in 1968. I remember that and its daily place on TV News. I was the first with routine, daily, film footage. These events are when I want to unplug MS News and the Politicans whom rated have a clue that: *"They don't really run anything but meetings, errands, and paperwork."*
More than likely the Wood Booger was more concerned on what on earth the noise and color was more than anything else and was wondering what all those ppl were so fascinated with 2 .So it was looking up in the sky to see what these "humans" were looking at cos he was also curious .Have a Happy 4th all y'all
This was a great story Nance ❤ and I believe th sasquatch came because of the loud booms but was in awe of all the bright beautiful lights in the sky . Happy Independence Day 2023🥳
I believe I heard this one before but I did see something about a rerelease. It was still great hearing. I had to recently eliminate another Sasquatch channel due to lack of content. It’s just u sassy Nancy and “Bigfoot Case files”. U do such a great job and always look forward to listening to your videos while enjoying my favorite Chinese buffet. Thanks 😁👍👍
I remember the 4th at my grandmother's. Seeing all my cousins, uncles and aunts there. Then the fireworks that my uncle brought down. Great memories. The big guy could have been watching up on the ridge. Never known.
I enjoyed the story very much.yes I think the Bigfoot enjoyed the fire works.yes I think they eat different types of plants too.a lot we don't know about them🦍❤️👍😄😎🤔👁️👁️
Great story though bittersweet. Yes, I have heard of BF eating the actual cornstalks. Just as long as they are not behind my house in my little garden, I'll be happy to hear of others encounters! Nance, THANK YOU! I LOVE listening to you narrate these incredible stories; you do such a GREAT job with them. Keep em' coming Girl!!! BTW, it is Dec. 12th, (I listen to many of your stories over and over again; that's how much I enjoy your narrations), and I want to wish you and your loved ones a VERY Merry Christmas, and a most happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! Much Love from one of your Sasquad, Lindsay, Sacramento.
I have seen a "veritable posse" of family men form right before my eyes once in my life - but not because of bigfoot. Men in a group do tend to band together - thankfully!
These creatures tend to watch nearly every aspect of human behavior. Why not fireworks? Loud noises with no pain would allow any intelligent being to note the humans show no fear so let’s hang in and observe.
Maybe the Squatch was hard of hearing. I had a deaf dog that I introduced to the beauty of fireworks. Once she saw them she saw birds, planes and clouds! Her hearing brothers were too afraid of the noise to appreciate the fireworks. Thanks for the great story!
I used to use what was supposed to be royalty free music as backgrounds to videos. But then RUclips started making copyright claims. I had to delete a few videos. Never got around to redoing them. No I do my own music backgrounds. You Are Not Alone.
Let's not assume that was the first time BF was there for fireworks. Perhaps has come to enjoy them over years of exposure. We just don't know the comings and goings of these creatures over the years and decades.
I had a uncle vern as a step father, I'm 48 now and since my 20's, I wish a uncle vern would, got my wish and he learned the hard way and by no Bigfoot either...
Our family reunions were held in the cow pasture ( cleared of all cow patties) every summer it was wonderful & lasted all weekend loved the camping out.

Great story! The writing and descriptions were touching,…
Awesome story. I think the Bigfoot was prob mesmerized by the fireworks.
I had an uncle Vern . Can’t say that I miss him .
Stephen Moore - seems a lot of families have some version of an Uncle Vern!
Buckeye Bigfoot sad but true
I'm glad the other uncles gave Vern a taste of what he needed most! What a lousy low down dirty thing for him to do sending that letter about his son being killed. Didnt sound like he cared about his son but just wanted to upset his nephew who was still in country serving.
Me to....I had to leave when he passed....to laugh
I had a great-grandpa Vern. The best man ever. Not all Vern's are like his uncle.
I'm really enjoying your stories on Bigfoot. I have had a few incidents myself over the years in Northern California about the time of the infamous Patty & in Oregon where I live now. So I am definitely a believer of the big guy. And I do love hearing other peoples stories.
Wow! What a great story! I think, the fireworks 🎇🎆 just got its attention and curiosity with all the noise, light and smells.
That story was originally released July 4, 2019 - and it is STILL one of my all-time favorites that I've narrated for this channel. I wish I could put the original video back up with it - it was perfect.
I am glad it still has the power to please people. Thank you!
I’d also like to hear “the other story” about the family ruckus with bad Uncle Vern!
And I’m so saddened about sweet Ronnie.
Methinks he came out to enjoy the fireworks
What a tragic loss in a war created for profits. Those young hero's 🇺🇸
I was 8 in 1968. I remember that and its daily place on TV News. I was the first with routine, daily, film footage.
These events are when I want to unplug MS News and the Politicans whom rated have a clue that: *"They don't really run anything but meetings, errands, and paperwork."*
More than likely the Wood Booger was more concerned on what on earth the noise and color was more than anything else and was wondering what all those ppl were so fascinated with 2 .So it was looking up in the sky to see what these "humans" were looking at cos he was also curious .Have a Happy 4th all y'all
Thank you.❤
I am so sorry about your cousin Ronnie and I am so sad that was your last time ever at your grandmother's
I'm glad you do not NEGOTIATE WITH PIRATES. I do love the Bigfoot picture..... keep up the good work on shareing Bigfoot stories from your fans
*Yeah. They could have made a movie out of this one.*
Who knows - maybe someday they will. :)
@@BuckeyeBigfoot *Wouldn't that be nice... lol. :-)*
Its july 4th 2022, fireworks are popping outside, while im listening to this.
Very cool!
Thanks 😁👍👍
Ronnie's dad is a jerk.
Great story
I lost a uncle in Vietnam
Great story, was laughing at the part were the guys loaded the guns and went out on the hunt, I can see my family doing that. Would be a lot of fun.
I have seen a "veritable posse" of family men form right before my eyes once in my life - but not because of bigfoot. Men in a group do tend to band together - thankfully!
Amen
I felt so sorry for this guy's cousins being drafted to Vietnam. And the story of bigfoot was amazing.
Wow , Yeah, I think the Bigfoot was into it. I like the story.
1965. I was 5. 😁
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO THE BIG GUY AN TO THE SAS-SQUAD AN TO YOU NANCE BE SAFE OUT RUNNING AROUND BLOWING UP THE SKY !!! PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL!!!
Lots of us have had an "Uncle Vern" type somewhere in our lives. It's a shame, really.
Glad yours got taught a lesson!
I don't care about family politics. I would have let Uncle Vernon know exactly how I felt about him, right in front of the entire family.
They ARE NOT Creatures....THEY ARE PEOPLE
Our family reunions were held in the cow pasture ( cleared of all cow patties) every summer it was wonderful & lasted all weekend loved the camping out.
