    Addco 7/8 inch rear sway bar I found is best compromise for on/off road balance in the WJ. The 1” bar will eventually crack the subframe sheet metal and the stock rear bar isn’t enough for a lift and load on the roof. Or anything really!
    A couple hints- liquids on the roof really contribute to sway, with water if you can get it into the cargo area you will have a better experience. Throw light bulky stuff on the roof instead. And not sure if your front bar was disconnected, but it is night and day better off road with front disconnected. On V8s if not rusted together loosen the single cat and rotate it 180 degrees up so the dogleg in the lead pipe points up not down. Free break over clearance.
    Looks like a lot if fun! I suggest Bald Mountain by Shaver Lake for another fun adventure for your crew. Did it once with just a budget boost and again with a full spring lift. A few challenging spots and beauty the whole trail. Good job guys! Thanks for posting.

    Congratulations . My unaffiliated group did the Miller as guests of a gracious Jeep club . I managed to put a horrendous bend in my front driveshaft during an otherwise innocuous stream crossing,that actually, rhythmically, scraped my floorboards. We straightened it out with a hydraulic jack to at least stop the scraping.. tThen, the long climb up the West side of Alamo Mtn, on a summer afternoon, exposed a weakness in myHowell TBI conversion, in the form of ground-heat vapor lock of my new frame mount fuel pump (right under passenger side). Splashed water on it to keep going. since Hungry Valley-is only a couple hours from LA, we all got home that night,

    Sweet video, I recommend taking advantage of those sway bar quick disconnects and get a spartin lunchbox locker for the rear.

      Definitely recommend disconnecting the end links, quick or not.
      Unfortunately, the D44A rear QD diffs won't take any lunchbox lockers. He'd need to do an entire axles swap.

      @@wjoverland5109 Yeah, definitely for sure going with someone. Really liking the videos. Oh, I was going to ask if you ever thought of disconnecting your sway bar links? It helps a lot for traction and won’t stress the stabilizer bar.

    Look at you out there with open diffs just killing it! I just got my 2020 Gladiator. It's a Sport S, but at some point a Fox Rubicon shock and spring package was put on it with 33s. I can't wait to get out into some good stuff.

      Ya the WJs do pretty good. Not exactly open diffs though. They are veralocks on the Quadra drive system. Not completely locker but they seem to take us where we need to go! So much fun though! Thanks for watching! 😎👍

    I did that road in my 4 x 4 Ford ranger and all kinds of dudes in jeeps were looking at me like I was nuts. Actually my little truck did way better than some of these jeeps that went a little bit overboard with the modifications. Ran my tires around 15 psi and that was all she needed. No problems anywhere on that trail.

    Do you ever rub at full flex? I see you did some trimming. Trimming mine now. I want 33's but seems like everyone rubs some so maybe I chicken out and get 32's, ha. Great fun!!

    • @wjoverland5109
      @wjoverland5109  2 месяца назад

      I have been cutting and cutting… but now I just bought new 33 inch mud terrain tires and almost no rub.. it’s a process. But on a 4inch lift you can do it…
      If you plan to do some wheeling like this you’ll need the ground clearance.

    • @wjoverland5109
      @wjoverland5109  2 месяца назад

      What also helps a lot is.. bump stop extensions. The rule is get them like 1/2 or inch lower than your lift. And it will help you stop before tubing..

      I do really like it. However! I saw that iron rock has some new duel rate 5 1/2 inch springs , when I’m loaded up with overland stuff, I do wish there was a little more there.. ya but when we are just off roading, I think it’s a perfect combo.. With 33s… there will be a bit of trimming!
      Thanks for watching!

    What engine/4wd system do you have in your WJ? My wife has an '04 Limited 4.7HO V8 with the Quadra-Drive system that we are planning to build as a companion overland rig to my '10 5.3L V8 powered GMC Canyon that we have set up for overlanding. We are planning 4" lifts with 33's on both with front and rear ARB air lockers planned on the Canyon.

      Morning mines the 04 4.7 limited with Quadra drive. the 4 inch lift will get you a perfect amount on 33s but! you will prob need to trim some fender I've done it quite often with my jeep and my buddy.s jeeps,,, Good luck and thanks for watching!

      I already have a set of Bushwhacker fender flares ready to go on when we install the lift and tires and a Goliath off-road bumper is part of the plan. I just showed this video to my wife so that she could see what her WJ will be capable of......she said she wants your hat. 🤣
