Dota 2 is such another level game that if you haven't played in a year, and suddenly started playing, then you will have no idea what you are playing, you will feel like you are playing totally new game. Valve always make big changes and bring / take new stuff that we have to learn playing Dota 2 constantly. Yesterday's knowledge is already outdated.

Valve takes such good care of their old games! Certainly, they wouldn't just leave a game to rot randomly, even tho other old games still get big updates!

This seems to imply that DotA is locked in perpetual conflict. The two ancients revive themselves, similar to how they revive us. Shifting and melding the landscape around them to try and gain the upper hand on the other.
Yeah, basically as far as I understand, both the dire and the radiant are able to reset time when either of them gets destroyed and try with new variables, atleast confirmed by artifacts twitter. And yes, this means that every game in dota 2 is canon, yeah, even that game where your carry sold his items and fed rapier to the enemy team.
...Y'know, I haven't been excited about this game in so very long. Watching the Ancients die at the same time, the mythical "draw" that was so sought after from the lore in Artifact... Something just hit different. This is *cool.*

Dota 2 is such another level game that if you haven't played in a year, and suddenly started playing, then you will have no idea what you are playing, you will feel like you are playing totally new game. Valve always make big changes and bring / take new stuff that we have to learn playing Dota 2 constantly. Yesterday's knowledge is already outdated.
This is why I stopped playing Dota 2. I only have time for it during winter. Don't want to spend two weeks to relearn the game every year.
