I have a theory for the arsonist, I believe that the arsonist was on another ship attacked by terrifying shapeshifting aliens (imposters) but he was the only survivor. despite his traumatic experience the mira corporation put him on a new ship called the skeld. after some time he found that he has weird spores on his suit for the old ship he escaped from but thought to himself that he will be fine. in a few hours the spores broke off and gave birth to a new alien (the imposter). instead of calling a meeting the arsonist hid and waited for the alien to vanish, when it did he know that no madder what happen on the ship the only way to stop the alien was to make sure no one escaped alive, including himself(because the spores spread). He walked to the storage room and he saw it, the way to end it all... gas.
this is just beautifully written the animation, the lyrics, everything the way that he says "not every spark leads to fire, but smoke always says flame, can you catch out the liars, before you hear his name?" almost as if it is a warning is just peak, him pretending to not know why he smells gasoline is peak, how he reacted to impostors leaping at him is genius his methods of getting gasoline on the crew are genius. most of the lyrics have double meanings every lyric where he tries to find the impostor has the double meaning of him intending to eject him and intending to burn him "not every spark leads to fire but smoke always says flame" is a metaphor for both looking out for definitive signs of who the impostor is and him intending to burn the skeld. "there's only 1 way this game will end" could mean both the impostor being ejected and the skeld being set ablaze. judging by him telling the impostors of his intent to burn them alive, the lyrics are spoken aloud, which gives a whole host of meanings to a lot of the song, for example: "not every spark leads to fire, but smoke always says flame" can now be interpreted as a subtle warning to the crew, and "can you catch out the liars before you hear his name" now has a metric shitton of meanings. the visual storytelling is perfect, along with the animation quality AND what is shown in the animation, for example, the places he coated with gasoline are really clever, like, in the vents is a surefire way to get the impostors to get covered in gasoline, the only flaw in his plan is a physical list, but even then the crew wouldn't know what that means until he already sets the skeld ablaze. also, assuming that the spacesuits are fireproof, that explains why he never burns and why he needs gasoline to burn the skeld, alternatively, the arsonist himself could have a special fireproof suit. also, using a lighter is genius for serveral reasons, firstly, he conditioned them to look for matches in a very subtle way by saying "light a match, watch your step, you don't know what comes next, could be danger lurking 'round the corner", by making them subconciously associate matches and danger so that in case they figure out his intent, they won't think to look for whether or not he is holding a lighter, since they will automatically think of matches, also, lighters are commonplace to have so it is more inconspicuous to have than a match and something to light it on, and there is also the fact that lighters can be mistaken for bits of metal at first glance if they are closed, also, they are smaller so they easily fit into any storage container, also, he does a lot of genius tricks to avoid suspicion, for example, "thought we're supposed to be on the same team" sounds like something a crewmate would say without even realizing, making him not a major suspect, also, warning the impostors seems like a bad idea until you realize he had it planned out, the gasoline on their feet would set on fire before they slashed him and, had he ran away or thrown the lighter, they would be aware of what he expects to happen, therefore, they would be capable of easily avoiding it, assuming that they have fast reflexes, so, therefore, keeping them unaware is the best way to ensure that they get burned alive, also, making the impostors aware that he knew that they were impostors was a surefire way to get them to attack, and, furthermore, he did it after he had covered everyone so that everyone ended up getting burned afterwards, and, even more than that, him dropping the lighter could be interpereted as surrendering or accepting his death, and, also, "setting fire to you" could be interpereted as a metaphor for getting rid of them through ejection, so by holding a lighter and pointing at them, he effectively eliminated that possibility, and, even more, he kept them unaware that their feet were covered in gasoline so that they would try to lunge at of maroon since maroon is the person that black was suspicious of, so the impostors had to rarely kill, as to not get found out by black, however, at 1:23, we see that due to them being coated in gasoline, black knows that yellow and maroon are impostors, however, doesn't accuse them in the meeting because he wants to burn them later on, which is likely the only way to kill the impostors for good, since, the impostors have likely adapted to space, assuming that they are aliens pretending to be crewmates, so they could just shoot the massive window in cafeteria or use their tounges to break the window, therefore causing all the air in the skeld to get sucked out and causing the crewmates to all die, the arsonist likely knew this and realized that fire was the most likely method of making sure that the impostors die, since fireproofing would be unlikely, given that fire would be significantly less deadly in the vacuum of space than it would be in air, meaning that fire is the best and easiest method of ensuring that the impostor dies. also, notice at 2:44 how he realizes that he only coated the sheet of paper that dark green was holding in gasoline, not dark green himself My theory is that the arsonist was a normal crewmate but at the first death he lost his/her trust and started to have trust issues after that he wanted to end all of this just like in the Alien movie Ripley (who what i mean gets it) and he thought that only way to end bloodshed to burn the ship

My theory is that the arsonist was a normal crewmate but at the first death he lost his/her trust and started to have trust issues after that he wanted to end all of this just like in the Alien movie Ripley (who what i mean gets it) and he thought that only way to end bloodshed to burn the ship

Someone has probably pointed this out but i absolutely love how each time the line "he's sus, there's no time to waste" is repeated the arsonist points at the known imposter, then both of them, and finally himself, the neutral party that's going to kill them all ("a glimpse of hope in their eyes til they see I'm bad") cool little details like that are why i absolutely adore animated music videos ❤
