      You can’t just take valuables from the site. It’s owned by a corporation. They have recovered items from the titanic but that was done by submersibles that had the tech to collect things and the items were sent to museums.

      @@nakedcapitalistealousy has nothing to do with this , it's disrespectful no matter whos it for , the video out there of several journalists that got invited to go down on that vessel. One read the contract they have to sign and another discrived the inside of the sub. Even being told by the CEO that all that matterss was that the vessel holds. He didn't "care" if the lights went out , if the controller went out, he even said didn't matter if the propeller went out. It's takes a person with a lot of no care or commen sense to go on that thing. ... So no most "normal people" aren't jealous that their hands aren't up there butt because their rich ...it's sucks these people died but they shown the red flags and ignored them.
      Edit makes me wonder if the CEO is down there , reflecting on what he said about not caring if everything goes out except for the vessel.

      You probable already know this, but I figured I'd add it in. This situation is bleak, at best.
      The ceo cut every financial corner possible. The dang thing is lit up, internally, using a light the guy got from Camper world. The controlling mechanism is essentially a modded 3rd party Xbox controller from around 2011. I don’t know. The second comment down is right, at least we can detect stuff like these noises from thousands of feet deep and have the resources like ROV’s available to tediously attempt a conventionally impossible mission if this was attempted in the 80’s or 90’s. Seems a lot less like a technology issue in more of a logistics issue. I don’t think it’s a lack of good technology. it’s moving that technology 900 miles or so into the middle of the ocean, and then maneuvering that technology to find these people. But you’re right, leave it to the Ocean to swallow your hopes of using advanced tech that only makes leaps an bounds every other decade. Really does make our tech seem a little more and more crappy. Especially considering that these mfs were navigating Titan with a LOGITECH CONTROLLER! Holy crap! It doesn’t comfort me that the navy uses Xbox controllers as well😂

    • @tresaten476
      @tresaten476 Год назад +4

      Yes you're right. Either the vessel just landed on the bottom.....the weight of the vessel & of 5 people may be holding it down but currents could be making it drift further away. If they lost power, it could have drifted quite far before landing on the ocean bed. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. But if there are survivors, let's hope they are able to keep banging in SOS patterns. Oxygen is low, morale is low, physical energy is low because of the cold and they are most likely suffering from hyperthermia. Did they put a small battery operated heater on board? But even that would have run out by now. Hand held Flashlights could have a bit of heat still but LED ones don't have much.

However, when you think about it, if they were that far down in the depths of the ocean, opening the hatch whether from the inside or outside would mean instantaneous death. So they shouldn’t be opening the hatch, even if they have scuba gear or oxygen tanks. The pressure would instantly crush them.

An implosion is the best thing to have happened because they would of been unaware of it and would not have suffered. Eventually they'll find it, bring ti up and we'll know what happened. It would be horrific if its found too late, but still airtight, as they'd of been in that dreadful situation until death. Did they lose their minds? Record messages? Stay calm until they passed out? We might find out in the coming days or weeks.

They and their vessel will never be seen or heard from again, following what was probably a cataclysmic hull failure which caused them to implode. There will be no rescue, they won't be found bobbing on the water somewhere. Experts theorize that the subs carbon fiber hull suffered micro fractures each time it dove, and the cumulative effect of the previous dives finally caused hull failure this time out.

    They don't know where the banging is coming from because there is currently no ROV on site that can go to those depths. The furthest they can currently go down is 3000m (effectively useless because the Titanic wreck site is 3800m down). A British company (that produced the first full-sized 3D, digital scan of the Titanic last summer and who can recover subs as low down as 5000m) offered to help on Monday but were told by US Coastguard that they were not needed. Now they are having to wait around for the French ship to arrive. 😳

    It took over 70 years to find the giant titanic. How the hell are they supposed to find that little tiny thing in a few days?! Also even if they do find it down there what are they going to do?! It’s not like they can just hop out and open the door. The ocean keeps showing us how vast and dangerous it is, but we just don’t listen.

      Most likely, there was an emergency ballast release mechanism that was intended to bring it to the surface, but there should also be a beacon, or more, that would help searchers to identify where it's floating on the surface. That doesn't appear to have happened, which means that it likely is either on the bottom or imploded. If the tapping is indeed manmade, then they're pretty much damned to a short period of misery before ultimately asphyxiating as recovering the sub in the available time is more or less impossible.

    Obviously, they know a lot more than they are willing to say publicly. Reading between the lines, it appears they believe there's a solid probability the noises are in fact coming from the Titan, based on the massive additional asset deployment compared to what the reported plan was yesterday. I also found his tone super interesting compared to previous pressers-- when asked about recovery, Captain Frederick was VERY quick to (enthusiastically) point out this is currently "100% a search & rescue mission". (Just my opinion/observations). Keeping my fingers crossed. What a freaking nightmare!
    *edit: Curious if anyone with expertise has any insight: They won't elaborate or share any conclusions about the noises (despite acknowledging the best experts in the world have been performing analysis since yesterday). I'm sure there are many reasons they're remaining tight-lipped, but would any part of that have to do with not wanting to give away any military/technology aspects?

      its very clear the analysts are picking up banging sounds. And not just the canadians. Multiple experts with analysing multiple dropped probes, are saying the same thing. banging noises from the crash site. But the currents can deflect the sounds so that they appear to be miles away from where they are. So its difficult to triangulate accurately and quickly. But it is clear, they are alive down there, and they are signaling by banging on the titanium porthole, which wouldnt breach the hull integrity. They are alive. time is running out.
      The difficulty is scanning the ocean floor, in darkness, with only a limited visible range from the lights. And covering enough ground via that method. The more ROVs, the better chance of finding the titan. They have the flyaway deep ocean salvage system, the only machine in the world that has the ability to lift the oceangate titan from that depth. They have succeeded in lifting an f16 and a helicopter from depth that are similar or exceed the titanic wreck. Its a proven system. They need to find the titan. They have only 7 - 10 hours of searching left, that will give a roughly 4 - 7 hour window to get them safely to the surface. Finding them is still possible. And a rescue mission is certainly possible, and exceedingly likely if they the TITAN IS FOUND SOON. ONCE the titan is found, the mission to retrive them will be straightforward. the TITAN NEEDS TO BE FOUND.
