- This is a list of the tallest lighthouses in the world. The list is based on the list of tallest lighthouses from The Lighthouse Directory. As such, it includes "traditional lighthouses", i.e. buildings built by navigation safety authorities primarily as an aid to navigation. Some structures of interest that carry navigational lights, but were not mentioned in The Lighthouse Directory since they were not built primarily as lighthouses. Information regarding construction, year, and notes is from the list of tallest lighthouses at The Lighthouse Directory. Sources are given for all other information. Heights are from the United States Coast Guard Light List for the United States and from NGA List of Lights for the rest of the world, unless a better source exists.
1. JEDDAH LIGHT
Jeddah Light is an active lighthouse in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With a height of approximately 436 feet (133 m) it is the tallest lighthouse in the world, surpassing the previous record held by the 352 feet (107 m) Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial. It is located at the end of the outer pier on the north side of the entrance to Jeddah Seaport.
2. YOKOHAMA MARINE TOWER
It is a 106 metres (348 feet) high lattice tower with an observation deck at a height of 100 metres in Naka Ward, Yokohama, Japan. The light characteristic is marked by a flash every twenty seconds, whereby the light's colour is alternating red and green. Originally, at night, the tower shaft itself was lit green and red according to its markings, but now, after the reopening on May 2009, the lights are white.
3. FARO DEL BICENTENARIO
It is a lighthouse in Sarmiento Park, Córdoba, Argentina. At 335 feet (102 m). Designed by Alejandro Cohen and built in the style of structural expressionism, this lighthouse was created as a tribute to the Argentina Bicentennial. The structure is an 80-metre-tall partial helix with a ninety degree twist. The opening was attended by Cordoba Governor Juan Schiaretti who said that it was intended to serve as a city icon.
4. PALACIO BAROLO

Since 1543 and until the construction of the lighthouse on Île Vierge in 1902, it was the tallest lighthouse in the world.

I'm today year's old when I found out that the Statue of Liberty is actually a lighthouse. Tbh with the skyscrapers we have now, any building could act as a lighthouse.
Well, the Statue of Liberty was 16 years old the last time her light shone.
In 1986 they also replaced the glass flame in the torch with the current golden one.
You forgot the Ancient Lighthouse of Alexandra. Even though the structure no longer exists, I think it still have been included because it was one of the tallest structures of the Ancient world at a height of 330ft
As a non American, I was stunned to know that Ms. Liberty was actually a lighthouse
It's not
As an American I was stunned
@@noone-qg1od its torch produces/used to produce light
@@NotTheTrainGuy Statue of Liberty is not a lighthouse. While the statue does have a torch held high in one hand, it is not functional as a lighthouse. The torch is symbolic and represents enlightenment.
The real question becomes how far away can you see the light house , then. If at a certain distance the light house appears to lean away because of curve.... I have yet to see that.
You've included the base/pedestal in the Statue of Liberty, but not in the other lighthouses.
Including the base, Genoa's lighthouse is well above 100m.
Actually the tallest lighthouse will be the Eiffel Tower as it has rotating beaming light 1000 feet
What is the BGM !!!!!!!!!! IT'S SO AMAZING LOL

I forgot the lighthouse in the largest mosque in Algeria, 265 meters high
Yeaaaaah 😂😂😂
That's not a lighthouse. It has to be purposefully designed as a beacon for navigational aid by maritime ships. Otherwise there would be several lighted coastal towers and skyscrapers that would be taller.
Ok so Hainan,St Petersburg,Gatteville-le-Phare,Genoa,Finistère,New York,Buenos Aires,Córdoba,Yokohama, And Jeddah Have Lighthouses

Why do they put light houses in the middle of a city???
That's a good question. I was wondering the same!
Maybe it was there when there was water near it and the water probably evaporated and people built a city around it
That’s a good question I’m guessing there might be a pond in the city with boats
