@@vicky-sl5qj True, no need to imitate. I am only referring to her silly acting in the scenes where she get fascinated by the olden story. There were no subtleties whatsoever in her expressions. It was so silly and laughable. Sorry. I do like Jyothika in her later movies. But, this one was a poor example. The role didnt sult her. But, movie was a super duper hit dispite poor and laughable performance by almost everybody, except may be Vadivelu, and poor screenplay. I think the reason was that it was released at a time when Tamil movies didn't have many different stories. Also, Rajini's absence from the movies for 3 odd years after Baaba also helped. Also, there were glimpses of some good directorial techniques. They pulled it off somehow. Good on them.

I love the music from 4:24 to 5:09❤. It's so mesmerizing and it shows the emotions of chandramuki as she went through the horrible events of her life. It speaks of her powerful seductive beauty in the beginning and later as the music continues, the sorrow and grief she went through because of the king and the loss of her love in front of her eyes are depicted through the music. There is suffocation of all sort of emotions such as anger, greif, pain nostalgia, a little essence of her wondering how her life would've been had she not met the gruesome king. All sort of overwhelming emotions trapped inside the room is spoken through the music as mentioned in the timing above. I know I'm the only one who has written so big. But, if you feel the music speaking to you just like me, comment below.

Chandramukhi is remade from "Apthamitra" the kannada version of manuchitratazhu. If you see kannada version you can find similarities with this movie. Tamil version and malayalam version are completely different in terms of screenplay and cinematography. Lots of elements are added in kannada version so as in tamil version. Pls don't compare both... We Tamils respect other language films and especially malayalam films which are realistic in story and making. We like lots of malayalam films and premam ran more than 100 days in Chennai...Tamil version chandramukhi is the biggest blockbuster when compared to all the other languages and one of the reason is the concept of film which I agree that is from malayalam movie, main reason is bcoz of Rajini, Jyothika performance and Vadivelu comedy and added commercial elements like fights, comedy, mass and style scenes of Rajini, dialogue delivery, songs and it worked. Chandramukhi movie also made manuchitratazhu famous as all were searching for the original movie and watched those days. Ofcourse we can't compare it with original version as director Fazil has made the movie as a masterpiece with advanced concept in 90s. In one interview actor mahesh babu has been asked about actor vijay remaking his movies. He simply answered them that his respect towards actor vijay has increased as he chose his movies to remake. Same as with all the actors as they always respect each other's performances in remakes.
