    This is really awesome! I am a fretless 6 string electric bass player - my bass has a carbon fiber neck and is unbelievably versatile. This looks even more versatile (for practice and smaller areas in particular). I've been looking at buying a classical guitar, but this would also be a good guitar for my purposes.
    I hope they will have an actual classical guitar string spacing and neck width in the future - on of the reasons I gave up guitar and took up bass as a teenager was my inability to fit my left hand fingers to the guitar's string spacing (I also had difficulty finger picking with my right hand for the same reason)

    I am a classically trained violinist and accompanied myself as a singer (also classically trained) on a classical guitar for thirty-five years. I now play both instruments with effects and love the wide ranging textures I can achieve. I really like this instrument, and though I require an acoustic axe for strolling, I'd have a great time gigging with the ENYE. Thanks for showing it off!

    Fun Fact. As a student Mathias Damann (Luthuer of Baruecco and Russel) explained me the importance of a regular structure of the wood. I asked, why not to use synthetic material. He explained me, that would never happen. Many years later he developed sandwich-clasical guitars with Gernot Wagner using synthetic material.

    I’d love to have one of these guitars. My wooden guitars are very loud, I have family and pets, so when I practice they are forced to listen to the monotony of repetitions. This would be a nice guitar to use. I have acquired many styles in my 60 years of playing, and this lovely sounding guitar, demonstrated by the hands of Beatrix, a budding master, exhibits a versatility that would work well for me. Thanks, Beatrix, for the heads up!

I play, swing, country, blues, funk, bluegrass, rock, finger style, but due to the thinnest nails on Earth, I don’t play much classical. I used to play classical, it’s how I started.

    I think this device would have many good uses. There are definitely venues I wouldn’t want to probably bring my nice instrument into and because of the environment this sound would be at least as good for them and more controllable. (Say outdoor wedding for instance). It would be safer to travel with and practice on. Many reasons to have it in addition to your regular classical.

    I'd like to see a nylon string version. I think the idea is nice, and we should explore other resources, especially if they are better, more resilient, westhervproof, etc. I hate the way it looks though. It's rather ugly. I much prefer the shape of a traditional looking guitar over the weird angular box and shape. Journeyman makes a nice carbon fiber nylon that is a much better looking instrument. I haven't tried it, but it looks great, and I like the ability to put it in a plane as a carry on.

I went to a nail salon (nail studio) and the girls where somehow surprised - I am a 57 Year old man with a grey beard and my everyday appearance is the opposite of "stylish". They glued some very thin plastic nail on the edge of thy remaining nail as a support for the extending artificial nail. They did the nail with clear acrylic. That works really well and you can form the nail to your needs. But Acrylic turns a little yellow after some time. Now I use gel, which ist common in Nail Studios

Still electronic sound has always a longer pick which covers the mistakes that you maybe cannot show in a normal guitar . I really like hearing a proper classical guitarist talk about non-acoustic guitars. Classical guitarists seem to be purely acoustic players. Have you ever had any good experiences playing classical on electric or elec/acou nylon string guitars (i.e, Godin Multiac)?

    • @beatrixguitar
      @beatrixguitar  Год назад +8

      well personally I believe that there's a good reason why classical music is played on classical instruments. Electric instruments offer a lot but classical instruments are abel to project more subtle details, wider dynamic and colour range. On the other hand, it's unfair to compare a 600$ guitar to a 5K$ luthier made classical guitar I have, so I'll just say they are so different, they offer completely different benefits and they both are remarkable in their category :)

  • @blahdiblah2169

    I as a classical player would have a use case for that guitar and I think it would be outstanding for improvisation. Seems like a perfect guitar for that purpose, you're getting built in quality effects and a digital element without having to buy extra equipment. And then the steel strings might provide additional expression and have more bended sustain (not sure what you call that / something classical guitarists don't really do).

    Judging from the comments section the "snob" mentality of classical musicians is alive and well, the 1700's are long gone, get over it, there will always be new ideas and products.

      I knew peopel will be sceptical about this, that's why I tried to highlight in the video that it's NOT a classical guitar, but you CAN play classical pieces on it. Of course not the most advanced ones, but a 600$ worth classical guitar is also not suitable for the most challenging classical repertoire, so I don't see any problem here :D

    For the serious classical guitarist, this silent guitar's form and sound performance are way beyond. With regard to the fretboard alone, the traditional classical guitar at the nut (width) is 52 mm so the finger placements are in themselves quite different. Too much adaptation required. 2ndly, from the sound of it, it doesn't sound anything like a real or natural classical guitar. The closest so far, in terms of silent guitars that come close to the form and sound of a real classical guitar, is the YAMAHA SLG200NW.
    Of course my comments here have nothing to do with people who like playing the electric, folk or acoustic guitar and are looking for fun variations that cost less than the LAVA Me3.

    I think the guitar is kinda cool but, I can make the same exact sound with my electric guitar with effects settings. So did it become pointless to make a electric acoustic with effects that essentially makes it an electric guitar?

    • @beatrixguitar

      I think this is a good alternative for acoustic players who don't want to invest in gadgets. Personally, I always found hard to play outdoors, I know nothing about amplification, but with this guitar I surely will play outside and the sound won't get lost in the air.

    Interesting bit of kit. I found when you were playing the Romance that it didn't help you bring the melody out as I would've expected from a classical guitar. You were definitely technically on point with it, especially coping with the narrower neck and fret spacing, but some of the melody notes merged/blurred with the accompanying open B and G strings- especially at the return to 7th fret b on the E string during the initial minor section. I'm not sure if it's the strings or the bluetooth speaker. It sounded less noticeable on the strummed/acoustic type stuff. Perhaps the higher tension, the different string material and the artificial amplification all contributed. I wonder if you've ever played (or would be interested in trying) the yamaha silent classical guitar? I always find non classical guitars to be a bit difficult to get the right treble balance on and given this is a classical "mod" of a non classical guitar it might suffer similarly. Anyway, enough geekery! A good video about an interesting product. Thanks.

    • @beatrixguitar
      @beatrixguitar  Год назад

      Yeah, I didn’t have a cable to connect it to my PC so the sound sample you hear is not 100% accurate I guess. Check out other players using this guitar, maybe you’ll see this balance issue solved elsewhere! On the other hand, I tried to keep the playing part really honest, so I didn’t overthink it. Maybe the reason why I was struggling a bit is the posture. Since this video I changed the angle and I use it like I use my classical guitar, much more comfortable!
