garlic 2 cloves, crushed
fennel seeds ½ tsp, crushed
tinned cherry tomatoes 400g tin
butter beans 400g tin, rinsed and drained
cod 2 chunky skinless loins
breadcrumbs 35g I used Pork rind Panko instead
rosemary chopped to make 1 tsp
I also add a bit of Basil for the win
parmesan 25g, finely grated
Method
STEP 1Heat 1 tbsp of the olive oil in an ovenproof frying pan. Cook the onion and garlic for 8 minutes until softened. Stir in the fennel seeds and cook for 1 minute. Add the cherry tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in the butter beans and season.
STEP 2Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Sit the cod in the saucy beans. Mix together the breadcrumbs, rosemary and parmesan in a small bowl and season, then add the remaining olive oil and toss well. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the fish and bake for 15 minutes until golden and the fish is cooked through.

Retired AK fishing guide here. Love your videos. Ben watching them all month as i go through chemo here in Seattle. Back in the day, NW guides who came up to Ak in the summer turned us on to spraying our king(chinook) plugs with wd40 and it worked beautifully. The company used a whale/tuna or some other saltwater fishoil in their ingredients. A few years back the company was sold and the ingredients were changed unfortunately removing the natural fish oil. Spraying plugs no longer worked. This however created a fury to locate the original manufacturers wd40 cans. Good luck finding one these days under 100 dollars. Keep the vids coming. Thanks again. Please bring back ol Ovens to do some cameos on your show.
Never change Fowler, the world need more genuine people like yourself!
The music while you were cooking reminded me of when I would go to family reunions on my mom's side
You can reuse old jigs simply by re-melting them in the microwave. Used to make them with my uncle.
54 years old and I still laugh at belches. Thank you Chris. :)
Shouldn’t watch these when I’m hungry. Holy cow that looks amazing
This was a fantastic video brother, I always love the honest tackle reviews. Also thank you Chris, I knew nothing about making your own soft plastics until today. Keep up the great content! I live around the same area so I'm sure I'll run into you guys at some point.
Thanks for the content Zach! My 6 year old used to be obsessed with Ryan's toy review, and just watching him open up mystery toys.... with you and your mystery tackle box it's helping to bridge the gap and get him more interested in the outdoors!
oh it's amazing!
Just ordered the Firefly Bling Grind! Imma get the Fowler next! Happy Father's day to Spidey!
Happy Father's day to you too, Zack. Thanks for all the help you've given me. God Bless.
Man of many talents. I prepare myself now because I know watching Fowler’s cooking videos or anything to do with food always leaves me salivating from hunger. Thank you for leaving the recipe in the description btw. I was actually going to ask for it but you’re on top of it, lol. Glad you two had fun and everything looks delish.
Nice bass brother! Loved the video! Your love for life is contagious!👊
Just got my Zach Fowler grim workshop card and I'm loving it!!
Best catch and cooks on RUclips
Thanks, I had a total PTSD flashback to my 1960's Mattel Thingmaker days.
Glad that I found this channel! It’s a fresh breathe amidst this chaos. Y’all are hilarious and my kind of people.
Little trick that we use when you fillet fish your fish right before you cut it off at the tail just flip the fillet on to the skin side and cut off the meat. That way all skin stays attached to the fish throw aways.
For aioli. Try cooking a ton of whole garlic in olive oil on the lowest setting on your stove. Till it turns slightly golden. Cool the oil and use 50/50 garlic oil and a neutral oil. 2 egg yolks should be enough and add a tablespoon of ice water when you start to add the oil. Add oil till its thick. Cheers!
Doing your own soft plastics and having them work, takes practice. My grandfather used to fish Tennessee reservoirs and make his own baits. He always said each lake had its own quirk about hand mades.
Some lakes, you have to let the baits soak in whatever for a few weeks. Others, only one color would ever work and without flecks.
Making your own baits takes a LOT OF NOTES, especially if you've decided to stick with it.
(BTW try garlic and salt *in the mix* of the pour if you decide to go after striped bass with your own baits.)
When I was making soft plastic baits I found that the grape flavor added to the plastic before pouring worked best for me I added oil to my baits when bagged up. I also added a hardener to the plastic to make it hold up longer.
It's mineral oil in the WD 40... So just use mineral oil...looks like you guys had a blast..thanks for the post..and can't wait for Chris's channel to get going...
I had an old timer tell me that he would use wd40 to catch walleye in lake Erie
Hey it was cool to see you in union yesterday at that store.
first off I love the length of this video thank u zack 👍🏼!. u did alot of cooking in this 1 i thoroughly loved the time u took .
Cool video Zach! I think its time for another wilderness challenge though? Team up with Woodbeard and his buddy Jeremy and your friend Greg and of course Bob. Get the whole gang together. Go out in the middle of nowhere. Live off the land. Bring your air rifle. Lot's of forever stew. LOL Miss those challenges.
Finally... something good to watch tonight... Fowler...here we go 👍🙏✝️♥️🎣🏹🛶🇵🇷🇺🇸
My friends and I say "Timber Trout" when we hook a stick 😅
To think you'd find one of your best friends in a job posting. Chris is one of the highlights on this channel
Thank you Zach for the videos, my life isn't at is best right now and those help me to relaxe and forget all about it. Thank you really !
Hope your life gets better that's why I watch them to just to relax
You have a good bunch of men to work with. God bless y'all
Need a pool table too!
Once try out the sour cream garlic with fish. It's a hungarian/romanian sauce, basically it's sour cream, garlic, salt, olive oil, if you fancy, you can add apple cider vinegar, basil, green onion or dill. We usually eat with trout, grilled pork or beef.
My dude started cackling like ice king when he got his PB.
I dont like tartar sauce but love a squeeze of lemon on my fried fish. For my chips mayo and mustard with some pepper makes my mouth happy. Was glad to see you do the beans with garlic, onions and tomatoes. Should be real healthy and very Mediterranean with the fish.
The cooking was phenomenal!! You had me hooked and dancing a jig to that music!! Great video!
Put the chive flowers into plain vinegar and let it sit for a few months. It will result in a pink colored garlicky tasting vinegar. Great for summer salads.
Zac an Chris are beautiful people, very humble and I enjoy all the content they both put out
Love your sense of humor,
I've been making baits for a while it's nice to catch on your own tackle especially if there is a constant need for certain things...make sure your not ingesting fumes, be careful and over ventilate your shop
Fishing, Slingshots, Outdoors, what’s not to love about this channel 👍🏻😀
every video is the best can't stop watching this Chanel
thanks 😊
Chris' hook sets is why I watch these fishing vids
... Nice ,, Looked like a great day on the water ,,, and What a chow haul !! Very Impressed Chef Zach .....
The lost fish. Appears to be due to reel drag management. Adjust and check the drag every cast!
Bruh. He's knows that. This is an infomercial for Mystery Tackle Box.
Love these guys. What a dream to live and learn under Zachs guidance.
So sweet to see them all eating and enjoying the meal!
When I was making soft plastic baits I found the grape flavor received far more bites than any other flavor I used, I also added oil to the baits once bagged up and when mixing my plastic during heating I added a plastic hardener to make the baits last a little longer than store bought baits
WD-40 does work because it’s a fish oil base. Works well on catfish too. Also, when the worms and stuff get worn out to where you can’t use them, just melt them and make new worms. That’s the cool part about these, they’re reusable.
Bobby garland cajun cricket color 2" plastic swimr is phenomenal. Use w/1/16 oz jighead and slip bobber,. For crazy action. Deer like wd40 also. Serious.
Love the Zach and Chris show. You boys should do more survival shows together. Great team.
Y'all crack me up,so. Excited about everything you do.Very refreshing thanks
if you use a hotplate and heat your mold it won't cool to fast when your injecting
That Bass n beans looks amazing! Hoping for a survival challenge!
15:45 The Joker catches his PB. Lol, that laugh.
My all time favorite channel. Thanks for creating awesome and enjoyable content!
Aioli is a just raw garlic mashed with salt and olive oil in a mortar and pestle. More modern recipes include lemon and egg yolk. Either way great with fish!
I've love this show I pretty much watch these guys every day
When I was younger, my grandfather would take us out fishing using beef signu, you know the tough layer between the hide and flesh, anyways once our Bait had been out a few times without a catch we used to replace it with new bait and place the old bait in cod liver oil, then after we either caught a fish or had to rebait. We would load up on soaked cod liver oil bait and I tell you now that we caught more fish on recycled cod liver oil bait than fresh beef bait for catching walleye in saskatchewan Canada. We ended up soaking all off our bait in cod liver oil because apparently the oils travel farther in the water than beef, as far as I could ever understand. Even now I take a bottle of cod liver oil with me when I go fishing, it has proven very reliable in catching fish.... I wonder what the result would be to add the oil to lures as a manufactured scent to the lure.... hmmm hope Zach reads this message and tries it out. I would be very interested to see if it makes a difference!
Truly great job, Zach - very fun and engaging from beginning to end! You, Chris and your video/editing team are smashing it big-time, brother! 🎬🎥🥇 AGB from a fellow native Green Mountain Boy😉.
I was having a bad day but now I am happy :)
ZACK,KNOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Go get them. GOD BLESS. 😎
Great video. That fish and bean souffle thing looked amazing!
Save your old broken plastics and melt them togeather for different color combos. Just bought a lure kit to make my own and it works well. Great content keep them coming.
Who sells a lure making kit? Thanks
Happy Father’s Day Zach !!!!!
Those molds are awesome I need some paddle tails go with a silver white and small metal flake it would destroy the fish here just about anything white will catch fish here that or black rooster tails lures
I don't know Zack I think it would've been a close match if you didn't lose those fish lol. Have a goodnight and a Happy Fathers day tomorrow Jimmy from Massachusetts
That was a great video. The dinner that you cooked though looked absolutely phenomenal. And I think without trying it fish and chips is good and I bet that black truffle oil with the mayonnaise for the fries was absolutely delectable, and I also have to say that fish casserole really did look way better than just the regular fish and chips so I would love to try that fish casserole sometime I bet it was amazing. Thanks for everything you do. I know this is an old video but this was awesome and God bless you and your family. And we can't wait to see more from you.
Respect for letting that mature bass go👍🏻
The Mayo sound affects are Brilliant 😂
Just got my Wazoo Necklace today for fathers day 👍. Love your channel keep up the awsome content
Underwater spearfishing. Or fish under water with a jig pole for the 360 degree fight
The excitement you showed when you caught your PB was so awesome. That's exactly how I act when I catch a big fish.
Mystery tackle box should come out with a diy kit!!!!
Aioli is a mayonaise type condiment sort of infused with garlic, originated in France, but it was garlic emulsified with oil, no eggs or acid (lemon), more like a thick garlic sauce that resembles mayo.
Zach love the vidoes keep em coming from Rockland maine
When the bass isn't hitting the soft baits. I will take and add some fish oil from vitamins on the soft baits. And it does help increase the strike and catch ratio.
Looks like catching fish is not a problem ,but gettin em to boat was the challenge! . Enjoy the content as always!
Happy Father’s Day Zach! 🤙🏻
Beautiful filets. You have impressive knife skills and cooking technique!
thank you
Hi Zac & Chris, in the UK we have used WD-40 & still caught fish 🐟 on the bait but this is in salt water 💦, but I would definitely give the old WD-40 a go what have you got too loose, still loving what you and Chris are doing with the channel. Chris needs some more videos to watch on his RUclips site.good fishing 🎣🎣 and tight lines. From James in the UK.
Another awesome episode. The garlic juice works awesome.
Happy Father's Day sir Zach
thank you
A touch on onion and garlic pickled. Try that in tarter sauce along with pickles of course.. except pickle onions and garlic in sweet picleing juice..
I laughed so hard when you put those flowers in the mayo
The part when you guys were trying to blow the snot rocket, Zach’s laugh made me chuckle! You could tell it was super genuine. I repeat ❤️❤️❤️from New Hampshire
That part was hilarious.
Another great entertaining video!!!
Epic meal prep!
How can we support Chris on his new business !!!make a mystery fishing box!
Wd-40 stands for water displacement 40th attempt. And is Mostly Fish oil and is technically edible. Just an FYI.
put hole mold in ice before you take them out the mold let sit for 45 sec to 1 min for best results come our better
i feel like all fishermen and women all say "I would eat it" 22:16
and this goes for people who hunt to, not just people who fish
thx fowler for hearting my comment it just made my week
Table tennis was called wif waf at first also great video you guys are killing it the channel is getting better and better it would be good to make a mold out of wood to make the lures
This man is the 🐐
First I was sad to see no CNR, but then I seen how you prepped the meal for the fish and, I cant be mad at that.
Mans really did the fish right.
U got a awesome crew working for u. Love your videos keep em coming
Have you ever worked as a cook in a restaurant? As a chef I have to say your cooking and knife skills are seriously on point, I'd hire you as a line cook
"Keep your tip up." I watched you lose those fish and woke my wife up shouting that at my phone.
lol
great video! You need to have your drag harder when you hook the fish.
The main ingrediant in WD40 is fish oil. We fish boneless skinless chicken breast, and spray it with WD40, and we slay fish in salt water.
