Ive been doing my best to plan a tropical balcony garden...in sweden!! It's not easy but winter gives us time to adjust our plans and think of ideas! Youre an inspiration!
Gosh I’ve missed your videos, the tropical plants I need. I would love a biorb maybe now I’ve seen your video il get one as it looks beautiful!!! I like Christmas but roll on Spring, I’m over this horrible windy and rainy weather. Have a wonderful Christmas Hannah!!
Hi my Dear! I love you video! I follow you from Venezuela! You have inspired me to make a similar porch🌿💚 .. When I see your garden I imagine that I walk in it and I found a beach in the background. In the little wooden house behind you, you could hang a circular lifebuoy or a surfboard as decoration, it would look spectacular😎.
Thank you 🌺🌼🌸 I’m a bit limited with space for more garden decor but one day maybe when I have a bigger garden I have some ideas like yours 🌊☀️ Thanks for watching 🌺☺️
Even though I live in 8b/9a in northwest panhandle of Florida I wrapped my bananas as well I have a few that should produce edible bananas soon. Always sad to see cannas and bananas die back but look forward to next spring in a few short months
Wish I could leave my tropical plants outside but I live in canada and it gets way too cold in our winters. It's quite a job bringing them all inside and now I have an indoor jungle!!
I’m in 8b in the states & have a tree fern in a pot now a few years but this year left it out to see how it would fair at 28 degrees & sure enough the fronds turned brown. (I usually bring it into the garage but it gets cold in there also.) I read they can take frosts & I see yours isn’t covered or wrapped. I need to add some fleece to the center but thought I would continue to leave it outdoors as you have. But your fronds haven’t turned brown after your frost???
After consistent frost or snow they can turn brown, some years mine stay mostly green, last year they all went brown and crispy so depends on what kind of winter we have ❄️❄️❄️
Thanks for sharing, love your videos....I planted some Cannas & Colocasias this year in pots, so overwintering is new to me....Do you do the same if the plants are in pots?
Where are you living? I note this video a month old and you’ve already had frost. I never fleece my tree friends and they have survived -16. I might take your tip of the bananas however as definitely the trunks to lose. Have you any tips for more colour in my garden? I have alstroemerias and begonias. Some of the other plans I’m using don’t flower until late summer. I’m looking for something that will last all summer with colour.
I’m in the UK, if you have a look at my tropical garden playlist I have lots of videos in there from all year round, there are tours with the plant names. Cannas are lovely for colour and Crocosmia 🌴
I was wondering about the horticultural fleece; is that allowed to get wet? I'm in the Netherlands, zone 9a/b but winters here are just non stop rain and cold. It would seem to me the fleece should stay dry which would make it challenging to apply it
Love your garden, still looking great with the cold...
💚🌱☘️🌵💚
Really enjoyed watching your lovely video. 🥰 🫖☕
Stunning!

Hi Hannah..you are hard working,
Waiting house plants 🪴 videos…

Wow yes I can imagine that’s a big job each year! Bet your indoor jungle is amazing 🌿🌴🍃
I wrap my banana in winter too...
Best way to keep the height 😁🌴
How cold does it get in the Winter? I live in CT US and brought in my banana. I have to dig up my Cannas and put the corms in the cellar.

Yes I do the same for the plants in pots, I cut them back and mulch over them too 🌺
@@TropicalPlantAddict thank you... I will do likewise 💚
How do you over winter the palms?
I don’t have to do anything with the palms 🌺

@@TropicalPlantAddict I know you’re in the uk, just wondering how far north. I’m in Dublin, Ireland.
@@patrickbrennan911 I always put the details in the description box under my videos as I get asked often 🙃 I’m south-east, hampshire zone 9a 🌴

Yes it can get wet no problem, it just stops the plants from freezing but allows airflow and light through 🌿
What do you do with the palm? Fleece?
No I just leave the palms, they are pretty hardy 🙃🌺🌴
