Mark. I wasn't able to comment on your live stream. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery. God watching over you, you'll be out of that ordeal soon!! Sending best wishes to you Mark!!!!! Get well soon buddy!!
Mark, so thankful that you are feeling better. I am looking forward to you getting out soon and posting more videos. Isolated areas and trains are both of great interest to me. So recover soon and keep up the good work.
Less than truckload carriers *Roadway* and *Yellow Freight* merged in 2003 and became *YRC Freight* (Yellow Roadway Corporation). The relatively new navy blue 53-foot containers at 3:56 of this video, and the white 28-foot pup trailers at 4:50, all belong to YRC Freight. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of older YRC trailers that are still wearing in their native Yellow Freight or Roadway paint schemes, but I didn't notice any in this video. The reason you haven't seen *JB Hunt* piggyback _trailers_ in decades is that JB Hunt converted their entire core truckload business to intermodal _containers_ more than 25 years ago. The only remaining JB Hunt conventional trailers currently in use are dedicated to exclusive non-rail contract services. Hunt and *UPS* are BNSF's two most important intermodal customers. They each operate huge 53-foot domestic intermodal container fleets. A JB Hunt refrigerated (reefer) container is in the top position at 4:11 of this video.
You can revisit the Pass every week if you want Mark! Some rock close ups and cuttings would be nice for my modelling next time you're up there Sir! Great stuff, cheers Gregg.
If it's in the video, I missed it, but when was this video taken? With 5 locos, it's a long train and that much UPS, I have to wonder if it was peak season. For some reason I thought SP lost JBH to BN, but it could have been after the BNSF merger. JBHunt.com is still live with plenty of units to move, btw. Yellow and Roadway merged in 2009 to make YRC and some of those containers are on this consist.
Hi Mark, have you done a video of the tehachapi rail museum? What is in it? Your video driving up to the museum was very interesting, I watch the tehachapi loop cams and I always wondered what it was like between west cable and tehachapi and you did a brilliant job showing it. Do you know the tehachapi loop cam people, I believe they own a B and B overlooking west cable and a story on them and their equipment would be very interesting. I am sure that they could use the publicity, especially in this tourism free period that we are currently experiencing. Their cameras and the positioning of them would be very interesting. You should also think about doing tours of the area, you have the knowledge that not many people have. The world really needs tourism badly at present, especially local tourism.
I had a tour lined up before covid. I had just volunteered as a docent. I want to wait until it's open again to talk to visitors. I've met them at a presentation I did on the tunnels and would love to do something to boost business. Thanks for the ideas and for checking it out!
Great video. I know your not a train guy but a signal guy, however was wondering about the end of train device aka Smart Fread. As far as I know JB Hunt is still in business
@@Samanthareneeheart1 i was literally a few days from our vacation when we all got sick. We'd have eventually ended up in Ava, Mo. visiting my stepdad and his wife. Dammit
i love your videos and narrations! i have a question: why are there so many trailers on trains and not just on the road behind trucks? just wondering. Do they pick them up and take them to where a truck can move them somewhere else? Thanks and you do a great job!
When the ships come into the Port of L.A. they are loaded onto trains and taken to distribution centers then loaded on trucks to the final destination. Were it not for trains all our highways would be at a standstill!
@@MarkClayMcGowan Ain't that the truth Mark! Class 1's can move 1 ton , 500 miles on one gallon of diesel! And that is old figures before Tier 4 units! Cheers Gregg.
Lol mark your getting old. There was a few JB HUNT containers the front of the train. By the by JB HUNT is not one but the biggest customer BNSF has, pumping over 2 billion dollars in there account every year. Hell we use to put AMTRAK in the hole for JB HUNT and UPS.
Thanks for sharing ok Mark appreciate it 😮😊
Wow impressive scenery wide open spaces 😊
Especially love the way you cut to different scenes instead of showing the entire train. Priceless ❤️❤️❤️fan for life
Thank you. When they're going so slowly its helpful to break things up.

I agree that although you aren't a railfan, your videos are just what a railfan like me likes!
I aim to please! Thanks for checking it out!
Mark... we’re checking in on you since your last post. Hope to hear something positive soon.💪🏽

4:11 YRC Yellow freight merged with Roadway. The new name is YRC.
