The Tech Disc looks pretty neat. I think I would only get it for the data, not so much the simulator. Also, that flashback with Rachel was hilarious! 😂
Would love to use the technology but not affordable for me yet. I could see paying to use it at a local store or with a local pro. Keep up the great content!
The best thing for me was the Nose Angle, Speed, and Rotation numbers… but the thing that gave me the most insight was the slow-motion video it records for you and tracks all the info. I was surprised at how quick it recorded the video on my phone and then instantly was available on the website for review (as well as on the phone).
On a calm day and a flat field tech disc distance is really quite good actually. From my personal experience, I was throwing within 20ft of the distances I was getting in tech disc.
I honestly like it for just testing your form. You can make slight changes and see what varies speed, spin, etc. I mess around with my grips alot. I have found a consistent 1200+ rpm grip and that was all thanks to the TD. Love the hats!
I have a Tech Disc and a subscription. You can also video yourself through the phone app, and it automatically captures the video in Slo-mo and overlays the data. the good is you can Drill launch and nose angle. The not-so-good physics model needs some love, and throwing in a garage into a net is unnatural. But this thing is awesome and has improved me and my buds game drastically
The tech disk is a good idea but needs to be simplified. It makes sense to get some type of analytical base line to take out into the field, but it just seems extra for a non-professional disc golfer.
I'm also not sold on the subscription but I definitely want a tech disc. I really think the best option is to go in on one with a couple buddies to share. Like I don't think it's worth $300 to me but I definitely think I would be okay with $100 and sharing it.
I do think the Tech Disc is worth buying. Especially if you are willing to put in the time and work and not just use it as a novelty to see how hard you throw. As a former pro level cycling coach, the use of tools like this can really refine a training program. I think there is a long way the tech disc can go to getting better, and I agree the simulation isn’t good enough and lacks a big enough library for that portion to be worth it. However for a shop, getting a full simulation setup could be really cool to draw people in!
I think the Tech Disc is worth it if you can use it to change your form. I'm not really interested in the simulator, other than seeing where the disc went for each throw. Not so much that I want to play any course. But testing changing angles throwing into the net is also pretty useful.
At the time for me it isn't worth it. However I would love to get some type of lessons to see what I am doing wrong or something that may be adjusted to get me some extra footage on throws.
I think its worth it for a group of friends to split. Then they can do the garage gathering or use it for a week and pass it on. It's expensive for one person to use it and then leave it on the shelf...😅
We live in Northern Michigan and we do that about once a week. We also play in the snow. Either embrace the cold and snow, or be miserable till spring.
It looks like a cool product but I feel like taking videos from the side view of your drives might be better for actually seeing what you need to fix form wise, ya know? I could be wrong though it probably is more useful for people who play a lot more than I do
I think for the weekend warrior just the tech disc without the subscription would be worth it especially if you and your buddies shared the cost. As for the subscription I would say no to that price. 15 bucks a month sure 25 maybe. Also Asher I am sure if you had a computer with a faster processor the calculations would speed up.
It looks neat but seems to need some improvement. Once they start updating and getting approaches on there, it'll be worth it. Can you switch out the disc you use?
@@MandatoryDiscGolf yes that you can change, well like you can change how the disc flies on the program I can’t change my destroyer to a mid but I’m still throwing a destroyer haha
@@asheranders901 Got it, so that device on the bottom of the disc is fixed and cannot be switched to a different disc, correct? Essentially that disc you have in your hand is the only one you can use to work the program.
I would say that having a tech disc set up can be worth it, if you're a player who wants to develop a few of the metrics. If you use it as a tool I think the normal functions are helpful and worth it. I don't see any value though in turning it into a glorified video game. Practical application is where it holds value.
If I had the space, or finances, I’d get myself a Tech Disc set up. It’s absolutely worth it if you’re wanting to fix your form and accuracy! You’re awesome ASHER!🫡
Your first tech disc video is how I found your channel, I’ve been waiting for this video

Spin rate and nose angle helped me. Nice to know what needs to be corrected.

Worth it. It's helped my backhand a lot. I now feel comfortable throwing backhand
I have a net that I just got so was thinking about this as my next step but just for off-season working on my drives
If I had the space I’d definitely be getting one, nose angle is a big issue for me that it would help me see

Cool video man

I am still on the fence about this, not sure if I would like that over field work

I think the tech disc looks interesting but currently I can learn plenty from field work sessions.
I do think however, that it would be good on showing specs on speed, wobble, angle of release! But at that point, is it really worth the money?
I just started. Not sure if I can afford this though.
