@@aheghaugheggeyahg lady Layton only got interesting on the final mystery. It was the only time the game actually felt somewhat like a Layton game. The rest of it almost seemed like it was poking fun at the franchise's weird twists.
@@cheese584 I've been trying to figure that out, too. It's hard to put Layton music into one category, but that's just because it's a blend of certain styles. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but the tunes that feature the accordion and have unique melodies and rhythms are close to the musette genre, a French music style. (The series' composer said he was inspired to create French-styled music.) Layton music also incorporates some Latin elements and waltz styles, using classical European instruments. And sometimes, Layton tunes even have a little bit of jazz. I just love the blend.
A new Layton game is in the making, and the main character will be, apparently, his daughter. More information and trailer here: www.ign.com/articles/2016/07/27/new-professor-layton-game-lady-layton-revealed
i don't think that's what people are talking about, but, unfortunately the guy who voiced layton died so it's fair that they have to move as sad as it is.
I remember my older sister and I (13 and 6 at the time) playing this game back in 2013. I remember clearly bawling my eyes out the whole way through the end. I loved Emmy when I was 6.
Actually the theme is good pretty relaxing just like the Miracle mask , but I hate how the beggining sound kinda scary for me and that ending tho freaking plot twistt
Although some plot twists, like what was up with Sycamore, were extremely obvious, the others came too out of nowhere and I was disappointed with the payoff despite being surprisingly invested during the finale. A good main theme, though!
I will never have a bigger shock in my life than seeing emmy hold a blade to lukes neck, the character who ive trusted for so many years and never even expected to have a twist
@@davemarin7340 The whole game I thought "Will Desmond turning out to be Descole really be the twist at the end?" but then they hit me with Emmy being a traitor and Descole being Laytons brother I love it so much
I played AL as my first game in series so when I played Last Specter and Miracle Mask, I was surprised by Raimond&Descole pair not being secret at all. Like, anyone will know who Sycamore is. I didn't and I'm thankful
@@Fodimin Honestly though, all the main themes are great. None of them should be forgotten. I do love the violins and Latino vibes in Diabolical Box, Miracle Mask, and Last Specter. Unwound Future's is pure epic energy (DAYUM THOSE STRINGS), Eternal Diva's is beautifully operatic, and Azran Legacy's is like a contemporary wonder. Curious Village didn't really have one, I don't think, but the tune that plays in the title screen still gets stuck in my head.

SPOILERS! I feel like Azran Legacy was mostly ruined for me, as I accidentally read spoilers and found out about the giant floating thing and that Emmy was on Targent's side. The game was still A+ however, just lacked the mystery the first few did imo.
I spoilt it for myself - i watch a play through of it then i kept looking for the game. When i finally got it i kept saying things like: 'Don't trust (that person), they are a spy.' I still loved Descolé in it, he's my favourite Layton character.
anyone else who gets lego batman vibes from the intro or is that just me- -note that I never actually really played lego batman lmao but this was pretty darn great- Though the ending was amazing, I found the story slightly lacking, it was just 5 seperate locations with no real connection to the story for the most part.
The ONLY bad thing about this track is that at 1:57 it sounds like the song is about to get really fricking hype but then it goes nowhere, but apart from that. This is sooooo good.
Maybe because both Deathly Hallows and Azran Legacy are epic finales to wrap up their respective series? But yeah, I've considered the idea of Layton music with Harry Potter stories. It's a beautiful idea. Like, try reading the books while playing a Layton tune that best fits the mood of the scene in the story. It's brilliant.
Am I the only one who thought this game was mediocre compared to previous Layton games? Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but at the same time, it just left me with a "meh" feeling it when I finished it. Only the beginning and ending parts were good in my opinion.
This series deserves so much more credit than it receives. It's such an incredible game and series.
True
Agreed.
To be honest the original trilogy was highly successful. The second didn't catch on quite as well which was a shame.
BlaizeTheDragon i loved both of them!
The Lady Layton game isnt really that...great as well though
@@aheghaugheggeyahg lady Layton only got interesting on the final mystery. It was the only time the game actually felt somewhat like a Layton game. The rest of it almost seemed like it was poking fun at the franchise's weird twists.
Woah. This was back in 2013... Time passes rather quickly, doesn't it?
Yes...
quite
It does
Indeed it does..
Omg I feel so old...
i enjoy how this song almost sounds like how the game's story really went.
I love love LOVE the Puzzles leitmotif at the end. A beautiful way to bring in Curious Village.
Holy cow why didnt i noticed that
i want to cry i don't want it to be over ;___;
Yeah I just want another layton game but themed after the movie and either reuses it's soundtrack or makes it's own out of it instead.
Lady layton 2017 :D
+Maximiliano Masulli I'd prefer a sequel to Unwound Future but I'm still pretty excited for Lady Layton! :)
Dvir Arazi same
Maybe a option to set your music/difficulty will be added. A arcade or linkable pc version of the game would be nice too.
Im simply in love with those violins.
Damn this game is now 6 years old...
Thanks for everything Professor you made my childhood!
I am totally obsessed with this type of music~
Love the harmony
Plus the duets of the instruments!!!
Yes! But I don't know the name of this genre :(

Bring back LAYTON!!! Even if he is not the main. PLEASEEEEE!!!
Yeah make another layton game but just either put more puzzles or set up some convention to get the story unwinding in it first please.

This game's plot is very stupid
I actually guessed the Emmy twist, but I feel like the Brothers twist actually came out of nowhere, but both still hurt me emotionally
ah Azran legacy. the layton game I have most mixed opinions about, yet somehow, has the best main theme of them all.
nah, Mircale Mask has the best main theme imo
Idk, unwound future’s intro is a banger
I trust we aren't sleeping on Diabolical Box here

How can you dislike such a beautiful theme?
Surely Bronev from the jail cell disliked
SO GOOD KEEP PROFESSOR LAYTON PLEASE,SO WE CAN HEAR NEW AND GOOD MUSIC THIS BRING GOOD TIMES BACK ABOUT THIS PROFESSOR
Not the greatest game but oh my god what an epic theme to finish off this wonderful trilogy.
I agree wholeheartedly
The best of all themes- second is the theme from the first game in my opinion
Thanks for posting all these soundtracks! PL themes are really something else
Miracle Mask is my favorite of all the games, but Azran Legacy has my favorite soundtrack.

I really hope they release some of these games on the switch!
I have a good news for ya. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has been teased for the Switch! :D
What kind of music is this particularly mostly because I love layton music
Last night I dreamt I was back in 6th grade, except I was in band instead of choir, and the band teacher had us learn this.
10 long years since this game... I can't believe it.
This is one of the games I didn't play so I didn't listen to its soundtrack til now but I should've this is so nice :(
WE MAKIN IT OUTTA THE AZRAN SANCTUARY WITH THIS ONE
Thanks ^^ i love this song~
Please tell me there are still people from 2021 who know about this game.

The beginning really sounds like Rachmaninoff... reminds me of the second movement of his 3rd concerto
The beginning feels very FFVII-esque....
Yes, it’s Anxious Heart from FF7. The first measures only seem to change tonality.
I don't even finish this game .
Wait there's another game? Why didn't I know??
Check Wikipedia, friend. Maybe you'll find something more...
You're in for a treat!!
my name is Azra lol
Why does the opening remind me of the Deathly Hallows XD

Can't find violin sheet music... can someone please help? ;-;
Doesnt anyone else think this game gives off Castle In The Sky vibes?
Is Katrielle any good? I heard there's no character development compared to the others.
It's a good game but nothing more to say, probably the weakest game in the series
Am I the only one who thought this game was mediocre compared to previous Layton games? Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but at the same time, it just left me with a "meh" feeling it when I finished it. Only the beginning and ending parts were good in my opinion.
I get what you mean. Especially coming off the heels of Miracle Mask, my favorite of the series.
Yeah, the traveling around the world sections were too quick too get attached to.
I hated the plot twists in the game.
