I found out that I perform better in time trial whitout any ghost or split times they just distract me too much, the best time comes often after a reset without any of those. Great video as always btw Steve.
I did the daily race for the first time last night. Was quite challenging, especially as the warm up session left me on cold tires. It ended way too soon. For me. Ended up over shooting corner one twice and and spinning out once and pulled out an 9th place position after qualifying 5th. I’m definitely loving this game so far though. Prob only played the game for a dozen hours.
Im at B driver rating (2:19.900 is my qualy lap) and got paired with almost a full lobby of A drivers. Almost starting from the back and finished P10 ! I just remembered your Kyoto video and sticked to my strategy, keeping calm and avoiding fighting. Thank you!

Holy crap. The Moses effect was strong with this one! 12 positions gained on the last race, good job mate! Personally I love Spa, but the way the penalties work in GT makes you want to restart the quali session inmediately. There's no point in enduring the whole lap just to get the time deleted and mess up your next lap.
Holy shit what a race. That was beautiful. After buying the game and racing for two days straight I see I have so much still to learn. Its amazing to see this level of almost impecable racing and strategies from a level C perspective (from E to C in my first two days playing ever not bad!)

In one race i went out of fuel in the last chicane, so i went from 9th to 14th. I have been practicing coasting, but sometime i feel like i have to much speed and hold the break down.
I had the exact same battle on Assetto Corsa, I was in a yellow Ferrari, and the guy in first was in an Audi battled for 3 laps (I stayed behind because I didn't want to hit him because I'm not that confident yet) and he ended up pitting and quitting
Just my two cents, on the long downhill curves layoff the throttle and coast. Accelerate hard on corners but once your car is in fourth gear just let it coast, no need to throttle down when in consequence you're gonna be approaching a corner to slow down. That should conserve fuel on your battles for position near the end of the race.
My best Quali lap always seems to be my first, I can't explain why. I probably spent too much time worrying about the splits.. Good vid as always Super G! 🤩
GTS RogersRacing yep, I always catch myself looking at the running split timer at center bottom too much, it takes eyes off track and tends to make me push too much. I force myself not to look at it and it makes a difference.
My SR has tanked recently doing this race. So many bellends and a shocking penalty system. I received a 5-second collision penalty for merely looking at the wall going into the pits. I've had a 1.5-second penalty for hitting a player off track, despite them ramming me up the arse when I was in the middle of the apex, amongst others. And didn't help they I didn't know my qualifying lap time had been reset, putting me right at the back to begin with -_-
Restarting qualifying sessions does help if for no other reason than it wipes the delta counter so im focused on driving instead. Why can't we turn that off?
Hi Steve, have you watched the replay from the guy in 1rst Zavisic in your second race? It looks like he either a very competent driver or he had a very good fuel saving strategy, either way I think it's worth a look. Cheers!
Hello Super GT, viewer here. I recently bought GT Sport. I wasn't a big fan of the series before but I'm enjoying myself with this one. I tried the Spa Daily Race but I'm at 2:23 and that's just not good at all. For now I'm happy in Gr. 4. Low sportsmanship lobbies are full of utter filth but even then is not an absolute chaos all the time and you can actually get good races here and there. It's another mood entirely from other online games and I really like that. Thanks for the recommendation by proxy and keep up the good work.
As a fellow Hood Cam wheel user......can we get some traction on getting an option for a rear view camera at the top of the HUD like in Bumper/Circuit Cam?! I'm struggling mightily on my fuel saving skills because I'm FORCED to use radar on ALL turns when anyone is within 2 seconds behind me, so I'm constantly switching back and forth.......I think the Bumper Cam users have a major advantage on us Hood Cam users when it comes to fuel saving races. There is room for it at the top of the HUD.....make it an option to turn on and off for all views, in my humble opinion. ANYONE ELSE? I cant be the only one.
After watching many of your videos I won't definitively buy a racing game in the near future. A pity, but it must be frustrating when there is no real implementation of proper penalization rules. What if these games start to penalize contacts with cars getting more real damage. For example, in the real-world, if you crash with your front axle, or even worst, with the radiator, it tends to be fatal. Maybe this ramming fans will think it twice before getting out of the race after 6seconds. Of course, better algorithms for penalizations should be implemented too. What do you think?
If I asked what the best wheel is for GTS would there be anyone out there that would take the time to answer such a question? Does anyone know what wheel Steve uses?? I'm sick of the controller and want to get mega nerdy with a steering wheel and foot controls. I've wanted one for 25 years, even before they were invented I wanted one. Watching your videos has taught me a lot about fuel saving, and given me a lot of stress when it's looked like you've been on 0%
The penalties lately have been savage I seem to get hit all the time and because i refuse to take a dive and go off the track I usually get them...

If you run laps 1 and 2 on fuel setting 2 and let the pack settle out you can run the rest of the race on fuel setting 1.

That was a long time on 0%. Have to try it myself now.
0% is essentially a full percentage. So when you drop to 2%, you still actually have 3% left.

The number on your car is not where the game predicts you should end. It means you are 6th highest DR in the lobby.
Would you say that red lining your tach all the way on Lean is the same as short shifting gears on Power ?
Hmmm, tough to say. Would be interesting to do a proper test on it but I would normally just stick to short shifting on power setting 1.
