    Stunt ensemble: Top Gun: Maverick
    Actor: Austin Butler
Actress: Cate Blanchett (I hope Yeoh will surprise)
    Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan
Supporting Actress: Angela Bassett (although I think Kerry Condon will pull a Mark Rylance and pull a surprise Oscar win considering Angela Bassett isn't in a BP nominee yet Kerry Condon is in a BP nominee)
Ensemble: Everything Everywhere All at Once

I saw nothing very spectacular about Colin Ferrell’s performance. It’s between Fraser and Butler. Austin won BAFTA. Fraser is good, but, frankly, any good actor can put on a fat suit and reach a place of despair. What Austin achieved was a huge stretch, which he accomplished brilliantly. I predict Butler for the Oscar.

Michelle Yeoh- Everything Everywhere All At Once

Viola Davis- The Woman King as General Nanisca
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role:

Like I said, they all don’t need an Award to prove that they’re good, because all of them are so good together. The Awards needs them. Awards are overrated.

I'm rooting for Brandon Fraser in that race.
While I'm not a fan of his, I do think Austin Butler has also "paid his dues". He had a guest spot in damn near every kids show you can think of starting in the early 2000s to early 2010s and a whole bunch of B-tier teen shows and movies. He may be new to the A list, but he's been hustling nearly as long as the other two.

Agreed. I love Basset and think she should have won the Oscar for playing Tina Turner. But in Wakanda? If she wins it will be all about narrative, that Basset finally has her Oscar, and that she made history doing it in a Marvel movie. Seriously watch Hong Chau in The Whale and see the best supporting performance of the year.

I disagree with that completely. Bassett for me is the strongest in there. Her performance is the only one of the 5 that gave me goosebumps during the film and after. Most of the talk after the film was surrounding Bassett. The other nominees were great but nothing stood in their performances to me. Especially Jamie Lee Curtis, I'm actually shocked she got the nomination. But art is completely subjective so I can understand that.

You missed the point….. Jackieblue was saying that it’s “Condon” with emphasis on the first syllable like London. The way you’re saying it is like “Kerry Condom” with emphasis on the second syllable. It sounds really wrong! Who wants to be called a condom?
And you’re not alone with Brendon Fraser….. I’m not sure why Americans seem to default to Frasier…..

    • @jackieblue1267
      @jackieblue1267 Год назад

@@LukeHearfield Yes Garry D explains it better. Condon is pronounced similar to London. London is pronounced luhn-dn. Kerry's surname is pronounced Con-dn not Con-don i.e long o like Condom. @@garryd7748 On another note. Both condom and London have the stress on the first syllable. But I get what you’re trying to tell him. Good examples of when the emphasis is on the second syllable:
      canTEEN
      inVENT
      reVEAL

There is something stunningly wonderful with Michelle Yeoh’s performance in this film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” that has live in my memory as fresh as the day this brilliant film has been shown on theatre. How she exquisitely observed these different characters with such grace and precision. I’m at a loss of words to accurately describe her distinctive style of cinematic achievement. It might be just me, but I’m quite skeptical of Cate Blanchett’s movie “TAR”. I thought it was a heady mixture of boredom and mediocrity. My instincts had me avoiding it. However, I thought Cate Blanchett was so convincing as a renowned conductor/musician Lydia Tar. But since Cate already have received many recognitions (Oscars) in the past, I have got to hand the best lead actress to Michelle Yeoh’s one of a kind performance. My observation of her character in the movie seems exceptionally tour de force!…I know how presumptuous of me to say but my personal opinion has no place in this and it would not convince some voters to consider and acknowledge her work as the best performance this year. But I’m hoping for the best outcome that she would receive her very first SAG and Academy awards trophies.
