I’m a train conductor out of Cincinnati. I frequently cross a railroad bridge that crosses the Kentucky river, which I believe you have filmed before. I’m not sure if there is an official name for it, but we call it “high bridge” on the rails. You wouldn’t believe how many bridge trespassers we have near misses with on any given day. Teenagers, homeless, sight seeres, you name it.
Hello @cinavon, this bridge is the New River Bridge located in Scott County Tennessee and is just outside of the town of Helenwood. It's actually one of the tallest bridges in TN at a height of 389ft. It was built in 1963 and was one of the last of this style truss bridges to still be constructed with rivets. Hope this helps you figure out if any of your runs have crossed it. Train bridges anyplace are impressive, so you've given another location we can look into. Thanks!
Are you CSX or NS. I railfan on the Toledo sub and Dayton District almost daily.
NS, CNOTP North :)@@LostDepot
Smashing dear stuck in train lights
Re-enacting the movie "Standy By Me" perhaps? 🙄
Yeah dude was covering his face at the end of the encounter. Didn't want to be seen by the camera.
Yeah, he was up to no good I think.
@@KenHeronprobably said the same about you two with the drones...
He was using the bridge to cross,
He ran because you never want to be on the bridge when a train crosses it.
Covered his face so the railroad company doesn't fine him.
It's quite common where I'm from.
Those guys are the Three Stooges of drone pilots. Oh wait a second...Upon further consideration, BRILLIANT! Absolutely awesome flying!
You are aware, your one of us Stooges right! Nuk, Nuk, Nuk! Wise guy aye!
Ken is the most comical drone pilot I know . Woo woo woo. Come on, nuckleheads
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣spot on
I was never there. @@DDsAerialViews
"That was awesome/fantastic". I TOTALLY AGREE! I have been in some situations that you need to get powered up and ready to go ASAP, the adrenal glands sure start pumping then!
That was a fun video to watch.
Good to know I’m not the only old flyer that gets the shakes after a pushing it flight.
One of the tallest bridges in Tennessee, also one of the last Metal Cantilever Bolt-connected Warren Deck Truss bridges to use rivets over welds which became the dominate means after this bridge's construction. A sight to behold! Built in 1963 and still operating under Norfolk/Cincinnati Southern Railroad control. Or just a great place for a few drone pilots to spend a Fall afternoon. Fun stuff!
😎🤘
Agree with everything you said! Crazy rush love fpv. You do a great job ken!
That was FRIGGIN Awesome
Thank you Bob!
I do love your videos Ken, and of course your "crew". You guys really do some cool stuff - while my drones just sit there waiting and waiting for their next outing (have so little time). Keep up the great work bud 😊
Such a cool spot to fly.
Instead of FPS Doug, we have FPV Ken.
His hands are shakin', hands are shakin' but he's STILL SHOOTIN', STILL GETTING TRAINSHOTS. IT'S LIKE BOOM TRAINSHOT, BOOM TRAINSHOT, BOOOOOM TRAINSHOT.
6:38 this made me feel so nervous, for you and then at 7:10 oh man, I physically recoiled
Great video Ken loved how they got you going with quick train is coming. LOL!
Holy hell, at 3:17 you almost lost it hahaha! That was sick man! Too bad we don't have train bridges in South Florida, or I'd be flying them daily haha! ❤
Looks like that guy didn’t want to go to the Train Station😂. Cool video Ken.
Thanks Chris!
My hands were sweating the first time you hovered a few feet from those tankers, I thought those metal railings around the hatch would clip you as they flew past you
That was fun!
Tracking trains is awesome!!
Agree. Many nice videos from the US, and my pale attempts.......
Really close there a few times, the hand shake is understandable
Interesting. Always enjoy your vids and the entertaining presentation. But this one reminds me, that back in the day, Trappy got fined for flying an FPV foamy near a train - for endangering the train, or the tracks - I forget. The FAA drone regs - they're still batshit crazy.
🤪
Haha, waiting for the train.... wellcome to the club...
Mr. Heron your piloting skills are impressive to say the least. I'd never have the balls to do some of the things you do with your drones. Love the vids
You need to come up my way next time you're near Hagerstown. Im about 50 minutes up 70 by Breezewood. No trains to close by but there's a bunch of farms, rivers, hills and covered bridges for you to take a rip through.
I'll be in Breezewood around Christmas. I'll be flying through the abandoned turnpike tunnel!

I have one of those train chassis within a mile of my house I got caught on it twice as a teenager when a train came there's only little catwalks the second time we got stuck up there the train stopped and trapped us up there and called the police we climb down the iron girders like 200 some feet it was insane
You know it's good when you can't land because your hands are shakin. AWESOME!
So true.
As always nice shots
Thanks ✌
Great video, Ken!!! Watching you three is always entertaining!!!!
I appreciate that!
Really cool shots just never get too close to the train
So I have a question ...what did tornadoes sound like before the freight train was invented??
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
WOW, Nicely Done, Ken. Thank you for sharing this fun location to fly a drone. Now every conductor on the route will fear for their lives, LOL! Awesomeness!
Your best FPV flight yet!!!
Looked like guy on bridge was trying to hide his face with his hand ad you flew by him.
He was. Then he ran into the woods. I would have followed him but I was losing connection and had to return.
I love FPV
U R Correct...Absolutely Awesome!!! WOW!! Loved U chasing that train. And the footage...WOW!! Thanks 4 sharing guys! More Please. Cheers!😎😎😎🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Thank you! Will do!
Nice adding the train's sounds to the video...damn smart. A for your flying...I need to make a visit to the bathroom...like right NOW. You almost lost it bro.
Those were the real train sounds.
@@KenHeron I figured those were the real sounds but not from the drone. You were 'production minded enough' to record the sounds of the trains to be 'added later' unless I got this all wrong. Anyway, if there is anyone who might persuade me to get a FOV drone...it's you. Happy flying.
Thanks bud!
I wear a microphone and sync the audio with the drone later in editing. 👍
Thank you. That was fun.
This video couldn't be any more perfect, well maybe it could have had MORE trains! My two hobbies in one video, trains and drones!
lol, " My batteries' beat"
Hey Ken and Barkley, Great shots of the new river bridge,
Love seeing an alert for Ken. Love watching you, even my wife has gotten into your videos. Btw, I bought a radio master tx12 and have been simming it up pretty hardcore. I feel like I'm ready for the real deal. Thanks for the inspiration, can't wait to build my first drone. Hope life is treating you well. 😊
Just remembered @ Philip Bloom on the stick resistance thingy gadget.
Same!
Intense! My hands were sweating! 🤟🏼😆❤️
Been subscribed to you for a few years now; pretty cool seeing you make a video where I live!
So the guy on the bridge was using the bridge to cross the ravine.
Nothing more.
Probably thought it was the railroad company 😂😂😂
Almost got the train! Flew through the trusses at the end, was waiting for that!
Impressive video; exciting just watching it!
Very fun channel, I love it👍
Thanks so much
Damn!!!! SKILLZZZZ!!!! That was F&@Kn AWESOME!!!
The adrenaline on hovering the train really 🔥😂🚂
That was Excellent!! Radical like Hollywood film cameras with the freight train!! Nice!! Cheers
Thank you very much!
Damn bro.. Nice flying worth the trembling hands
Cini sticks. YUMMY!
🤣
Train bridges are so cool to explore…
🤩🤩🤩🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽Hell yeah Ken! Chee whoo!
Intense for sure!
Try to report them to NS
might as well as report every foamer as well. Foamers constantly trespass because they think being a foamer gives them the legal right to be on railroad property
@@DanMeyer80 and it’s stupid
I growed up in that county I've ridden ATVs and dirt bikes across that bridge 😂😂😂😂 I can tell you without a doubt that dude was either stealing railroad stuff or harvesting his weed 😂😂😂 So glad I live in Knoxville now away from crappy places like that but they're beautiful to visit
Nice bridge for a BASE jump.
Great video! It should be against the law for anyone to have as much fun as you do. But you make me feel like I am there with you. So, thanks for the adventure. 👍👍😀
Thanks buddy! ☺️
Aw man! I wanna try!!! That train bridge was dope! I audibly yelled "oh shit" on the nice roll over into a near crash into the pillar. Awesome flying man!
Eastern Tennessee is calling you, Joe! 😂
@@107drones 🫶🏼
Bravo! Great footage.
That was Jesse stealing more methylamine.
I love the thrill
Dude, you had me turtled up about 3 times on here. I was hoping those rails on the tankers wouldn't clip your drone! Good flying and dang good luck!
Thanks Tater!
Its probably someone that just wanted to cross a bridge and not be filmed.
Its not that unreasonable.
I'm from that town and I would bet 1 million to a dollar he was either looking for something to steal or he was harvesting his weed plants 😂😂😂 nobody is just up there walking lol its literally miles from anyone or the nearest town
@@jonathanlawson4667 as someone that personally has traversed this bridge for the simple reason of wanting to see and be on it I can undoubtedly disagree.
not everyone is you, don't apply your logic to everything everyone does.
Very cool. I live an hour south of there, I need to check this out.
It's really very impressive in person.
NEW new river bridge lol
Awesome. And cool friends.
Thanks!
They are.
That made my a$$ pucker a couple of times.
Ken, you inspired me to get into drones. So far I had 4, just sold my mini 2 and getting the mini 4 pro Thursday. Thanks for the amazing content
Fun time!
Awesome video!!! It makes want to attempt to find goggles for my DJI Mavic air 2 if that’s possible… seems like a thrill
That was sick dude👊
Sick. “FRA has entered the chat” lol
My goodness, you three are such a fun team! They shouting "Train comin!" Ken throwing away everyting in his hands to get started.... and no train comin. MF got Ya! Thanks for giving me remote adrenaline when you alost hit the train when you were following the "end". Flying so high through the steel element of the bridge... You really have balls. No wonder your hands were shaking! I am just a RC heli pilot, never ever have flown an FPV drone... but I know this need some skills! Thanks for the great video!
Thanks man!
Putting yourself in challenging new situations really does get the adrenaline going. I've never flown a heli though. Looks fun!
@@KenHeron Yes, challenges are the best things in life! You should try flying a collective pitch heli once! It IS fun! So much fun that I am doing it every singe day! If there is shit weather am flying my smallest in my house! 😀
Awesome video ken. I love all your videos especially the drone crash videos. This one is amazing. And I would say that the person on the bridge is either up to no good or wanted by the law.
I actually called the Tennessee bureau of investigation to alert them.
Drone crashes volume 11 coming up this week!
So the original bridge would be the new river bridge and the new bridge would be the new new river bridge and if replaced a third time, the new new new river bridge?
So if three bridges, the first would then be the old old new river bridge, replaced by the old new river bridge, then replaced by the new new river bridge.
Would love to see you fly some HDZero Ken. Love the content bro.
if you ever get to Boone, IA, you can go to the Kate Shelly High Bridge. You would like to FPV it.
I like the pilot badge. 😂
It's Karen Repellent
I seen you here live I think just the other day
Nice! Why did bridge runner hide his face 🙆♂️
Why do ya think your not supposed to be on the tracks you can get a fine
"To get to the other side" (sorry, just to easy) Yeah, was weird for sure.
I can't wait till I can add a Drone to my video's.
Amazing video. Someone, please tell me how many cars (or wagons) are pulled by the locomotor. It seemed endless.
We didn't count, but I think it was over a mile long.
Trains on that line (Norfolk Central Central Division) can be upwards of over two miles long at times. Most will be just over a mile (8000 feet/2400m).
@@MikeCurtis7663 Thanks. You guys surely had a blast of adrenaline.
@@KenHeron Thanks. Every time I watch your videos I go and charge my DJI batteries. That hobby is very contagious. 🤓
i did not get what this vid is about!lol!😂😂
Ken, this comment was made by my 8 year old daughter as well! I apologize, I am just finding out about it... Like I said on the other comment, she is a BIG fan of yours. 😊👍🏻 And get's a hold of my iPad every now and then...
Everything you shouldn’t do when filming A train with A drone. Very lucky your drone didn’t hit that dpu. I film that bridge all the time the best spot to be is up top. I leave my drone about 10 to 15 feet above the bridge because the wind from trains will suck that drone down you got lucky.
These are specially made, acrobatic and very powerful carbon constructed drones flown by experienced pilots.
@@KenHeronthat you still almost crashed into the bridge.
“Everything you shouldn’t do when filming a train with a drone 🤓☝️” it was cool af, it’s rare you get to see locomotives that close and personal.
Analog superiority when it comes to startup time...
True
What fun!!😂😊
Nice!
I’ve watched this 5 times. Tell me why, Ken?!
Great stuff as usual.
Because... Trains?
Thanks!
Have you guys been back lately? The traffic is insane for awhile now.
Really?
@@KenHeronYes usually by 8 or 9 in the am there’s 8 to 10 trains trying to get north. Call outs are fairly sparse out of chatt until about 4pm then the night slug of trains start getting called.
South bounds are called when they are called.
Man you got soooo close!!😊😅
FPV rocks
I'm the same way Ken, hince my fpv pilot name ShakeythumbFPV
How much fun can you have with your pants on 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bridge Hunter is wrong. New River Bridge is 307’5” tall and 1,622 feet long. The only other US railroad bridge higher is on the same line in High Bridge, Kentucky (aptly named). It’s only 6” taller.
I think there's a rule against flying next to trains or railways if they're infrastructure... there's a code in the rules about it I believe as well, but I've never heard of anyone being fined for it yet.
Pretty sure Nurkfpv got a nice fine years ago for flying too close to a moving train.. seem to remember him saying it was equivalent to the cost of a small car...
Yea this is why the faa is making every one install remote ID cuz of this kinda flying. I justed like to fly my plane and helicopters and not bother any one. But punishment for all of us I guess lol lol
@@JP-qq2kn "too close" is putting it mildly. That flight was amazing if its that flight near Truckee (Reno).
@@thomasmaughan4798 lol, Yeah. Near, through.... whatever.. same same. Lol
Cool, how can see the train schedule?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
