- I came across the New Yorker cartoons Instagram page recently ( / newyorkercartoons ) and became fascinated by the commenters. Today I share my affliction with you. Together we shall judge both the tragic entries to the caption contests, and the comments people leave on the cartoons generally. Good stuff.
The cartoon I used for the thumbnail is by Erika Sjule ( / errrkaderka . I like it :-)

I see these sometimes on my explore page and I rarely think the comics or comments are good, but the comics are actually usually not that boomery. Though maybe ppl like ben garrison have just ruined my perspective idk
I'd say New Yorker cartoons are pretty hit and miss, they have so many artists they can really get a huge range
this truly makes me believe we comment in a society
I leave comments, but sometimes people reply to me, and sometimes I really regret giving them that opportunity.

I think "I'm tired, I've seen enough" is one of the greatest ways to close a video. If more creators were like you, this site would be a better place.

One small thing though, I think you could maybe use a pop filter? There was a fair bit of mouth noise, but it's not something to worry about, everyone speaking into a mic gets it. I'll keep watching and supporting you either way. But if you wanted to use one they're dead easy to make; old pair of tights and a ring of some kind, put it in front of the mic and you're sorted. You can buy one, but if you've got anything lying about, it's way better to just whip something up. I love your stuff!

These cartoons always have the subtext that things are easier for men, women are more burdened, and being male is privilege. That's what people react to, not just that "gendered things happen". You can a random shouts and murmurs section now with just basic derision of men which would never make it to print if a man where writing it about women. If you think everything is better for men and it's just a casual joke to print that 50 times a week, I can see why you would think this way though.
Bruh if you think a woman drawing a comic about carrying a big bag full of useful things while her bf just has phone and keys, a thing which doesn't deride him or make any negative comment towards him at all, is some kind of deep misandrist moment that would "never happen" if the genders were switched then I don't know what to tell you. You are a huge, pathetic loser feeling persecuted over nothing. Go outside.
