Austin Butler for the win!!
Stunt ensemble: Top Gun: Maverick
Actor: Austin Butler
Actress: Cate Blanchett (I hope Yeoh will surprise)
Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan
Supporting Actress: Angela Bassett (although I think Kerry Condon will pull a Mark Rylance and pull a surprise Oscar win considering Angela Bassett isn't in a BP nominee yet Kerry Condon is in a BP nominee)
Ensemble: Everything Everywhere All at Once
If Angela Bassett wins SAG, she will have enough to win the Oscar. Kerry Condon doesn't have the name recognition to pull an Anthony Hopkins or Frances McDormand.
Michelle Yeoh has the narrative. Cate Blanchett the performance. Look what happened with Chadwick Boseman vs Anthony Hopkins at the Oscars.
😬
Apples and Oranges
Ensemble: EEAAO
Actress: Michelle Yeoh
Actor: Austin Butler
Supporting Actress: Angela Bassett
Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan
I saw nothing very spectacular about Colin Ferrell’s performance. It’s between Fraser and Butler. Austin won BAFTA. Fraser is good, but, frankly, any good actor can put on a fat suit and reach a place of despair. What Austin achieved was a huge stretch, which he accomplished brilliantly. I predict Butler for the Oscar.
Here are the lists of nominees that I hope they’d win the SAG Awards 2023:
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role:
Austin Butler- Elvis as Elvis Presley
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role:
Michelle Yeoh- Everything Everywhere All At Once
or
Viola Davis- The Woman King as General Nanisca
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role:
Paul Dano- The Fabelmans as Burt Fabelman
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role:
Angela Bassett - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Queen Ramonda
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture:
Everything Everywhere All at Once
or
The Fabelmans
Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture:
Avatar: The Way of Water
The Batman
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
or
Top Gun: Maverick
It really don’t matter which one, because they’re all so good. I guess either Top Gun: Maverick or Avatar: The Way of Water.
TELEVISION 📺:
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series:
Evan Peters - Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (Netflix) as Jeffrey Dahmer
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series:
Amanda Seyfried - The Dropout (Hulu) as Elizabeth Holmes
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series:
Jason Bateman- Ozark (Netflix) as Martin “Marty” Byrde
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series:
Zendaya- Euphoria (HBO) as Rue Bennett
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series:
Bill Hader - Barry (HBO) as Barry Berkman / Barry Block
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series:
Jenna Ortega- Wednesday (Netflix) as Wednesday Addams
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series:
Ozark (Netflix)
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series:
Abbott Elementary (ABC)
Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series:
Stranger Things (Netflix)
Like I said, they all don’t need an Award to prove that they’re good, because all of them are so good together. The Awards needs them. Awards are overrated.
I'm rooting for Brandon Fraser in that race.
While I'm not a fan of his, I do think Austin Butler has also "paid his dues". He had a guest spot in damn near every kids show you can think of starting in the early 2000s to early 2010s and a whole bunch of B-tier teen shows and movies. He may be new to the A list, but he's been hustling nearly as long as the other two.
gotta remeber black panther and parasite won best ensemble with out ANY nominations in the acting categories.
Best ensemble the fablemans
Best actrees Cate blanchette
Best supporting actrees Angela Bassett
Supporting actor Brendan geelson
Best actor Brendan Fraser
Oh wow. Interesting picks. And who do you have for best actor?
You're just repeating urself...my gawd🙄🙄🙄
I agree 100% with what you said about Michelle Yeoh and Cate Blanchett's future Oscar prospects - which is aplenty. So i really really want Michelle to win. My dark horse is Danielle Deadwyler because of all the oscar fiasco that she was unfortunately subjected to without her knowledge or consent.
Yeah I actually wouldn’t be upset if Deadwyler pulled off a surprise win here. It would be like justice for that crazy Oscar snub. X
Best actor: Austin butler
Best actress:Cate blanchett
Supp actor:Brendan gleeson
Supp actress:Angela bassett
BAFTA didn’t seem to like Everything….
Same with Top Gun.
Bafta usually prefers traditional storytelling instead of avant garde
*what are some of your predictions for the 2023 SAG Awards?*
Definitely rooting for Angela Bassett, she was the strongest supporting actress out of the five. I think Cate, Ke Huy Quan, Fraser, will take the other acting categories. For stunts I think its between Top Gun and Wakanda Forever.
It's Sunday, not Monday right? Or depends on time zone?
Yes it is Sunday. In North America - the ceremony will be live streamed on Britbox at 2pm EST.
All this calculation makes me head spin !
I’m sorry…a gummi bear necklace?!?! I NEED IT! Where did you buy it?
Hahahaha I got several of them in different colours from a shop on Etsy. The designer called shinythingsnmore 😁❤️
Women talking did get the Robert Altman award at the film independent spirit awards
Please, in you final Oscar predictions video, call her Kerry Condin, because that is how you say her last name.
I honestly think Basset is the weakest of the five nominees in her category. I love her, but this is not an Oscar winning performance. I would much rather see Chau or Hsu win the award.
Agreed. I love Basset and think she should have won the Oscar for playing Tina Turner. But in Wakanda? If she wins it will be all about narrative, that Basset finally has her Oscar, and that she made history doing it in a Marvel movie. Seriously watch Hong Chau in The Whale and see the best supporting performance of the year.
@@VikingMatt879 I agree. I think Basset should have won for What's Love Got to Do With It too!
I disagree with that completely. Bassett for me is the strongest in there. Her performance is the only one of the 5 that gave me goosebumps during the film and after. Most of the talk after the film was surrounding Bassett. The other nominees were great but nothing stood in their performances to me. Especially Jamie Lee Curtis, I'm actually shocked she got the nomination. But art is completely subjective so I can understand that.
@@phoenixforce6595 thank you like she is the only on doing swimming stunts.
I hate when people preface these opposing opinions with “I love her…buttttt.” If her performance isn’t your preference just say it. It’s crazy when people are like “it’s isn’t an Oscar winning performance…” Like, what is?? There’s no real barometer-It’s all subjective, so thankfully enough people feel differently.
Michelle Yeoh! Michelle Yeoh and Michelle Yeoh for Best Actress!
At BAFTA:
Actors: Collin Farrell, Cate Blanchette, Kerry Condon, Key Huy Quan
At SAG: Fraser, Yeoh, Bassett, Quan, EEAAO (ensemble)
At the Oscars...
Kerry Condon's surname is pronounced more like Condin similar to how you would pronounce London.
Hahaha I’ve lived in London for nearly a decade and I’ve never heard anyone ever pronounce it as “Londin” 😆
But I shall see if I can find some footage of Condon saying her last name to see how she pronounces it. Apparently I was saying Brendan Fraser wrong for years until his comeback and someone told me it was Fraser like Razor 🪒 hehehe d
You missed the point….. Jackieblue was saying that it’s “Condon” with emphasis on the first syllable like London. The way you’re saying it is like “Kerry Condom” with emphasis on the second syllable. It sounds really wrong! Who wants to be called a condom?
And you’re not alone with Brendon Fraser….. I’m not sure why Americans seem to default to Frasier…..
@@LukeHearfield Yes Garry D explains it better. Condon is pronounced similar to London. London is pronounced luhn-dn. Kerry's surname is pronounced Con-dn not Con-don i.e long o like Condom. Listen to how others pronounce it. Sorry not meant to be offensive. I've also heard many people butchering Padraig and also Barry Keoghan's name.
@@garryd7748 It’s probably the tv show? Because that’s where I learned that pronunciation myself. But I’m not American. I’m Guatemalan.
@@garryd7748 On another note. Both condom and London have the stress on the first syllable. But I get what you’re trying to tell him. Good examples of when the emphasis is on the second syllable:
canTEEN
inVENT
reVEAL
Now try to say condom and London like the prior words. It sounds wrong (and quite funny actually lol). Hope this helped.
Eddie Redmayne won SAG and BAFTA before winning the Oscar.
Oh my days, you’re right, I do t know how I mucked that up. My mistake. Thank you for pointing that out. X
I think I must’ve got critics choice and sag muddled up for that year. X
@Luke Hearfield Also Rami won Globe, BAFTA, SAG, and Oscar but didn't win Critcs Choice.
I hope wins
Best actor: Brendan Fraser The Whale or Colin Farrell The Banshees of Inisherin
Best actriss: Cate Blanchett Tar
Best supporting actor: Jonathan Ke Quan E.E.A.A.O
Best supporting actris: Kerry Condon The Banshees Of Inisherin
Best esemble: E.E.A.A.O
There is something stunningly wonderful with Michelle Yeoh’s performance in this film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” that has live in my memory as fresh as the day this brilliant film has been shown on theatre. How she exquisitely observed these different characters with such grace and precision. I’m at a loss of words to accurately describe her distinctive style of cinematic achievement. It might be just me, but I’m quite skeptical of Cate Blanchett’s movie “TAR”. I thought it was a heady mixture of boredom and mediocrity. My instincts had me avoiding it. However, I thought Cate Blanchett was so convincing as a renowned conductor/musician Lydia Tar. But since Cate already have received many recognitions (Oscars) in the past, I have got to hand the best lead actress to Michelle Yeoh’s one of a kind performance. My observation of her character in the movie seems exceptionally tour de force!…I know how presumptuous of me to say but my personal opinion has no place in this and it would not convince some voters to consider and acknowledge her work as the best performance this year. But I’m hoping for the best outcome that she would receive her very first SAG and Academy awards trophies.
Do you go around copy & pasting all your comments??
@@BISH9484 Let’s not over complicate things. I think you already know the answer to that question. But thank you for thinking of me in your quest to find the answer to your curiosity.
@@user-CatherineDodd well one might mistake you for being Yeow herself trying to campaign herself to a win.
@@BISH9484 Obviously, we don’t share the same enthusiasm. I was happy to express my personal admiration for Michelle Yeoh and her indelible performance in EEAAO. I think we’re all allowed to have opinions and I don’t have to conform or apologize for my views on actor performances as a much as I disagree with them. Quite frankly, people have to learn to disagree in this country and not hate for it. I know there will be an annoyance to everyone, but I’m afraid they must face the music.
@@user-CatherineDodd oh no I'm not hating, but you're right, we shouldn't hate for disagreeing. But in terms of performance, I'll have to go with Cate.
The weakest play is Angela's Basset from all of supporting actresses I ever watched. Just a poker face who sometimes talks something
I guess.
