I own a land Surveying business in Georgia. I’ve snapped. McDuffie County sent me a personal property tax bill for equipment that is at my house. I run my business out of my house and am the only worker. They are taxing me for 2 guns, a Jon boat, and many other things. I moved all of this out of state but they still are charging me and said if I don’t pay, they will file a lien against my squeaky clean business. I told them I’m not paying so they can do what they need to do. I told the chairman of commissioners that if the County can’t do the right thing, we are under tyranny. How is it that I pay a school tax on two firearms that are banned from the school. I told the man I don’t need the county but apparently they need me! I homeschooled all 4 of my children and have taken responsibility for everything in my life. Debt free as well took my whole life to do it. Now if I don’t pay my tyrannical unhinged government control freaks, I can lose everything. I asked the commissioner so if I don’t pay my property taxes, it turns into county property correct? I asked him so I really don’t own it? He said I guess not.

In the state of Georgia 2013 was whenever, you couldn't have a car gifted to you anymore! They actually started going by the Kelly blue book. It just cost me nearly $2000 a piece, for the tag and registration for my Harley-Davidson street glide and my Chrysler SRT8 300c. Totally triped me out.
My mother constantly worries about property taxes as they increase every quarter in a rural area. She has started to realize she doesn’t truly own her home. Many retirees are finally realizing ownership comes with a heavy price.

Chad, you're speaking from a reasonable person's point of view. The fact you stopped an waited for the police knowing that you didn't have all of the required particulars shows it. Most people in that position would've taken off. Without tags, there is no way to report the vehicle or find the driver. Plenty of white Kia Soul out there, or black Ford Explorer. So now your insurance is taking a hit as well as repairs are coming out of your pocket. If you happen to hit someone on a dark road (let's say a pedestrian), you'll be working the rest of your life to pay the court bills and that person's medical bills. I sure wouldn't want people to just hop in a car without a license either. Driving in Atlanta already feels like a demolition derby. During covid it was almost impossible to get an appointment to register my vehicles after I PCSD here. They still charged me late fees. Permit by definition is permission. Hunting, Fishing, you pay for permission to do. Guns needs permit, conceal carry permit, you apply to the government to get a permission then pay them for it. You pay for your tag and sticker as a road tax then you pay road tax again with every gallon of fuel you buy.
First thing people do when they get a new truck is sign the ownership of it over to the state at the damm DMV..then if you do something they don't much approve of..government can take that truck away!
I spent 8 years as an MP only wrote one ticket . The dummy drove up to the gate with a bottle of Beam between his legs and i was trapped as the junior enlisted on gate as the E5 saw the bottle. I was a police officer for 20 years or more. I very seldom wrote a traffic ticket because people are so broke and so frustrated with all the crap. I felt there was no need to impose even more hardship on people just because of a problem with their paperwork are they having to commit a tiny traffic violation. Some other officers lived to write tickets they loved it I don't know why. It's true though we are two birds with all this Buick products in every aspect of Our Lives.

Permit by definition is permission. Hunting, Fishing, you pay for permission to do. Guns needs permit, conceal carry permit, you apply to the government to get a permission then pay them for it. You pay for your tag and sticker as a road tax then you pay road tax again with every gallon of fuel you buy.

First thing people do when they get a new truck is sign the ownership of it over to the state at the damm DMV..then if you do something they don't much approve of..government can take that truck away!

I spent 8 years as an MP only wrote one ticket . The dummy drove up to the gate with a bottle of Beam between his legs and i was trapped as the junior enlisted on gate as the E5 saw the bottle. I had to process the dui case . 😂 That guy ruined my perfect record lol. The ridiculousness of most MPs had me avoiding road duty when i could. Petty garbage .

I was a police officer for 20 years or more. I very seldom wrote a traffic ticket because people are so broke and so frustrated with all the crap. I felt there was no need to impose even more hardship on people just because of a problem with their paperwork are they having to commit a tiny traffic violation. Some other officers lived to write tickets they loved it I don't know why. It's true though we are two birds with all this Buick products in every aspect of Our Lives.
We pay taxes to have the roads built and maintained, and they want us to pay to drive on the roads we paid for. Somehow, people in the past voted or allowed our government to do this to us. Doesn't make sense.

Yes! Got a letter in the mail today that's say I owe 3000 dollars for personal property tax ain't payed it in years and prolly ain't gonna. The letter said that the funds are essential for the local government to continue to operate and provide critical services 😂😂 yea right, what services?? I ain't using no services lol I wish they didn't tell me that cuz now I definitely prolly won't pay it 😂.

About to "renew" my tags and it disgusts me. Oh and I paid my sales tax, but sure throw in that bill for property tax too. You know they already got my income tax.
