Let me explain this for everyone confused: If it's a "gift" it's a huge tax write-off (even if they rent it out/list it on airbnb for a decade/their son never actually moves into it/sells it)
It's a tax game and huge investment for their son. Am all for this idea. Most people don't understand that real estate is an asset while cars and trips are not!!
Cars I agree on. Trips though can be completely transformative and can be looked at as intangible assets which could be built on and remembered for the rest of your life. Other kind of value.
Good parents always work hard to build a warm family for their kids to grow up in. That's the start of a future, no matter what, core value and humanity prevail.
College? The outdated curriculum from 1950's. Many rich people don't go to college you are influenced by those media and government to be slave and poor. LOL!
where was the kid? that would have been nice, to coincide with the title, but whatevs HGTV... UK... lol as per usual tho, Chip & Joanna knocked it out beautifully
From what I’ve been able to find in different interviews- the pieces that were made for the house, basically anything Clint Harp creates stays in the house. Sometimes Joanna gets to use the pieces the homeowner already has (I’m thinking if it matches the decor) and all others are staged pieces that are packed up unless the homeowner wants to buy them.
but what r they gona do with the house for the next 6y? and its very femine and more family oriented...not suited for a teen going to college even though the job is really nice
🌝🌝 I'm dying of laughs u are really saying that there is a teen who is gonna refuse a house becoz it's feminine and not teenage looking ....🏡unless teens of the USA

Cars give freedom of travel, which is very important for taking active part in society, especially in the states where you need a car to get anywhere.

I liked the porch, they may not miss it since they're not really going to live there, but it'd be good space for little kids or pets.
chip and jo are the sweetest people ever! they're sooo nice and loving. good vibes only.
Extremely beautiful transformation
You two are a loving, and cute couple!
They added some beautiful arches. Would have kept the original bedroom niche.
So we'll check back after the son is in college and has trashed it, right?
Maybe the 12yo kid doesn’t want to go to Baylor. Why not let him have his own dreams, instead of trying to live his life for him?
Exactly what I thought.
Wonder if he doesn't want to go to that college?
College is about traditions for Southerners, you go where your father and grabdfather goes.

@@girlbossfromscratch they probably go just to party, for the "college experience".
I just noticed this house is beside the giraffe house.

Absolutely stunning like always. I just wonder, does it include the furniture and accessories too?
@marieslabbert no, it does not. The staging is packed up after the reactions.
@@Thatgirlfriz Seriously?
I would imagine they could opt to buy it.

@Yuri Orloff I don't think I've ever seen an African refugee begging in the street.
@Yuri Orloff lol you got me, and no I haven't been to Africa
My husband is a builder and he loves to put in Mediteranian arches.
when i was 12 years old my parents were still deciding to give me separate cupboard or not. still sharing room with siblings.
Yeah! Houston! Born and raised!🥰
Since the house consists of 3 bedrooms the boy can rent out 2 rooms and earn money when he is in College
I DONT GET IT..WHY DO YOU BUILD A HOUSE FOR A 12 YEAR OLD???
lisa houk too much money, don’t know what to do with it.
Control?
i think its a great investment cause property will probably go up...but i do wonder what they r gona do with it till then
