    David, this is Lyndon Unger (I was many years younger than you when you were living in Prince George but remember you from the PG music festival). You don't remember me but we both took piano lessons from the same teacher (for a short while: I had several).
    Random connection that I found your RUclips page and your rendition of Scarlatti is FABULOUS.

    I didn't realize repetition was used to that extent. Was it meant to sound novel at the time?

      It’s a regular compositional device, especially in Italian music. Scarlatti’s use of it can sound novel, and unpredictable.
